This place used to be an incredible shop but the new owners have chosen a different path. Today was our first experience with the new ownership/staff and wouldn't you know out of the blue we needed thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs starting with $700 to seal a leaking oil pan that isn't actually having any issues at all, work on both leaking differentials that are also not experiencing any problems and a laundry list of other things like needing to fill our DEF tank (it's an '06..there is no DEF or a tank for it Isaac, so what exactly are you charging for...) They also target women. When I spoke with them, the leaking oil pan was confirmed to be a serious problem. When my husband spoke with them 5 minutes later and asked why there were no oil spots in our driveway or any issues with oil pressure registering on the dash, it was all quickly dismissed. Nope. New ownership is going to run the reputation of the shop straight into the ground and they've guaranteed our business goes elsewhere. read more

Used to be a great company years ago but something has changed dramatically at this shop, practically overnight, an absolute service nightmare con job. Brought in my truck to have black/white tailpipe smoke exhaust addressed last month on April 24th. After 30+ days (Yes 30 days) of excuses they finally called to say the truck repair was completed and the tailpipe exhaust is now minimal. As you can see on the video at checkout, that's a bunch of horseshit. After paying the $3K invoice (the 3K out of pocket was after an exhausting meeting with management where they dropped the price from almost $4K) I was told it would run me another $5K in fuel injector work to address the tailpipe smoke repair. WTF? Initially the estimate was actually over $12,000 but they assured me the $4K work on the turbo would eliminate the tailpipe smoke. Interesting that a full inspection was conducted only 2K miles ago with no mention of the laundry list equating to $12000 of new work. Buyers, just know if they respond that I elected not to have the injector work done, that is also horseshit. They said the 4K turbo/manifold work would take care of the tailpipe smoke issue. Today, after all this wasted time & money, I'm 3K out of pocket, a 30 day loss of income, & a truck that is completely inoperable due to the massive tailpipe smoke exhaust (that is unless I'm okay creating dangerous smoke clouds for other drivers). I'm mortified that this company actually had the nerve to tell me my truck was ready for pick up today, just to have the manager tell me straight to my face they made a mistake on the diagnostics & needed another $5000 to replace all of the fuel injectors. Con job scam, bait n switch. Buyer beware. read more

Service: Auto emissions testing Not a good experience at all went in for a emissions test they did it quick and fine but came out to drive away and found that all my dash warning light were on I went in and I was a little heated up tried talking to the service manager about the issues and he holds up a sheet of paper stating they are not responsible for this and it should maybe go away I told him they should be stating this to their customers when signing them up for the emissions test. Then the owner meets me at my truck as I am trying to leave a belittled me degrades me and is being a totally a real piece or sh!t to me. I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone at all. My dad took my truck to performance wise and he couldn't stop raving about how professional and knowledgeable the technicians are. He mentioned a young technician named Jake or Jacob i believe and it gives me hope that i can one day understand and work on my own truck. Its running fantastic now and i finally feel confident to drive my truck and not have it blow up! My dad didn't throw a fit about the price so it must have been a good deal, or maybe he was just in a good mood. I brought my diesel in for my annual emission test yesterday and despite 0% opacity for all speeds in the lug down test the "technician" failed the truck because he felt as though it had a suspicious exhaust. All emission equipment on my truck is completely intact and stock but I have a larger exhaust than stock which does not incorporate a muffler and the DPF/ cat section is flanged. The tech went on to accuse me of hollowing out the DPF (because he could hear the turbo through the exhaust). I asked him how the truck was able to pass with 0% opacity with a hollowed out DPF and his response was "they can do some pretty crazy stuff with tunes these days". At this point I'd had enough nonsense and told him I would like a refund, which he laughed at, shrugged his shoulders and told me I could talk to his manager. I spoke to the manager, they backed him up and refused to refund my money. They referred me to the the state inspection center. I set up an appointment today, had the truck reinspected and they had no problems with it. I was very unhappy with the way I was treated by the Performance Wise staff and I will never spend money there again! read more

