This hotel doesn't have the best reviews but I didn't personally have a problem. We were in town for a wedding so it was a short stay. The front desk staff was friendly. I only interacted with two staff members during my stay though. On to the room. Our room was clean and tidy upon our check in, bathroom included. They didn't refill the complimentary bath soaps, lotion, etc before our arrival. Another guest at the wedding said the same thing. We didn't interact with housekeeping because we stayed for two nights so we put the 'still sleeping' sign on our door. They had complimentary breakfast. It was your standard 'hotel' breakfast. Eggs, sausage, toast, waffles, bagels, fruit, etc. My only complaint was I wish they had toppings for the oatmeal like they did for the waffles. Check out was a smooth process and I didn't have any charges or issues once I returned home. read more

Zero consideration for a late cancellation requests due to a family emergency. The hotel would have made more money by allowing a cancellation and rebooking the reservation to another party or if the room didn't rebook then charge me. It was a zero lose scenario for the hotel but now they have a lifetime Hilton honors diamond member disappointed and sharing my experience. My advice and encouragement would be to look for any other option and if this happens to be your only option I can only hope that nothing disrupts your plans. read more

Pleasant check-in, quick and easy. Nice room, kids enjoyed the pool, and the breakfast was plenty before hitting the road for the last leg to Gulf Shores.The lady in charge of breakfast gave our grandkids coloring books and crayons to take with them. A really nice touch and appreciated. Our 7 year old granddaughter colored a page for her as a thanks and she genuinely appreciated it. We will stop there every-time from now on. read more

This hotel is a bit of a hit and miss. The staff is quite nice, that's for sure, no complaints with them...except for when we needed to switch rooms. We unexpectedly had to extend our stay by one night (not a problem), so we made an additional reservation. It seems tho the staff did not communicate the change to the day staff. We were continually disturbed by cleaning staff who needed to clean our room and do their jobs...but we couldn't leave our room until the new room was ready (we had our cats with us.) It seems to me someone should have let the cleaners know to clean our 2nd room as soon as they could instead of in order. And as you can see by the paw prints from our cats jumping on top of the closet...they never dust up there (a big problem for people with dust allergies.) Our first room really wasn't bad, but the ac/heater was a little tricky to figure out and the fridge froze everything wr put into it (there was no way to adjust the temp.) Our second room (a more expensive room) only had the benefit of more space, that's it. And, it has the LOUDEST plumbing I've ever heard, seriously...there is something wrong with the plumbing in room 420, this room should not be sold until this is fixed. Their tvs also need upgrading to smart tvs. The channel guide is a pain to use and programming is limited. At least allow people to log in to their Netflix or prime. Lastly, if you are looking for a quiet location this isn't it. I've never heard so many sirens, not even in NYC. They are constant here and the traffic outside is very loud, these rooms really could use more soundproofing. read more

Ok so let me explain the * I received $50 back from Christopher after this horrible stay. I checked in and went to my room 510 Room smelled musty when I walked in but didn't think much about it until about 30 minutes later when I realized about 6 foot of the carpet by the ac was completely soaked. I put 5 towels down and within a few minutes they were completely soaked through as well. The poor lady @ the front desk was clearly upset about it but she didn't have anyone there that could help me out. I also discovered the fridge wasn't working as well so fast forward to 4:45 am when I go to get in the shower and discover that surprise the dang shower doesn't work either seriously what else could go wrong with rbis stay. I screwed around with the thing for 20 minutes and was finally able to get it to spray. Overall I was upset with my stay but I guess the $50 back helps but throughout the day today it really should've been a full refund. Listen I stay @ hotels 3-4 nights every week across the country & this was a first for me. To have so many things go wrong during a stay should never happen read more

