My experience with Denise has shown me that she cares about giving great customer service. I have been to her a total of 3 times now. I first went to her to get my brows and liner done. She was understanding even though I was late and explained the process to me the whole way. She told me to call her if I had any questions or concerns. I felt like her prices were fair, especially for touch ups. After my first visit, I came back for my touch up on both areas and had the same good experience. She took her time and explained everything if I had more questions. I kinda feel like she rubs my face roughly to get the the ink and numbing cream off it, but it bothers me because my face is sensitive. I know thats not a big deal because I just want the procedure to turn out well. She's always reassuring and anytime I called her, she was always willing to take her time with me. Unfortunately, I still felt I needed another tough up on my liner after those two visits. I honestly did my best to follow all aftercare instructions but I think my skin on my lids just didn't take the ink as well as I'd hoped. My brows did turn out fantastic, and it's so nice to not have to do my brows all the time. When I called Denise she was willing to work with me and do a touch up another time due to my concern, so we set up a third appointment. That was my most recent visit, and she was just as cooperative and accommodating. She even advised me to move the appointment out of concern that I needed more time to heal; I really appreciated that. The only thing that was different is I felt a bit rushed this last time. It was probably because we only had a 1/2 appointment, whereas the previous two had been for 1 hour. Overall, I was still happy with the result and I'm sure it will heal great this time. I had a very disappointing experience at Perfect Perfection with Denise. I paid $80 through a groupon to get my eyebrows done, and gave her a $70 tip. The results were not what I expected. One eyebrow had no arch, and there was a noticeable area underneath with no pigment...just bare skin. I didn't notice all of the flaws until I got home, where it became clear that the work was uneven and not done carefully. When I brought this to Denise's attention, she refused to offer a refund or any proper solution, which was very frustrating given the quality of the work. I recommend paying with a credit card and also the tip if you choose to come here, so you have some protection in case there's an issue. She called back but was short and rude. I am new to permanent makeup, and she was asking me questions I didn't understand and she was sighing heavily! DENISE STOCKDALE's GROUPON is full of FAKE REVIEWS! BUYER BEWARE! Many of the reviews that describe Denise Stockdale are accurate: VERY ARROGANT, BAD ATTITUDE, IMPOLITE, RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL and the list goes on. To get straight to the point the lidocaine injections she used to numb my eyebrows did not work. It was very painful and when I let her know that the injection didn't work and it was very painful she told me to suck it up and said it can't be that painful. Note - I had my eyebrows done 10 years ago and I barely felt it. When Denise was done she had me look in a mirror on the wall (instead of handing me a hand held mirror) and I freaked out! I asked her if she was going to fix my eyebrows so that they would be even and if she was going to fill in the rest of one of the eyebrows. She told me that there was ink there and that I couldn't see it because my eyebrows were too blonde. I could not believe what I was hearing. There was no ink there. Then, she told me that she could fix some of it when I came back in 7 to 10 days (and of course pay her more money). You have got to be kidding me! Denise claims to have 16 years experience which is part of the reason why I chose her and because here Groupon reviews were very good. If Denise TRULY had 16 years experience my eyebrows shouldn't have turned out SO AWEFUL, unless, of course, she did it on purpose. Which I believe she did. Then, since you are not supposed to use any eyebrow pencil or anything on your eyebrows until after they heal, I had to go to work for over 2 weeks looking very strange. I finally see that my beliefs are CONFIRMED by other victim's that must live with PERMANENT SUB PAR or imperfect FACE MAKEUP Tattoo, by DENISE STOCKDALE. My personal experience has been MULTIPLE VISITS (Approx. qty 6? at $80 to $150 each vist!). It seemed that Denise was purposely "messing up" some small tatoo area most EVERY time she worked on me! There would be missing tattooed areas, wrong angles at the edges of my LINER & EYEBROWS. I could not afford to go somewhere else and start over at an additional $350-$1000. So, I would go back to Denise and pay MORE and MORE to cover up or fix (better) what was wrong. Mostly this meant going for a thicker and thicker line to attempt to smooth, FILL-IN and balance (or right & match angles) of my eyeliner and brows. At first, I thought it was normal or accidental for the imperfections. But, now I believe this is her STRATEGY to get low income clients in the door and get a LONG-TERM larger PAYOFF... Where else can low income people go for permanent tattoo? Who wants to walk around with imperfect, missing or uneven permanent makeup?! Our eyes are the most VISIBLE feature we have, "The spokesman of our souls." I was a make up artist, so this experience has been especially difficult for me. She's upset and impatient with you for everything (stuff you should be allowed to ask and be informed about), and has "phone rules" she doesn't even tell you about. She also doesn't like answering questions about what's in her contract and made excuses about why I couldn't have a copy of the contract I signed (printer broken, etc.). 