I brought my truck in about 11 months ago for a check engine light. They called told me I needed a egr they said the repair would cost about 2k I said okay I picked up the truck and codes came back right away. I dropped the truck off again and they told me this time that the exhaust isnt getting hot enough due to bad thermostat to clean itself they quote me 800 I paid. I picked up the truck and once again the codes were back. I told the guy I was out of town for a few month (isaac) he said he would Make note in computer. I dropped the truck off for the same 2 codes again and they called and told me this time you need a def tank heater they told me the cost was right about 1800 but they continued to tell me how it was going to fix those codes so I agreed and paid. I picked up the truck and drove away from the shop to have the same codes come on again. I called talked with Isaac told him same codes were back he said to bring it back I did but before I brought it back I pulled into a diesel tuning shop and showed the guy my receipts what they had replaced over the last 3 repairs which totaled to almost $5000. He plug into my computer went over some live data and pops the hood pulls the intake tube off and removes the air filter he then proceeds to look at me and laugh as he drops the air filter on the ground and a pile of dirt falls out of the air filter literally enough to fill a dust pan. The "new technician" proceeds to tell me that the cause of the two codes and the turbo code the other shop has been trying to repair is simply a terrible disgusting air filter the guy nicely cleaned up my air filter and reinstalled but we did not clear the codes so we could leave for performance wise to inspect by his mechanic "ERIC" (who has done all repairs to my Duramax) I instantly noticed more power and better performance when I left the tuning shop with a clean air filter. I brought my truck back to performance wise for them to look at the 2 codes that have persisted over the last year. They called me today and told me well this time you need a new turbo but we hope it fixes those two codes cost was quoted at about 5k. I went in talked to the owner. He was not able to explain why those two codes have persisted over the last 3 repairs they have done all he kept saying was well replaced the part that tested bad. Well yes I agree you did but it did not fix my problem. We continued to argue at how I was 5k deep into a problem that codes still persist. He got very irritated that he wasn't able to talk his way out of the situation of his mechanic Misdiagnosing those two codes multiple times. He also continued to tell me it's not his mechanics fault that it's no ones fault that basically they just test and toss a part in and hope for the best. Conversation eventually got heated you could see the owner was getting so frustrated as to why he couldn't answer why the same two codes have persisted a year I have spent on 3 different repairs a total of 5k but that didn't fix those two codes problems. But as his employees Isaac and Eric say that the parts they replaced the last 3 times were supposed to fix those codes. He even had the nerve to tell me that his mechanic Eric noted that he cleaned the air filter on the last time it was in but 20 minutes later I was at another tuning shop and that guy dropped my air filter on the ground to make a literal pile of dirt all around the air filter which was obviously a lie. I asked the owner what he was going to do for me and he said basically nothing because it's not my fault or my mechanics fault that the same codes are still there. Come to find out that this place does NOT stand behind the work they do not do they stand behind there mechanics. As I was leaving I said have a great day I will be taking my truck elsewhere. The owners response was "I would say have a nice day but screw you". This shop is nothing but a scam and a parts throwing shop they do not stand behind there work performed. I work so much that I hardly have time to bring my truck in for any maintenance. Most of the time my wife takes it in for the oil changes and filters. Every time my wife has gone in, Nick not only remembers her name he always asks about our family. He also makes it a point to call me and give me updates instead of expecting my wife to fill me in later. I was fully expecting to be taken advantage of because of all the known problems with this motor. However, I dropped the truck off on Monday evening. They called me first thing on Tuesday morning to let me know what the diagnosis was.... Four bad injectors, a bad camshaft sensor, and a bad glow plug... After discussing the options with Nick, I chose to replace all 8 injectors, have the camshaft repaired, have the glow plug replaced, and have the oil changed while they were at it. Nick gave me a quote for all the repair, that to me sounded more than fair for the amount of work needed to be done. To my surprise not only did they have my truck ready for pickup by Wednesday afternoon, the total for all the repairs was less then what I was quoted. Again I can't express my gratitude enough to this company. My truck is running better than it ever has in the three years that I've owned it. I am now a customer for life. read more

I took my truck here for the past 3 years. Always was treated well and fairly. Took my truck here recently and the service for my issue sucked. They used to treat you with a helping hand and a concern for you and the vehicle. I was here on Nov 19. 2021 and asked for my problem to be reviewed, They couldn't fix it.. I paid them and asked if they could check once again.. They said "if I turn your key on I have to charge you". I already paid them and they wanted to charge me more. Avoid this place. i have been taking my Ford here for years until today. I checked the web and nowhere does it say you need an appointment for an emissions. I then went to Lake Arbor off 88th and they got me in and out in no time. no appointment needed and yet they were very safe and sanitary.. so, that being said, the boys over at Performance wise are so concerned with covid that I think everyone should take their business elsewhere as to not risk getting these guys sick. spoke to a customer at Lake Arbor and she said they are great to deal with. I can understand having to have an appointment for service but not emissions. so sorry Performance but you will not get my business from here on out. update your web site and inform people an appointment is needed for a simple emissions or prepare to give business to thoes who want and need the work with out all the covid games. you folks probably have enough work to keep you going but im done. its worth driving the extra few miles to get fast friendly business. read more