In town for a show. Staying at a different place than we normally stay. Upon arrival check in was super fast and easy. The elevators are very fast thry arrived within seconds of hitting the button. I did my customary inspection of the room and it passed with flying colors. The remote, table tops and the bathroom are all very clean. We have a friend staying with us for the 1st thru the 3rd night and then we get the last night to ourselves. From what I've seen so far this is a much better place to stay at than where we're used to stay...the 'dazed inn'. Getting ready to go down for breakfast right now so I'll review that in a few. Back and they have just about everything. Waffles, cereal, pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon, hard boiled eggs, smoothies and fresh pressed juice...Yummy!! Back to the room for a shower...in the clean super white caulked shower/bathtub. Great water pressure and easy to use/reach shower head for short people. There are plenty of outlets for charging devices on the night stand. The desk area is small but perfect sized with bright lights. I wish the chair was leather or fake leather instead of cloth...gross. There is a microwave and fridge. The closet is nice sized with doors; ironing board, iron and extra blanket..and plenty of hangers. A little pricey for us but well worth the $125 a night with taxes. Would've given 5 stars, but I had to take a half a star for not having a fan in the bathroom and another half for no indoor pool and hot tub. Regardless we will be back again. read more

Needing Training! Referring the Entire Front Office Staff to: Give 'em the Pickle by Bob Farrell - Customer Service Training The front office staff was unfriendly from start to finish. So, I arrived Monday 2/`3/2025, and I encountered Autumn. I wanted a suite, and she told me they didn't have that accommodation, but Comfort Inn did, and maybe I wanted to go there. I told her I had looked at that and liked Hampton better because they had wood on the floor and not carpet. I then asked as a Gold Member, can I upgrade to a King-room. She stated we might not have one later, as check-in is at 4 pm. I asked her if I checked in now, could I have the upgrade, and she stated YES. Once I checked in and picked the queens, I went back and told her I had checked in and asked if I could get the room now. She checked me in and gave me the key to the queen. I returned and identified that this was not the upgrade. She identified then, "we don't have enough of them open to give you one; we have to sell those first." I identified I asked you just now, and she identified, "I must have misunderstood. I have a King, but you will have to pay for it." I asked her the price, and she said 10.00 extra a night. I said OKAY, I don't care! I then asked if they had a Disability room because I had a bad hip and often slip and fall. I had my disability tag in my car if she needed it. She identified "NO; we don't have enough of those to give you one." Mind you readers, I am booking online and seeing what they have available. I then asked her if I should just cancel this reservation to get the room I need. She identified Yes, you can try. I booked the disability/king room and came right back up to the desk. She stated, "oh, now that is not available; someone just booked it, I'm sorry!" I said, "I know it was me! Another front desk AA woman (I don't know her name) came up. Autumn asked her how she could move my cash reservation over to the Disability room, as when she tried at first, it wouldn't allow her to. She could move it over, and they would still be alright. I injected and identified, "No, I need the cash reservation canceled as I'm using points for the disability room." (See, I pay cash when I want to build up my points, but at this point, the LIE has made me want to get rid of all my points and just stay with my Ambassador Status with Marriott)! She was never trying to transfer me over; she was trying to dump me in what she felt I needed and disregarded that she had no intention of meeting none of my needs. I then ask for a late check out when I leave. She stated, "You have to come ask that on your day of checkout, and the latest here is Noon." By this time, 45 minutes had passed, and my husband had arrived with my bags, and we were still working on getting things right. Needless to say, I finally got a Disability room, which at best was okay. On Tuesday, I met Bree, and explained that I might be checking out Wednesday, and I would need a late check out. I would not know until 7 pm, but I would let her know. I then let her know that I was offered no water, snacks, or points when I checked in. She identified, "Which do you want? You can let me know when you know, and late checkout is at Noon, and you can ask in the morning if you checkout." The coldness and rolled eyes, like I was getting on her nerves, took me back. I just walked away and went to the Restaurant next door to have some Amazing Customer Service! Well, on my way back, I walked in, and Bree was checking in another guest. She was just as friendly and smiling with the gentlemen. I just kept walking; I wanted her to enjoy her moment of kindness. I ended up staying over. Wednesday came, and I was so happy that I only had one more day of Teaching Customer Service Training. They had given me what I needed to tell my class how NOT TO BE! But Amazingly, I met a kind woman (I think her name was Amy, sorry if I am wrong) putting out breakfast for the guest. She greeted me, asked if I needed anything, gave a smile, and made the morning positive. Of course, I had to incorporate her into my class and let them know that sometimes, that is all it takes to make a person's day or save their lives! Wednesday, I went to the Restaurant next door again, and there I met a couple that was staying at the hotel as well. I was speaking on my stay, and they identified how poor the customer service was at the hotel as well. They were unhappy, and identified that a friend had already told them to beware! Thursday morning finally came, Thank GOD! I went to the Front Desk to ask about the late check out. Mike was the clerk, and I explained that they identified that I had to get up and come ask for a late checkout. He asked, "How late would you like to check out?" I said 1 pm, he looked at my room and the notes apparently, and stated "oh Bree had already put it in, for Noon and that is the latest checkout you can have. Worst Hampton Inn I have ever stayed it. It was so bad that I am writing this review one year after I stayed there upon returning to Athens. The hotel was run down and dirty. Staff was generally not that helpful and was often unavailable. The breakfast was the worst of any Hampton Inn I have stayed at. Particularly bad was the so called suite I stayed in. Small room, very rundown with an old incredibly uncomfortable pull out couch for the second bed. Hope it has gotten better. read more

