Based on our past experiences the programs are fabulous and my daughter loved it. Programs such as this are essential for today's youth development. It is awesome that this organization provides scholarship programs to those in need. Unfortunately, they are completely inflexible when dealing with those paying the full tuition rate. Once they have your registration funds they stop caring. We were excited to find this option including extended day care allowing us to work the full day (as required by employers) during the schools summer break. Unfortunately, less than 24 hours after registering, I had an adjustment in my work schedule that meant this camp will not work for us due to scheduling and logistics. When requesting to cancel/refund, less than 24 hours after registering, I was told there was absolutely no refunds for any or all of the tuition. They proudly noted that the funds had already been pulled from our account and would NOT be returned. I inquired....Perhaps this could be transferred for use at a spring break or winter camp? No! Perhaps a future after school program? No! Perhaps they could refund the extended care and t-shirt cost? No! I shared that we need these funds for childcare/camp that better coincides with our work schedule. No! For an organization claiming to care enough about humans and the financial affairs of attendees to offer scholarships they have no concern for those who encounter issues after they have received their registration dollars. Not once did they ask why I might be cancelling the registration. Even more disturbing was the level of sarcasm and indifference from staff, including management, when discussing the matter on the phone. Customer service is absolutely incredible in the most terrible way. Never, ever, will I do business with this organization again.Shall we have the opportunity in the future there are many other organizations offering similar programs that we will reach out to. read more

Performing Arts Workshops' ACTOR'S SIZZLE REEL CAMP is a blend of academics and filmmaking. The kids will get to write, direct, act-in, film and edit their own Sizzle Reel...which will be an edited video compilation of each child's best 3 performances. The campers will have the opportunity to explore roles and scenes spanning a variety of acting genres including drama, comedy, action, commercial, theatrical and even voiceover. The curriculum includes workshops in acting technique, diction & accents, and character study which will help the kids to create acting clips that demonstrate a variety of performances from theatrical scenes, to comedy and monologues as well as news-casting and commercials! The curriculum will also provide instruction on storyboarding, script writing, and the campers will even learn how to "film crew" for each other! Finally, they will learn how to edit and master their own sizzle reel. To participate kids need to be between the ages of 9 to 14 and each camper will receive a flash drive of their Sizzle Reel to share and enjoy at home. WE loVE ThiS CAMP! Its truly amazing. And if your kids are creative, this camp has so many possibilities! We do the musical theatre and the film making, but there are tons of different camp options. (guitar, rock the mic, magic, special effect make up, Photography etc!), and they recently added a Stand up Comedian camp too! WHAT?! Its won a few awards! Please check it out! We've been to this camp for a few years in a row now and my kids love it so much, My son always asks why he can't go to an actual school like this! His confidence and skills have grown so much through this program. REASONS TO GO: First of all the Counselors are amazing! Up beat fun and exciting... The kids are ENGAGED and HAVING FUN all day! Its a serious good time. The shows they put on are incredible for the amount of time they have to prepare. The families all have similar interests and great friends are made. Confidence and skills building. And the biggest thing for me in the Musical Theatre camp is how the kids learn the songs, dances, and lines in JUST 2 weeks! An amazing experience -- we keep coming back! My daughter has attended PAW Performance Theatre Workshop three times now, and she has absolutely loved every single moment. Over the past couple of years she's performed in Mary Poppins, and then Barbie and Wicked this past year, and each production has been such a joy to watch. The workshop has helped her grow so much -- not just in her acting, singing, and stage confidence, but as a person. She's come out of every session more confident, expressive, and excited about performing. What stands out most is the warm, friendly atmosphere. The staff are encouraging and patient, and they create a space where every child feels included, supported, and celebrated. My daughter has learned so much, made wonderful friends, and built memories she'll treasure. Last year when I asked my 8 year old son if he wanted to join his friend at PAW, he said NO!!! He didn't want to have anything to do with Snow White!! He decided to give it a try if I promised that he wouldn't be Snow White :) I have to say that the PAW summer camp turned out to be the most amazing experience for him. He made amazing friends that he kept in touch with! He loved his teachers, especially Miss Jessica! Every day he would ask me to take him there at 7 AM and pick him up after 3. The final play was simply wonderful. I just couldn't believe how the teachers were able to bring out the best in the kids. The staff was extra friendly and accommodating. At the end, my son asked me if he could go to the Performing Arts school instead of his regular school. We are doing at least 2 sessions this Summer and we are SO excited! read more

As a proud parent, I cannot speak highly enough about the PAWs Speech and Debate summer camp. My 11-year-old daughter had an absolutely amazing experience. The instructors were not only knowledgeable and passionate about speech and debate, but they were also incredibly supportive and encouraging. My 12 year old has been searching for a camp with peers to learn stage makeup as well as Stage FX makeup! A friend came across a flyer from Performing Arts Workshops and my son is thrilled to be attending camp this Summer!
