If you're looking for 1950s-style dining, Salem Oaks Diner may be the place for you. From the…read moredilapidated exterior to the old-fashioned interior--which feels about as spacious as a 15-foot trailer ..it has a strong, old-school diner atmosphere. To me, though, the overall feel comes across as a little too "hick-y," and it isn't a hot choice. The staff was polite, but I didn't feel especially welcomed or at ease as someone who didn't seem to fit their usual crowd. The place could also use some attention to its upkeep. While the retro-feel may appeal to people who enjoy a no-frills, olden-style diner, it wasn't really my style, and I'm not in a hurry to go back. Overall, I'd give it two stars for it may suit the right diner fan, but it wasn't a standout experience for me.

Umm... it's literally called a CHEESESTEAK. ‍ I asked to speak to a manager and got the exact same response, with not even an apology. I was told they "just updated the online menu." Okay... then maybe the menu should clearly say that cheese is no longer included in a cheesesteak? And if multiple customers are calling because of the change, maybe acknowledge the mistake and apologize instead of blaming the customer. I've never had to specifically request cheese on a cheesesteak before. Very disappointing customer service, especially when the restaurant could've easily handled this much better.
