Was told I had 5 tears in rotator cuff. Lost my xrays. Went to another orthopedic and was told I had 1 tear and he did the surgery and all was great. Office staff was horrible. I called after the appointment within an hour so I could come back to get my xrays and they said they were at the desk. I went the next day and they couldn't find them. It wasn't a small item! She said I must have forgotten to bring them for my appointment. Yeah I'll drive 30 minutes to get something that wasn't there! Really? read more

First off this is rating is not a reflection on Dr Secor. He is a really great guy - and I can only assume - a great doctor because other than a cortisone shot I didn't really get a chance to use his services. My main issue is a hip replacement which I severely need. Unfortunately his office staff and phone systems are a complete disaster. Good luck trying to get in touch with anybody there and if they tell you they will follow up with insurance, PT schedules, MRI appointment etc, just laugh and assume it will not get done. It's a total shame because I really liked the doc and he came highly recommended but any/all follow up and ancillary work/service is a train wreck. Sorry doc! Doctor Secor has the worst office staff I have ever dealt with. They have no compassion, very unfriendly, and bad attitudes. Lizbeth is disrespectful and lies to get out of doing her work in a timely matter. The office manager Sondra is too over loaded with work to have any contact with patients. I 100% agree with Art V. Between my insurance company and I, we called this office 15 times asking for documentation for an MRI the PA ordered and were repeatedly told they would send it in but they never did. To be clear, this review isn't about Dr Secor himself, I never actually saw him. I made an appointment with him, but the PA saw me instead. She never even did a physical exam. First she prescribed medication, then ordered the MRI. After 6 months of runaround, I finally wised up and went to another doctor who actually did a physical exam and diagnosed my issue within 2 minutes, without an MRI. read more

Would not recommend. I tried to make an appointment for over 2 weeks and no one responded to me once. The first time I called several times and no one in the office ever picked up the phone. The second time, I called the operator for the office and she was incredibly rude, even hanging up on me one time when I asked to be transferred to the office. On the third attempt someone else picked up and said they would try the office and again, no one answered so she'd give them my information to call me and it's been a week and still nothing. I have also gone to their website and requested an appointment and to this day have never received a response of any kind from anyone. If this is how they run their office, it does not make me feel comfortable about getting any type of procedure done there. Went in with a few pain complaints and was greeted by a pleasant efficient receptionist. The whole appointment was awesome from beginning to end. Xrays were taken and diagnosis was understandable. I had to have a cortisone injection in my finger for a trigger finger problem. I won't lie and neither did Dr. Secor but it HURT during the injection. But it is already feeling better and free to love thru the channel that caused the problem. Dr. Secor and staff have a friendly and caring personality.. Incompetent office staff! They do NOT return phone calls and are RUDE! Dr. Secor always runs 1.5 hours late. I'm tired of his BS!

