It's a lovely spa too, and not just massage. I met my masseuse, who was very welcoming. We talked about my chronic health issues and how to approach things, and what areas to prioritize. Her massage skills were great. Firm pressure, dug in when needed, loosened up impossibly tight areas, and helped get things moving in my body. I felt like new afterwards and will be scheduling again in a couple of weeks. I can't wait. I will say the massage was more expensive than most other spas, and to get the price down a bit, a membership is required, which I'm not thrilled about. I hate subscriptions, so I'll probably pay more for my freedom from a subscription and because my massage therapist is worth it.

She also recommended what products I should use to make sure my addressed problems stay minimal. She also provided massages after she put on a face mask for me, which I appreciated! Both beds that I was on were heated, so those felt incredible. It was my first time here, so I had to complete a few paperwork before I met my masseuse and esthetician. It was very straightforward. We had scheduled two head spa appointments for 10:00 AM. Upon arrival, the receptionist seemed confused and couldn't find our bookings. She mentioned they typically don't schedule two head spa sessions at the same time due to staffing--something that should have been addressed when we booked. We were eventually brought back to the treatment rooms about five minutes late. I got on the table, only for my therapist to discover there was no power in part of the room. For the next 10 minutes, she was coming in and out trying to reset the breaker. Not exactly a relaxing start. When the treatment finally began, it only got worse. I've had head spa treatments before and found them incredibly soothing--this was anything but. Water kept splashing on my face, the massage was more like random heavy rubbing than any skilled technique, and the products used on my scalp were ice cold. When I mentioned the cold temperature, the therapist casually suggested they "might need a bottle warmer." The water temperature was also all over the place--burning hot one minute, cold the next--and despite voicing my discomfort several times, nothing improved. To top it all off, the therapist played spa music from her phone, but I could hear a text notification come through during the treatment, which completely killed any remaining sense of tranquility. The session also ended early, yet I was still charged full price. When I brought up these issues--power problem, inconsistent water temperature, cold products --I was met with a blank stare. No apology, no concern, just indifference. It felt like customer service and professional training were entirely lacking. Bottom line: I will not be returning and do not recommend this business to anyone. What was supposed to be a special, relaxing day with a friend ended up being a stressful waste of time and money.

But due to the bad economy we had to cancel our membership. I had about $400 in credits that I could use for massages and facials. I went in for a massage and my wife had a facial. I figured I could use the rest of my credits. A few weeks ago, I tried to book an appointment and they said all my credits were gone. I was shocked. Then they told me the sent me a text that I had 90 days to use the credits. In those subsequent appointment they never told me I would lose my credits or gave me a reminder. I believe this was on purpose. I pleaded with the manager but they refused to help me or make things right. I left a message with Hand & Stone head office in Pennsylvania. I have yet to hear back from them. I lost $300 worth of credits! They could have done something to help me but now I'll never go back and I'll warn everyone. Beware of this place.
