First time here at parkins. Heard a lot about you before how you are famous for breakfast. We were there at dinner though last week with our friends while we visited oglebay. We ordered a few things like salmon, pancakes , steak, Shrimp etc. adding them here in the attachment. The interior was good and good place for a family brunch I would say. Though I think the food had a bit too much salt content in it . overall which might be a one time thing. They did not take too much time to serve the food. read more

The Perkins on national road has gone downhill! Do they have a new cook or something? The coffee was burnt and I asked for fresh. I was told it was fresh, but she could cut it for me. Huh? She poured half of the pot out and added hot water...ugh Then the food came. My friends ham was burnt and so was my hash browns. We are going to Moundsville Perkins next time. We came for breakfast after checking out of our Airbnb and we had a really nice visit. Our hostess/server was super friendly and efficient. Our breakfasts were great. I always appreciate hash browns and rye toast. There are other mom and pop places around, but Perkins was open on a Monday. It was a good choice. I would definitely return. read more

My son and I both had breakfast for lunch. Eggs, toast, pancakes, sausage, bacon, potatoes, etc. The servings were generous and we had lots of leftovers. We also shared a slice of the peanut butter silk pie. Service is very fast and friendly. It is clean and not very crowded at 3 PM on a Saturday. Perkins whole staff from breakfast to dinner were all very kind and great service. We enjoyed our food we choose. Being able to create your own omelette is really nice to have. Where I live we don't have Perkins in the whole state. They closed down many years ago, the only 1 Ohio had. After having a crappy evening at Oglebay 10min Festival of Lights. We were hungry and noticed there wasn't a wait at Perkins. Our waitress Sara was absolutely amazing!! She had a smile on her face and she made our night so much better. She kept apologizing about our lovely Oglebay experience. She was fast with food and drinks. Sara definitely deserved excellent award for being so awesome. She was really knowledgeable about the menu and had excellent customer service. The restaurant was quiet at both times we went. Stopped here yesterday (Jan 1st) for a late lunch. Was so glad they were open to serve us, and the service was great! The staff was very kind, and our waitress, Danielle, checked in on us regularly. The food was delicious! My only complaint is that one employee smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, we were sitting close to the front desk so we could smell it the entire time we were there. We discovered Perkins on a trip to South Dakota. We drove 109 miles today to eat at this one. We drove our motorcycle up because it's an 80 degree day in February ! Perkins are great, the muffins and pastries are wonderful. This one is just off I-70 exit 2A at Wheeling WV! We found this Perkins last July after liking the ones out West. Stories like this make me so sad. My father who rarely if ever goes out to eat and is 84 went to Perkins on National rd in Wheeling WV to eat breakfast after an appt. My father lives alone and has to be hungry if he stopped. He was seated in the back of the restaurant and served coffee. He then waited 35 minutes for someone to return to take his order but no one did. He got up and went to the front and shared what happened. The person said well we got a bus and the waitress must have forgotten you. My father replied I'm going to leave and not have breakfast. The person told my father he did not have to pay for his coffee. The person should have gotten the manager. Disappointing service for sure. read more

