Frustrating experience with incomplete repairs, poor communication, licensing issues, and undisclosed installation methods. I hired Performance Windows for a full window replacement at my home in Reno. They offered free labor because the home was supposed to be used as a display/advertising house. We financed the project through a third-party lender. From the beginning, there were problems: * The itemized invoice lacked a clear breakdown of materials versus labor. * When I requested the contractor's license, they gave me a Nevada license number belonging to a different company (Sky View Windows and Doors) that was suspended at the time for a DIR violation. They also provided an expired Utah license for the lead installer. After repeated requests and verification through the Nevada State Contractors Board, the Sky View license was eventually reinstated, but the lack of transparency was concerning. * Performance Windows operates mainly as a sales company and uses Sky View as the installation crew. This was not clearly explained upfront. * They did not disclose that they would overlay the new windows onto the old existing surrounding wood frames. When the old windows were removed, this loosened those wooden frames from the wall and created gaps. Those gaps later caused leaks. After installation, multiple repairs were needed: * A sliding door screen needed replacement (this was eventually completed). * A dining room window started leaking after heavy rain. The crew sealed the original wood panel that had been ripped out during the initial install. The sealant had to dry before testing, so I still don't know if the leak is truly fixed. * Bathroom and laundry room windows were supposed to get proper frame replacements. Instead, the installer only cut plastic pieces, which exposed holes. The smaller bathroom windows still do not open fully -- they claim this is "part of their design." * There was also a gap in the flooring caused by the smaller slider door installation. Beyond the repairs, the overall performance of the new windows has been disappointing: * Even though the windows may look better, our house is noticeably hotter than it was with the old windows. * We are now getting bugs coming into the house. Communication and scheduling were consistently poor: * Appointments were missed or delayed. * On one visit, the installer arrived late, a different crew showed up first with no knowledge of the other repairs, and the main installer forgot several items and had to leave mid-visit to buy supplies at Home Depot. * The crew often seemed rushed to finish and leave. While the sliding door screen was eventually replaced, the overall handling of the project has been disappointing. Multiple issues remain unresolved or only partially addressed. The combination of incomplete work, undisclosed installation methods, performance problems, and lack of professionalism made this a stressful experience. I would not recommend Performance Windows. If you're considering them, verify their contractor licensing status independently through the Nevada State Contractors Board, ask detailed questions about their installation method (especially whether they overlay onto existing frames), and get everything in writing before signing. read more

Despite a clearly marked and posted "No Soliciting" sign on the front door, Brandon from the marketing team knocked on my door to upgrade my windows. He proposed my "beautiful home" for their advertising campaign. I would be responsible for 50% of the cost, provided I agreed to post a sign in my yard for 6 months advertising their business, wrote up a positive review about their installation and the windows themselves, and agree to have my home photographed for up to a year for their advertising, no compensation to me. I listened to the whole speech without interrupting. He looked at a good time today (during the Holidays) to see when he could send someone over to go over options. I told him I wasn't interested to which he responded "You could have started with that". Read the sign buddy. You wasted your own time knocking on the door and jumping into your sales pitch. Just had a salesman come to my home. I was actually interested in getting a quote because we had been thinking of replacing windows within the year. While trying to setup a time to meet the sales person insisted my spouse be in on the meeting. 3 things.....First i never mentioned i had a spouse. Second, our schedules are such that we are rarely home together this time of year. Third, i guess they won't do business with a single female. I told them i am the CFO of the family and make all financial decisions. They kept insisting that my spouse had to be there. I asked if it was the 1950's and i wasnt allowed to make any decisions for my family, they kept insisting. I then told them i would not financially support a company that won't do business with women. He then said "I guess we are not a good fit then". I guess not. I refuse to give my hard earned money to a misogynistic company. If they are actually concerned about safety then vet who you hire and provide alternatives like meeting on my front porch. Wife politely asked for reasoning of why the "no solicitors" sign was ignored; clearly seen on the door and recorded on video. She asked for the Kaysville Solicitors Permit, informed them of the city ordinance, and he did not seem be aware or seem to care. Seems like aggressive solicitors as always. read more

had a very disappointing experience with Performance Windows. Reagan Wallace (sales rep/marketing director) stopped by my house and offered a "free bid." I explained upfront that I had already been quoted around $10,000 from another company and I simply cannot afford that, especially as a single mom recently diagnosed with breast cancer. He gave me a quick quote of $10,020, and when I told him I still couldn't afford it, his attitude completely changed. He became rude, made unnecessary comments, and gave me dirty looks. He even said, "We're not a cheap company if that's what you think!" I was shocked by how unprofessional and disrespectful he was after I welcomed him into my home. No one deserves to be treated that way. I will be making sure my entire neighborhood is aware of my experience with Reagan Wallace and this company. read more

I just had somebody called Reagan come to my door from Performance Windows Pleasant Grove offering to use my home for marketing, but when I explained I didn't want to be bothered since my dad is very unwell overseas and I am preparing to go home to see him, he laughed and said I have no clue what this has got to do with getting new windows. This is insensitive and unprofessional. Rest assured, I will tell anyone who is willing to listen to never spend a single cent with this company. This behavior is disgusting. If anyone from this company is sent to my home again, I will be ordering them immediately off the property. read more

Rude, can't follow the simplest instructions or respect homeowner's wishes. Strongly recommend NOT doing business with Performance Windows. Like others posting reviews here, I have a clearly posted No Soliciting sign. Did that stop the guy from knocking on my door and giving me a sales pitch? No, it did not. People have no soliciting signs for a reason. It's because they don't want salesmen knocking on their door trying to sell something. Is that so hard to understand or respect? Based on the number of door to door salesmen who ignore the sign and knock on my door anyway, apparently it is. Sigh. read more