Dr. Secors staff is very unprofessional and also very rude. They do not call back when they say they will and also Roxanne is the worse she hung up on me twice. I asked to speak to the office manager or someone in charge and she hung up. They really need to rethink who they hire. Doctor Perry Secor is by far the Best orthopedic surgeon I found when I was searching for a doctor to do my total hip replacement. I was mortified, terrified to have the surgery but after my first consultation with Doctor Secor, I knew he was going to be my surgeon!! He was attentive to my needs, truly listened to All my concerns, answered All my questions plus has a wonderful bedside manner! But most of all he is an expert in his field as an orthopedic surgeon. I don't know why I was so terrified of the surgery but after the surgery thanks to Dr. Secor my recovery has been amazing! this doctor was the second one I got from this group and both made the same mistake. After a fall, I had a fracture distal radius bone. I also had a small abrasion first Dr. Cory Phang who did not even bother to takeoff the cast that had been on for three days put on by the emergency room. I told him I had an abrasion and he told me he could not operate if there was any kind of infection yet and 42 decided that he did not demon necessary to look at the wound. Sure enough, I had to come back within five days after burning stinging and he decided there was an infection and prescribed heavy heavy antibiotics without taking any kind of culture. After the surgery, I decided that that mistake was one too many & decided to try Dr. Perry Secor I went to see him exactly one week from the surgery, and he also did not bother to remove original dressing and actually view the incision. told me to come back in two weeks. Within a day or two, I had stinging burning sensations under that dressing, and found it to be bloody & icky on Instinct told me to take it outside, air it out and exposed to sun, which I did the moon. The word immediately looked better and I ended up starting on the antibiotics originally given to me for the original wound that went on addressed by Dr. fang. Upon going back to see Dr. Secour, however, he was taken aback by the seriousness of the infection on my wrist, and ordered more heavy antibiotics WITHOUT taking any kind of a culture and wanted to see me back the next day Went back the next day, a Friday before a holiday weekend, and finally decided that he was going to take a culture Went back the following Tuesday call, mom wound was better because I had been airing it out. Still taking the heavy, heavy antibiotics that Perry had prescribed they were making me sick. He looked at it, said it looked better, and then said oh yeah, keep taking the antibiotics I said what about the culture what does it say? Do I have to take that same prescription or is there something more specific to the wound? At that point his nurse, Alyssa handed him the results of the test and guess what it was not any kind of bacterial infection. It had been a fungal infection all along that nobody not Dr. fang not Dr. Secor bothered to even investigate until the very last moment, and I was in serious danger of sepsis that could've cost me my arm . Do yourself a favor find a better, Ortho, do not go to either Dr. Kori fang or Dr. Perry Secor. Personally, I had to change insurance companies because I cannot handle this advantage crap HMO, where they need authorization from the East Coast for every little thing and I have to outsource lab work, etc. instead of doing it in-house as good insurance will permit. Dr perry Secore happens to be the best thing that's happen to people needing Orthopaedic care! Dr Secore happens to be a brilliant surgeon. No ego stands in his way.I remember the 1st visit he came in with a big smile n shook my hand and made me feel at comfortable . For goodness sakes he listen to my awful jokes (lol) Dr Secore made me feel at ease.. his Staff is caring, the atmosphere inside the office spectacular, very professional. He encouraged me to lose weight in order to have a successful surgery. He told me if l lost the weight he would do my surgery! I took him seriously. You see l had 2 grandchildren at home very young at the time. I gave it my best shot. I lost 30 lbs by God's Grace. Dr Secore was so happy for me. I know he cares for his patients. He kept his word. Before surgery l prayed as always his hands are truly blessed. I am in need of another knee replacement, on my right knee l only recommend Dr Perry Secore he's the best as a Orthopaedic surgeon. I had the pleasure to meet Dr. Secar...and his wife (she was working with him that day ) and of course im scared...SO I START RAMBLING ABOUT MY NEW KNEE ISSUE..AND HOW MY LAST YEAR HAS GONE . ...(with my Total right knee replacement surgery) and the SURGEON WHO WAS unprofessional...tacky....rude...and how he just does not care about his patients and the ugliness that comes out of his mouth when he talks down to u ...at that point Mrs. Secar says thats my husband...i almost died thinking ....did i tell her anything i wasnt supposed to??? Does she think im going to b a difficult patient...i was hoping i did not say the wrong thing!!! The one thing my jerk of a surgeon said...he was the closest thing to god that i will meet on this earth?? REALLY!! THATS THE COMMENT which made me realize he needs professional therapy ....HIM THINKING HES GOD IS WHEN I REALIZED JUST HOW MENTALLY SICK HE REALLY WAS. Mrsa testing..and so on...as far as my original surgeon he takes one look at my knee and u can just tell...HE DID SOMETHING WRONG...SO HE TRIED TO HANG HIS NARCISSISTIC HAT ON....TELLING ME I WAS MORBALLY OBESE....(but...i lost 100 lbs.) Not one word was mentioned about that....so when he decides he has to come up with something ...he comes up with how im a problem patient who takes to many pills.. Well....i only took the meds he gave me!!! Another red flag was...my in home nurse says to me and my husband r we sure this surgery was done by this particular doctor (this doctor who works as a orthopedic surgeon in irvine) and of course we said yes.... but that got the wheels turning in my head!!! Then i go to the physical therapy ...(the therapist this doctor sends most of his knee replacements to)...i was with my nurse ...and the therapist took one look at my knee and she and her boss said...(r u sure this doctor who i trusted with my knee did my surgery?? and not one of his partners)...of course now im thinking DEFINATLY something is wrong!! Well to make a bad situation worse...he threw a fit like a child when he saw me..i had my nurse....and my husband...of course my knee was still on fire...he says to me that i must have done somthing wrong...so my husband told him we spent alot of money on this procedure...and ...REALLY...u r going to blame me!! Well i told him my left knee also had to b done and we both agreed to have him give me all my records and im taking them to Dr. Perty Secar....like i said before ..i was talking to his wife about my situation...she was so kind and said oh! Thats my husband...i was then just stunned hoping i didnt say the wrong thing... Then they called me in the office to meet Dr. Perry Secar he was so kind. .Considerate. and u could c the wheels turning in his head...he wants an answer To why im in pain !! and he said he will ride this out with me until hopfully im pain free!!! So...only one office visit and im a happy camper already...he let me know...he's going to have me do all sorts of test and hopfully we can come up with the answer.... On the way home i told my husband the to Secar's were so sweet...i would invite them over for a bbq...thats how much i love this doctor already.....well maybe some people who r reading this realize... I'd like to recommend Dr. Secor to anyone that is looking for an outstanding orthopedic surgeon. He successfully replaced my knee and his pre surgery classes as well as his follow up care were invaluable to me. I was treated with kindness and respect through it all. His support staff were incredible. Everyone of them introduced themselves to me and assured me of their professional care for me. The hospital and the staff were wonderful too. Dr. Secor has a great bedside manner and wonderful sense of humor. I just love that man. The office staff is thoughtful and considerate. There's a little wait but it's well worth the wait. Dr Secor performed a right knee arthroscopy for meniscus tears that I had. He was awesome. Followed up personally after the surgery instead of having a nurse call. Facilities are great, staff is also very nice. Very smart man (engineer & doctor), and has a through understanding of his profession. Dr. Secor did my right rotator cuff repair surgery back in 2007, he was great back then, that's why when I recently (2013) fell at work and hurt my knees I seeked him out again. I have been seeing Dr Secor since April 2015 for a massive rotator cuff tear. I felt at ease the first time I met him. He was unsure if he could fix the tear but I asked him to try. He is a wonderful Dr and he is very knowledgeable in his field. Great bedside manner and I had heard such wonderful things from other patients of his. I Googled him expecting to see something negative but the only complaint was the wait time to see him in his office, but if that is the only complaint that can be found great. He is well worth the wait. 3 days post op I waited 15 min to see him (which was nothing) he is a wonderful surgeon and I can't praise him enough. I had surgery 9-21-15 and I can raise my arm again (something I couldn't do for about 1yr) God forbid I don't need any other orthopedic surgery but if I do he's the Dr I would call.