Pulled into the parking lot around 6pm. Within 10 seconds of my opening my car door, I was surprised by two homeless women asking for money. They wanted to talk, and no thanks, we are in a pandemic. Stayed here one night. I usually have high expectations and good experiences with Hampton and Hilton, but this one isn't up to par. Within minutes of being in the room, a big roach scurried across the floor. The room smelled like pee and there was a water bottle cap under the fitted sheet. We had reservations that were on the weekend of the UGA Tennessee game, and we tried to cancel over a week ahead of time because a close family member was diagnosed with cancer and we had to go see here instead. Very pleased with the property. Checkin was very easy and Cassandra was very personable. Prior to my retirement from the FAA I always stayed at Hilton properties when I traveled. I was always pleased with the customer service people that I came in contact with but I must say that Cassandras ability to make you feel welcome and at home rises to the top. read more

This hotel isn't a bad place to stay at all for a few days, and the front desk staff are very friendly and helpful! the bed was very comfy and the room size and layout were fine. The hotel could certainly use an update in that it appears to be a bit worn in the decor and such. everything works fine, and they have a nice little gym so that is a plus! wifi very good, parking is easy. convenient location. Breakfast was very good and the coffee was out all the time, definite pluses!! I would love to see an update of decor and I think this hotel could be 4-5 stars no problem at all! overall I would not hesitate to stay again. read more

The room and hotel appearance were fine. It was a little outdated but there are other hotels much worse. The big problem was the roach coming out of the mirror and a roach shell on the air conditioner. Seen a lot of other reviews about various bugs, disappointing to see a Hilton property so blatantly neglecting proper cleaning/inspection. Heard great things about breakfast, it was disappointing. Pool was closed with a bike lock. They also came knocking on our door an hour before check out. Furthermore, after trying to contact Hilton after being given only POINT from the front desk for our ROACH, the site's reCAPTCHA was invalid? So bad. they are heavily renovating. All day drilling. Hot water off for periods of time. They should NOT be renting out rooms. Parking was hard to find. Staff was apologetic. I kept waiting for them to offer a discount. They didn't. You cannot imagine what driving from 9-5 all day is like. Apologetic but no offer of refund or partial refund. We tried to change rooms. The room smells funny. Then the hairdryer doesn't work. Today I asked the front desk for a hair dryer and she called me to say they are all attached to the walls. Obviously she isn't a problem solver. She should have had an employee unscrew the two screws holding it on in an empty room and replaced my broken hairdryer. Bed bugs in two rooms 207 and 407. I am an HH Rewards and have even stayed in this hotel before. I stay in hamptons all across the country and never had this happen. I travel for work every week, i am always sure to check my beds before I settle in. As soon as I pulled the top sheet off there was I bug crawling under the pillow. I took a pic and went to the front desk, she was very nice and apologized, I asked for a room on another floor. I got to the room and went through my normal routine. Pulled blanket down, the sheet, then pillows... And right there in almost the same spot was another bed bug crawling around. I took a short video, called down, and booked a room at another hotel. Although the hallway on the 5th floir feels like your in a sauna, the hotel is nice. The hotel was doing some sort of renovation this morning but was no biggie. The rooms are nice and clean...checkin was simple.. Its about 2 mi from the downtown area.. The price of the hotel was more pricer than id expect but i would recommend it. This hotel does not live up to the standards of a Hilton brand. When I walked into my room, I was greeted with an odor masked by heavy air freshener and bleach. So I made my exit and walked all the way back to the front desk and asked her nicely 'Who died in that room?' She responded with the most bizarre poker face! On my forth stay at this property, I felt compelled to post a review. At our last stay....the people working the desk re assigned our room to an older couple who thought the room was empty. They walked into our room with the key which was given to them by the bohemian college students working check in. My son freaked and called me when I was in the workout area. When I asked the desk staff what the deal was....they seemed mildly concerned they could have given a key to our room to Charles Manson. There is a out o order sign on one treadmill....since I can remember. I must be a gluten for mediocrity staying here 4 times, but I am in it for the Hilton points I suppose. Lastly, as with most Hampton Inns, the breakfast is just bad on most days and the coffee tastes like it was brewed with gravel instead of coffee beans. read more

