She is an experience all on her own! Her energy, her warmth, her fun personality, and the way she makes every guest feel like they're the most important person in the room is unmatched. She mixes a phenomenal drink, remembers everyone's favorites, and creates an atmosphere that makes you want to stay at the bar all night. Ashley is truly a gem -- the kind of employee every hotel dreams of having. I also want to give a huge shoutout to Eden at the front desk. He was incredibly kind, offered me water without me even asking, and went out of his way to guide me to a great spot for a late-night drink after bar hours. His thoughtfulness and genuine hospitality were so appreciated. Between Ashley's unforgettable service and Eden's kindness, this hotel made my trip exceptional. I will absolutely be staying here again -- and recommending it to everyone I know.

Truth be told - this is a Motel. Albeit, better than a Red Roof Inn, but still a motel. Pictures…read moreshared on their site show the main building where the lobby, coffee shop and restaurant/bar (The Foundry) is located, but the rooms are across a street in a large L shaped, two-story building. First the positives: The lobby and coffee shop are decorated in a fun, quirky way which creates a casual and relaxing environment. I've heard the decor described as being from a Wes Anderson movie. (I think that is an accurate description.) We would have our morning coffee over there relaxing on the comfy couches/chairs and had a surprisingly good breakfast burrito at the coffee shop. Location was good. Close to downtown, easy 10 minute walk to most things, and it was close to the North Oconee River Greenway walking trail on the other side of the river. Our room (on the second floor) was comfortable, clean, well appointed and quiet. The quietness may be due to the fact that we were possibly one of only two or three customers in the hotel those nights. Nonetheless, we slept well and have no complaints about the room. Now for some minor negatives: Staff, which comprised mostly college students, were less than friendly or attentive. At check-in, important information was not disclosed, like the optional housekeeping service, or that the restaurant/bar was not open (at all) during our stay. The $12 per day parking fee was excessive in my opinion. We were the only car in this lot - I feel like they could've waived the parking fee. And the $75 dog fee was a bit steep - but the room rate was low, so I guess it balanced out. We had to call for towels (and to replace a broken soap dispenser) repeatedly before someone finally showed up around 7 pm - I think they didn't have anyone working.... Anyhow - would I stay at this hotel again? Yes. My girlfriend probably wouldn't however. I think had it been warmer and had the Foundry been open, we probably would have had a better experience there. But, it is significantly cheaper that other hotels I looked at, and, frankly, you have to take that into consideration.

Plenty of parking and within walking distance from the university of GA and downtown Athens. Overall clean and comfortable. If I get the chance to visit Athens again, I'll stay there.

Absolutely the WORST hotel experience I've EVER had. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I was shocked by…read moreboth my front desk and Corporate discussions. I booked on the Bonvoy app and tried to use points. I didn't have enough apparently, so I purchased $250.00 worth of points to round out a two night stay. The online reservation must have switched when I changed payment to the points. In any event, the front desk said I only had one night booked, but the amount of points I purchased to cover the second night of my reservation cost more than the cost of a night here. Even writing this review is a TOTAL waste of my time. They stole my points, refused to refund my card the $250.00 so I could simply pay for the $195.00 cost of the room. All my points were stolen, including the new ones I purchased AND they chopped one night of my reservation. The front desk had their hands tied by lousy Corporate policies, so the blame for this debacle rests solely on Marriott Corporate Office. I WILL NEVER STAY AT A MARRIOTT AGAIN! I WILL GLADLY SHARE THIS STORY WITH EVERY ONE OF MY PATIENTS WHO MENTIONS TRAVEL TO ME. I WILL INFORM EVERY PROFESSIONAL COLLEAGUE, FAMILY MEMBER AND FRIEND. I'M PRETTY SURE THEY WON'T WILLINGLY SIGN UP TO BE RIPPED OFF BY MARRIOTT. LAST TIME FOR ME!

Yep, this is a big no. I will not return here…read more The photos on the website are super cool. When you walk inside, it really is very well decorated. They have a comfortable lobby and there is wonderful outdoor seating. The room is also very nice. It is clean and fresh and has many items you would like a room to have. However, you will immediately notice the train tracks right outside the window. During the day there are many people walking the tracks and if you are on the 2nd floor as I was, they can look straight into your room. The trains do not seem to be especially noisy, but they were loud enough to wake me up while sleeping. They offer a comfy bed, but the pillows are very uncomfortable as to be unusable. They say they offer breakfast, which is not complimentary, however it is a window where an attendant will make a coffee for you and heat up stale danishes and quiches which are completely inedible. The dinner meals are not worth the time or money spent. The best part of this hotel were the receptionists who cheerfully offered to bring our doordash meals to our room. This hotel is a hard pass going forward.

Oh the fun part, train goes by all night, horn, screech and all. But they do provide ear plugs and a loud white noise maker. We changed our room from right next to the tracks to other side facing parking lot and heard everything. By the way, walls are thiiiiiin. I mean toilet paper thin. So if you got 400-500 a night to burn anything else would have a better return. Just saying. Great concept totally the wrong place.