I have a Super Duty F250 that needed an oil change and an inspection. What I got was a reasonable appointment date, a call regarding needing to replace its tie rods and a replacement clamp for the turbo charger. The job took only one day and the price was lower than originally quoted. My truck runs like a dream. Straight forward, quick and efficient. Johnny, who is the Service Coordinator, whom I worked with is clear, personable and easy to deal with. He has made my experience trouble free. I will be bringing my Ford in for all future services. Performance Wise claimed no responsibility For this and refused to lock it up in the shop due to the door lock being punched out in the break in And it Not being repaired(disabled) overnight. They stated this has happened before. They said Nothing of this lot being unsafe. Do not trust this business. read more

I went to Performance Wise for an emissions test on my 2003 Volkswagen Jetta diesel. When I got there I was immediately greeted and told it would take 15 minutes for them to complete the test. So I sat down in one of the comfy chairs in their waiting area and started to watch TV. Within 5 minutes the tech came back and said my test was completed. He quickly checked me out, and I was done. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend them to anybody. read more

This place is absolutely one of the best diesel shops in Arvada/Wheat Ridge area. Had to have our Excursion towed from the mountains yesterday when it stopped running. These guys knew exactly was wrong and had the truck fixed and on the way within the hour. We use them for emissions, oil changes and repair and can't stress enough their honesty, timeliness and thoroughness when it comes to repairs. I never had a problem with them nick is great to work with hes very knowledgeable when he says your truck will be ready in 1 day or 2 days it's ready by then the mechanic's are verey good at what they do they have good prices I think there more then fair with there prices and when you get your truck back it runs theirs no takeing it back I will never go to any other place but performance wise their verey trustful people. read more

I'm new to diesel trucks, so when things go bad I have no idea of how to repair it, nor have a clue as to where to take it to get repaired, I looked on line and found Performance Wise and then called around to 3 other shops that were all back logged yet they all recommended calling Performance Wise. I had a problem with my 99' f250 7.3, it was running rough and lost power suddenly, I called John at Performance Wise on Monday and made a rez for repair on Tuesday, took it limping to the shop, shortly John called me and told me what the problems were and I ok'd the repairs. Later John called me back and said the work. The charges actually were about $150.00 dollars less than the original quote, man did I have a sigh of relief!!! Here's the thing, this shop could have charged me allot more for doing nothing and I would not have been the wiser, instead this is an honest shop and I can only say thanks to Performance Wise for fixing my truck and NOT sticking it to me! What a place! Not often do you happen upon a place that blows you away. Nick and his staff accomplished that for me. Out of town truck quits on a Friday, tow truck driver recommended( I was going to go to a dealership) dropped off late morning. Nick told me they would diagnose and be back In touch in a couple of hours and indicated Monday or Tuesday as a potential completion date. Before my ride arrived had a initial update of a bad injector. At 4:00 I get a call that the truck is ready and running great. No ride so they let me pick it up Saturday because that also retrieved my door keypad code ( which I never had as I bought the truck used) WOW what exemplary service. I've got an F250 6.0 PowerStroke with over 250,000 miles on it (yup) so it has been in to Performance Wise a few times and they're doing a great job keeping it running! Nice clean shop both in the garage and the waiting area and everyone's very friendly. We were heading out for a camping trip last weekend and the alternator went out. I called Performance Wise about 4pm Thursday afternoon and got the truck there by about 4:20 on the 5th wheel battery. They installed a new alternator and got us back on the road! I use performance wise located near I 70 and Ward Road to get my diesel tested for emissions they are quick. And very reasonable on their prices. If I need any diesel related repairs done they are the best and most knowledgeable about diesels. If you have a diesel like me I would try them if I were you. read more

We were pretty sure the transmission problem on our f350 diesel was with the radiator. It was overheating under load. They replaced radiator and it is running great now. Took sled trailer to vail pass with no problems. read more

Went here to get our diesel truck emissions tested. They couldn't figure out how to do it and we're really rude about the whole thing. Went to AKISP off of Federal and they did it in less than 20 minutes. My recommendation? Don't go here. Go to AKISP. read more

Horrible. I brought my truck there to fix a front wheel squeak, spent $4k there doing fixes they recommended and when my truck broke right in there lot within 1 second of starting it after their work, the only thing the owner was concerned with is "Not my Fault". Amazing. I trusted them with thousands of dollars on my truck in the past. Not anymore. $4k later the front wheel still squeaks. They did not even fix that. Too bad - I trusted them. read more