1) I was not numbed up and it tickled and hurt but she gets upset with you for having normal physical reactions (HOLD STILL!). She's condescending (I recorded our call today) and doesn't care what physical discomfort you're experiencing. It's like hiring the mean nun at the school. She rudely told me how she can't leave the numbing agent on for longer than 10 minutes but I was her last client of the day and I happen to know she only waited 6 minutes. Is she sadistic or just in a hurry? 2) She texted me her address for the appt, so when I needed a touch up I assumed she was reading my texts. After 2 days I called her and she called back and read me the riot act about how she's busy with customers and doesn't get or reply to text messages (how the heck would I know that?) and went into a tirade about how her family all have special ways to reach her (why do I need to know that?) She won't let you finish a sentence, yells at you when you try to interject a thought that might change the trajectory of the next thing she says, and has a horrible bedside manner. So I'm a little disappointed to say the least. I got my eyebrows done yesterday by Denise.The lighting was poor in the room that I received my permanent makeup done in, which could have impacted the quality. My brows were previously done with a hair stroke technique a year ago in California by Sheila Bella (which reviews and photos are posted from that visit as well). Denise went over what was there because it had "blurred" and no longer looked like individual hair strokes, so I decided to just get it redone the "regular way" and save myself a mini fortune. About 5 hours after my procedure I looked on the mirror after I showered and noticed the tail wasn't finished on my right brow. I asked Denise the following morning if she could complete and she said it would be $30 additional 30 days later. I don't think it's fair to charge clients if the work wasn't finished initially. This isn't a touch up but actually finishing the tail correctly. I bought a Groupon for the service but did tip and would have come back for a touch up and pay if needed, but as a professional whom has been in that industry myself, I would never make a client pay for my inability to finish the job correctly the first time. My employees even commented that they were not even, which was unfortunate. UPDATE: I spoke with Denise today who stated it was a misunderstanding in communication and that she would fix my eyebrows free of charge. She then confronted me about this Yelp review. Which is an honest, unpaid, and unbiased review from a paying customer. She stated that her friend told her I wrote a bad review about her. I wrote an HONEST review as a paid customer, who tried to resolve the issue before writing my review! Denise had the audacity to ask me to take this review down! I also complained to Groupon about this, and read the other reviews for the Tijuana Tan, which are not so hot. Denise was very friendly upon meeting. She first had me draw on my eyebrows with a pencil to get an idea of what I want. She then made some suggestions that were very helpful and exactly what I wanted! She seems very knowledgeable and experienced. The procedure didn't take long. She used a numbing cream to help reduce the pain. After she finished, she went over after care. So far, I like the work but I need to wait for it to heal which can take a few weeks to see final results. Denise did my top and bottom eyeliner in July. She never mentioned how dialated my pupils would be, very unsafe to drive. She argued with me very arrogantly when i questioned her use of scented, generic baby wipes to scrub my eyes (open wounds at that point).Next day my eyes were swollen shut, then were red and oozed pus for 3 days! I don't understand how she gets such good ratings. Those good reviews fooled me to go get my eyebrows done by her. The people who think she does great job do not know how much better other artists can do. They probably have never gotten permanent make up before. She did my eyebrows very quickly and then she said they were done after never handing me a mirror to check. I had to get up and walk to the mirror on the wall. I told her I wanted them thick before the procedure but she made them very thin. I could see right away that they were uneven. I told her I wanted them thicker and one side looked thicker than the other. She didn't bother to check them closely and just shook her head. She said I need to come back and pay $30 if I wanted anything fixed. I left there being very upset. I have never experienced that kind of treatment from a beauty technician before. My sister gifted me this permanent eyeliner because I thought hers was so beautiful. I have tattoos so I am not new to pigment being used on the body. I made a comment that I wanted eyeliner like what Denise had - so pretty, and she began the process. It took me a bit to settle down with the eye being stretched and open and then a needle going close to the eye. After the procedure, I was so pleased. I followed the aftercare to the specific instructions and experienced the color coming off a little as discussed it would. But I did not expect all of the liner to disappear all together 5 days later. There was no flaking as I was told. There simply was nothing. I flew home and was surprised to see nothing. When Denise and I spoke she was defensive about her work and went on the put blame on me - that I went and had eye lash extensions put on (not). She said I had puffy eyes (?) and at no time did she say I was not a candidate for this procedure. I went with joy and am now out $150, no permanent eyeliner. Disappointed for sure.
