1 STAR -- I DO NOT RECOMMEND BEJAR CONCRETE DESIGN…read more We paid Bejar Concrete Design more than $130,000 to build a three-tier retaining wall system and concrete steps. Less than one year later, all three wall tiers have numerous cracks, the largest wall appears to be bowing, and one crack is approximately 3/4 inch wide. An engineer evaluated the wall and advised that it presents a serious safety concern. The concrete steps are also cracking and peeling. We have repeatedly tried to get Bejar to address these issues through BlackPine Landscaping, the landscaping company involved in the project. BlackPine has been honest, communicative and has continued trying to help us resolve the situation. Unfortunately, Bejar has not shown up to correct the problems, and our attempts to reach them have gone unanswered. Our experience does not appear to be isolated. A neighbor's driveway, installed by Bejar less than a year ago, is already cracking and peeling in numerous places. Another neighbor's concrete steps are also beginning to show similar problems. Bejar features our project on its website, but has failed to stand behind the work. I have photos and documentation of the damage and will continue documenting its progression. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Bejar Concrete Design for concrete or retaining-wall work. A $130,000+ project should not develop serious cracking, peeling and apparent movement within its first year, especially when an engineer has identified a safety concern

At the end of the project, the most important question is, would I work with this person again? The answer is a resounding yes. I'm already planning more projects with Alex for the spring. I'm no stranger to remodeling. Precious contractors have had sky high prices with truly mediocre results that left me wishing I'd just done the work myself. Alex and his crew have done outstanding work at reasonable prices, while being very receptive to my feedback and high expectations. Selfishly, I don't even want to post this review because I'd rather keep this awesome unicorn contractor for myself but since Alex has done so much for me, I gotta at least return the favor.

Take extreme caution when hiring this company. I've hired Mike in the past and he did good work…read morelast year, I recently hired him for a job, he took my $1,000 deposit and never returned. I reached out to him with a stair project this summer since I've used him before. I sent him several pictures and he quoted me $1,250. The day he arrived to do the job, he increased the price to $2,400. When I turned him down, he reduced it to $1,900. Since I was anxious to get the job done, I agreed to the price. He came back the following day, Demanding half up front (I paid him $1,000). He worked for about an hour, left his tools and went to "get supplies" promising he'd be back that afternoon. He never returned. He then committed to come on July 3rd, and never showed up. When I expressed my frustration and asked for a refund of my deposit, he said "If I can't get it done Monday, July 5th, I'll refund your money." He showed up on Monday July 5th at 7:30AM, I thought to do the work, but all he did was pack up his tools and was gone by 7:45AM. When I questioned him, he said "I'm running to get supplies." He had already been to the site 3 times, including the day he increased the price. When I asked for my promised refund, when he didn't complete the job by July 5th (he actually didn't even start the job) he told me "deposits are non-refundable." I reminded him of his commitment to refund my money and he he old me I was "being difficult." After calling him again and again, he promised to come on Saturday, July 10th. I text him the day before (Friday) to confirm he would be coming to complete the job and he replied "I will be there in the morning." At this point, I shouldn't have been surprised that he never showed up. This was the FIFTH time I had taken time off work to be home, and Mike never showed. He has since ignored all texts and phone calls. Once I asked him to stand True to his word and refund my deposit, he quit replying. It appears this business once had a Facebook page (I found results in a google search), but that page has since been deleted. I have filed a complaint with the Utah Department of Commerce. I feel it necessary to warn other consumers against using this company. I thought paying half up front was reasonable, I had no idea he would show up to collect the money, and leave moments later.
