As with any large project, there were occasional oversights; but Kaster and his crew were quick to remedy them.

I was so worried about the mess and the stress of a big project, but they made the whole process so easy. The crew was incredibly polite, they showed up right on time every single day, and they cleaned up after themselves beautifully when they were finished. You can really tell they take pride in their work because the wall looks so sturdy and gorgeous. It gives me such peace of mind knowing it was done right. If you need any work done, do yourself a favor and call them. They are just wonderful!

Our experience with DiBara Masonry was extremely disappointing…read more We initially met with Matt to review the plans for our project. He was knowledgeable, professional, and conveyed significant industry experience. We were then introduced to the sales team, who described the project as straightforward and estimated that the work could be completed within 6-8 weeks based on plans that had already been approved by the city. Instead, the project extended to approximately seven months and was marked by persistent communication issues, poor coordination among team members, inadequate project management, and a lack of consistent oversight. After the contract was signed, both Matt and our sales representative became largely unavailable. We were assigned a project manager who was unfamiliar with the approved plans and frequently required clarification on basic project details. When we raised concerns with our sales representative, we were told that project-related issues were outside his responsibility, and we were not directed to anyone else who could effectively address them. Partway through the project, the company hired a new Director of Operations who assured us that existing issues would be resolved and the project would be brought back on track. Unfortunately, communication remained inconsistent, calls and messages often went unanswered, and there were periods of multiple weeks when no work was performed on site. A significant issue throughout the project was the apparent lack of communication between departments. Sales, project managers, foremen, office staff, and accounting frequently appeared to be operating independently, resulting in repeated miscommunications, conflicting information, and a constant stream of redundant calls, texts, and emails. As a customer, it often felt as though we were responsible for relaying information between members of their own team. One (of many) examples: we scheduled a walk through prior to making our final payment. A week later the accounting team threatened to put a mechanic's lien on our house because we hadn't paid yet. Apparently no one was talking to each other within their office. The company also relied on a long succession of subcontractors. In our experience, many arrived on site without a clear understanding of the scope of work and without access to the approved plans. This led to confusion, delays, and avoidable mistakes. Most concerning were incidents that appeared to result directly from lack of oversight. Work performed by the team caused significant damage to our sewer line. On another occasion, concrete was scheduled to be poured over exposed electrical lines that had not yet been reconnected, a situation that could have created serious complications had it not been identified beforehand. We made several attempts to speak directly with Matt regarding our concerns about project quality, management, and coordination. However, we were repeatedly told that he was unavailable or booked weeks in advance, and we were never able to have a meaningful discussion about the issues affecting our project. Based on our experience, the company presented a far different level of organization and oversight during the sales process than what was ultimately delivered once construction began.

We really had no firm ideas of our own regarding how to develop the backyard, but Brandon came out and gave us some really fantastic design options. After consulting with other businesses, we decided to go with Dream Green Landscape. After we explain to Brandon exactly how we would like to use the backyard, he came up with a perfect configuration that combined pebble, concrete, and succulent plants. Brandon sent us all of the potential plants we could use, but we ultimately trusted his creative vision and allowed him full reign to pick whatever he thought would look best. Brandon has an impressive crew that came out and did the work alongside Brandon. They laid irrigation, put in the plants, the ground cover, and the concrete. The final product is amazing. We love our backyard, and with Brandon's efforts, it has been transformed into a wonderful serene environment that we enjoy spending time in. Brandon warranties all plants for 6 months, and when a few plants didn't look particularly healthy, he came out and replaced all four of them no questions asked. I've hired plenty of contractors in my day, but the real test of customer service is how well they treat you after you've parted with your money. Brandon was just as responsive and customer service oriented in replacing these plants as he was in getting our business in the first place. Several of my neighbors who are considering similar projects have viewed and loved the work Brandon did in our backyard. They are currently working with Brandon on their own projects. We've been so pleased we're considering now removing the grass in our front yard and having Brandon put together a design to replace our front grass with drought resistant landscaping. I can't recommend this company enough. Brandon is a true pro and a credit to his craft.

He came out immediately and provided us with a quote and made some great suggestions on how to make the project look even better than we expected. He and his workers arrived on time each day and they finished the job earlier than scheduled. We couldn't be happier with the end result. Our backyard slope is now filled with beautiful colorful plants and flowers with (what is growing into) a carpet of green myoporum as the backdrop. it's really beautiful. The tree Brandon recommended brings an added touch of contrasting colors and a unique look. we couldn't be more pleased!

My contractor subcontracted a micro cement install and the people he hired did not do a good job…read more They left the job with uneven spots, micro cement all over my walls, and the sealer had already yellowed and was showing through. The situation was disappointing and frustrating to say the least, so I took matters into my own hands and called LA Concrete Works to see if they can fix the job for me. After reviewing the job and settling on a final start date, I could already see that this team was exceptional at what they do. Joe was communicative, ready to answer any question, and very lovely to work with - he is very detailed and came to visit the site often despite their busy schedule. Sydney at the main office was so understanding and a rockstar at keeping me up to date on the plan of action. Luis, Jose, and the install team were courteous, neat, and most of all extremely competent - they know what they are doing and they do it really well. In the end, I got the exact floor I wanted and was able to work with a team who listened to my needs and made sure I was happy with the work. LA Concrete Works is who you call when you want the job done professionally and with the upmost care.

The first person I spoke with made a strong, positive impression, professional, warm, and confident they could handle my project. I sent the requested photos and received confirmation they were received, and was told I'd hear from S., the project manager, within a specific time frame. After that, I never heard back, no call, email, or text. It's a shame, because it sounds like the quality of their work is good, but their lack of communication left me no choice but to hire another contractor.

After looking into replacement options such as wood and vinyl, we decided to invest in a slumpstone wall for its lack of maintenance required and longevity. After consulting with several local masonry contractors, we chose CPF Masonry and it was a great decision! We valued Pat's extensive knowledge of the requirements for a structural wall and their pricing was highly competitive. Pat also demonstrated extreme patience with us during a lengthy pre-construction phase as we were dealing with a difficult neighbor for the project. CPF Masonry managed the entire project from start to finish: tearing down and hauling away the old wooden fence, building the new stone wall, and helping with the cleanup afterwards. The final product looks absolutely phenomenal and completely transformed the aesthetic of our backyard. If you are looking for an honest, highly skilled, and completely reliable masonry team in the Thousand Oaks and Ventura County area, I cannot recommend Pat and the CPF Masonry crew enough!

It's always a scary when hiring a contractor to do work at your home…read more From the first contact, this company was extremely professional and provided us with a new driveway with pavers. Our salesman Jay was very easy to deal with, was extremely patient and polite and explained everything in a manner that was easy to understand. Joseph, one of the supervisors was terrific and made sure that everything was going as promised and promptly addressed any concerns we had. Honestly, the crew that showed up to do the work was awesome. They worked incredibly hard, were super friendly, and never made us feel bad for asking questions. Our project manager was also great and very involved and helpful at every stage of the project. We went with System Pavers mainly because of their warranty and because we'd seen other work they'd done. Safe to say it did not disappoint. The one thing I'd suggest they improve is the design process. When we met with the design consultant upfront, he put together a rough drawing. We were told it was mostly just to ballpark costs and that the real design would come together closer to install. The issue is we never actually received that drawing, so we ended up having to finalize everything with the construction manager kind of last minute. It really wasn't a big deal, especially since we asked them to hold off on starting for several months while we finished up some other backyard projects. A clearer process there would make an already great experience even better. We would absolutely recommend System Pavers. Great work, great people.