This place has gone downhill so fast. Super noisy, always so gross and dirty. Staff pretty much invisible or doing the bare minimum. Less than inspiring breakfast. Just so disappointing given what they are able to charge. But once again, not much choice on busy weekends in Athens. You have to stay somewhere. This is a average Hampton Inn, not bad for a one night stay. Typical breakfast buffet although I could not stay in the room to eat because they had the air on way to low. It was freezing. Many restaurants within walking distance so that's a plus. Hotel is undergoing some outside renovations therefore no signage telling you this is a Hampton Inn but that's just temporary. We had a king studio suite and the room itself was fine but the bathroom was tiny with very little counter space. The only problem we encountered was when we got ready to leave in the morning with our luggage the elevators were not working. We are on the 4th floor so that was it good. read more

I don't generally love chains (hotel or otherwise) but this Hampton Inn was very nice. There was free coffee waiting for us in the lounge, and the room came with free wireless Internet. The room featured a nice king bed with fluffy pillows and dark wood cabinetry. The bathroom was also more luxurious than you'd expect from a Hampton inn: granite counter tops and tile flooring made it seem fairly upscale. The service was friendly and helpful (as Hampton Inns usually are) and the breakfast was more than you'd expect from a free hotel breakfast. It was advertised as a "hot breakfast" but the only hot things were gravy (for the biscuits) and pre-made egg pucks, which vaguely resembled fried eggs. (Think the egg part of an egg mcmuffin.) Other parts of the breakfast were very nice, though -- fresh biscuits, lots of good fruit, and several kinds of cereal. It was a very nice breakfast -- especially for being free. read more

I was in Athens for three day weekend, and I stayed at the Hampton Inn. I was on the 5th floor and I felt like I was in a penthouse. The views of the Atlanta highway were spectular. I'm a Hilton Rewards member, and I will always book hotels under Hilton. It's shows as 4.2 Stars on the website, but I give this one a 5% stars. All COVID-19 restrictions are in place. read more

I have stayed at many Hampton Inn Hotels, but NEVER at this one again! We stayed 2 nights, but no one came in on day 2 to make the bed and give us fresh towels. The Breakfast experience was the worst! I understand that the virus has changed how we do things, but the woman who was serving the food was rude and extremely unpleasant. On top of that, breakfast is supposed to be available at 6 am and I had to get on the road by 6:15. She was just beginning to set up at 6 am and treated us like we were interfering with her day. The final nail in the coffin, was check out. The night manager didn't greet or say anything other than to offer a nasty face when I asked for a receipt. We have stayed at this Hampton Inn several times over the last year and a half. I am always impressed with how clean the rooms and common areas are. I have been there when they have turned over the entire hotel ( ie after a UGA football game) and have witnessed them working into the night deep cleaning each and every room. I'm definitely a Hampton person; all I stay at when I travel is Hamptons, and this is without a doubt the worst I have ever stayed in. The staff was rude and unoccomadating, and the walls were paper thin. I could literally hear the shower running in the room next to mine. Usually Hamptons are in nicer areas that I feel safe in, but this one seems out of place and dilapidated. Good for hampton inns. They have a fitness room that has treadmills and weights so I like that a lot. Room lounge and everything else was typical for a hampton inn. It is on a busy street but it's close to UGA. Outside Pool was closed for winter but prob wouldn't want to use it in the summer since it's right on a busy street. Lots of good food options though within walking distance which is a huge plus. read more

I use to work at this location before I went to work at the hospital and I can say when I go stay at places I ONLY stay with groups that are with Hilton Honors because they keep it up and continuously do inspections.