Stopped in for a quick dinner. Restaurant was not busy at all (We were the 4th table in the dining area, around 4-4:30pm). I ordered a burger, cooked medium. It came out well done and could not even get the toppings I asked for. There was no seasoning on the meat and did not taste fresh. One of my children ordered Mac and cheese. It was burnt and hard. There's no way it was made to order, it had to have been sitting around for a while. The waitress was nice but once our food came out, we didn't see her again until the check came nor did we get any refills on our drinks. I am a first-time Yelp reviewer. On July 31, I ordered a berry-chicken salad as a takeout item, with a side of French fries. When I opened the takeout box, I was annoyed to see that all the lettuce was old, rusty iceberg lettuce. Iceberg lettuce has little nutritional value, but I sort of expect it in Wheeling WV. What I didn't expect was a salad that I almost couldn't eat because it was disgusting. I ate the small chicken pieces and threw the rest away. The french fries were good. Open 24 Hours ! New Improved Parking Lot ! Fresh Pies ! Thats what the billboard says before you get to the Exit in Wheeling off of i-70 I've have had brunch here once or twice during vising my grandfather who lives in Wheeling. I enjoyed it as much as well a typical chain based breakfast/all around day restaurant. It has eggs, and good country gravy. The shinning light is the thick, buttery delicious biscuits that you can get with every meal your heart desires. The food is decently priced and nothing amazing but its good enough to make you full, and the portions are decently priced for the size that they are ( big) This place seems to always have people in it, and in a small dying city thats a good thing. There is not a lots in this city, and sometimes when you need a place to stop and its 3am, stop here. Props to this Perkins location for not only putting up with a post-wedding drunk/hangover-brunch of 9 of us staggering in haphazardly, but also indulging our "city-folk-ironically-eat-at-Perkins" experience. I wish I could remember our waiter's name to send him an apology/thank you---some younger kid with a nice, sensible haircut. I think at one point we told him to get the hell out of WV--he should. On a more-related note, Perkins' pancakes CONTINUE to dominate IHOP's. If you are in wheeling and don't know which breakfast-chain to eat at, GO HERE. Ample parking, right by 2 highways, not in a strip mall, and full of kind, understanding employees with a good sense of humor (and who don't mind subjecting themselves to singing a non-copyrighted rendition of "Happy Birthday" more than 3 times over the course of brunch. My husband, daughter, and I ordered take-out from PERKINS Restaurant & BAKERY, STORE #2564 on 680 NATIONAL ROAD, WHEELING, WV 26003 (CASHIER 17) and it could not have been more of a disaster! First of all, we were told that our order would be ready for pickup in 15 MINUTES. We waited, and waited, and waited, and our order was ready in 30 MINUTES! Second, when placing the order, my daughter asked if we were able to order a potato pancakes without the eggs and bacon, because we are vegetarians. She said there was and my daughter asked if there was only potato pancakes and nothing else, and the girl said yes. When we opened our two potato pancake platters, there were 3 strips of bacon right on top of our potato pancakes. Third, the muffins were dry as can be. Finally, my husband ordered the made to order omelet. We were told that you could have 2 items, so my husband ordered ONION AND MUSHROOM. The girl asked if he wanted CHEESE. We asked if it came with it. After finding out that it did not, my daughter said, "Then we will just go with the two vegetables.....onion and mushroom. When my husband ate his omelet, it was ONLY MUSHROOM, AND NO ONION, AND HIS OMELET WAS SLATHERED IN A YELLOW CHEESE, WHICH HE DOESN'T LIKE AND DID NOT ORDER! THE GIRL WHO TOOK OUR ORDER HAD ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT SHE WAS DOING! I would like the regional manager for this store to give me a call. I DO NOT WANT TO RECEIVE A CALL FROM THE STORE MANAGER. She knew we were upset that they told us our order would be ready in 15 minutes and it was ready in 30 minutes, AND SHE COULD HAVE CARED LESS! Our two check numbers are 1940 and 6886. Server Gena took great care of us and was very attentive to our requests. Stopped for breakfast on a Friday morning; service was fast and friendly. Omelette and eggs were cooked perfectly. Wanted bacon too but alas, it was a Friday during Lent. We both had thick cut Rye toast that was very good. Restaurant was clean and looked like it had been remodeled within the last couple years. Ordered the Southwest Avocado salad and a Ruben sandwich to go. Getting home soon after and opening the salad, I found a large amount of corn with some black beans, and a quarter size avocado. Digging in with a fork, I found some iceberg lettuce on the bottom, no "greens" to be found. I also found 5 small strips of chicken and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese. Now the Ruben was in a container with nothing to catch the condensation, soggy bread to say the least. The sandwich was very good otherwise, very flavorful. I can say their breakfast is Very good! As I was going to work on midnight I thought why not a great muffin and coffee for myself and co worker? When entering the restaurant there was no customers at the check out. I looked at the muffins and waited patiently for a clerk. Several girls (three) were in the dining area and a male came to the register. A group of people had finished eating and worked their way to the register! As I waited for my turn another group came up on the other side of me. A girl finally came to the counter to help and went right to helping the other group as if I was invisible. Maybe it was because I wasn't in dress clothes and heels. As I walked out in amazement no employees even asked if I was next or if they could help me. Great service, and love to hang out there when Im hungry late at night cause they are open late when I get off work and open 24 hours on the weekend, so I can stop in and eat on my way home. The food how ever is eh... ok,,,, not the best and the later at night it gets the less choices they have available to serve which stinks cause some times I want soup or a pot pie and then they are like hey sorry we can't cook that its to late. So I usually just get a salad then cause I mean you can't mess up a salad. They don't have hot chicken or a lot of other warm classic meals late at night so choices can be limited and the food thats served isn't all that great, but hey it fills me up when I am really hungry at night so its an alright place to eat clean and friendly and open Late! read more
