About 20min later Joseph calls from the company and I told him that I want to cancel the visit. He said when do you want to reschedule the visit I stated that I do not want to reschedule. He asked why. I told him about the Yelp reviews at which he proceeded to say that all the reviews were just disgruntled customers and that I should disregard them. I then stated that he just proved all the reviews to be true by not taking no for an answer. He started to continue at which time I said No, Thank you and hung up. If the representative comes by tomorrow he is going to have a very very bad day, and I will of course post the interaction here.

I can't recommend him enough and have already sent several of my close friends his way! When we bought our house 5 years ago, we immediately recognized that the untouched basement had unlimited potential, and started dreaming of all of the possibilities. Finally this spring, we got quotes from 3 different contractors. Dan's price was reasonable and definite, and he showed that he wanted the business and could do the job. I was nervous that the basement wouldn't live up to my high expectations, but we took the leap of faith. I am SO GLAD we did. The job proceeded on schedule and on budget (at least on Dan's side - I went a little overboard on some of my choices of materials). Dan's employees and subcontractors are all polite and professional. Especially Pete, who I think is both an incredible carpenter with unmatched workmanship and also just one of the nicest, most caring guys you will ever meet. Dan and Pete brought my vision of a little Mouse House/Harry Potter nook under the stairs to life based on Pinterest photos and our shared drawings. We also did a secret room with a trick bookcase. Everyone who sees these rooms now is beyond impressed and wants to know my contractor's phone number. As a detail-oriented person (and an attorney), I had tons of "punch lists" and questions along the way. Dan received every single one of them with a smile and a positive attitude, which was so reassuring and made the whole experience so pleasant for me. He even welcomed my lists as a good way for us to stay in communication and keep track of all of the details. Ultimately, the job was completed in July of 2018, and I am thrilled to say that my basement dreams came true, exceeding all of my high expectations. All of the workmanship is top quality - the lines are straight, the cabinets are perfectly aligned, the doors are level, the electrical and plumbing and drywalling is all done right. If I find anything that needs to be adjusted, I know Dan will handle it. At this point, the only thing left for me to do is pay off my home equity loan and then hire Dan to update my upstairs kitchen and bathrooms. I can't wait.

We all had agendas. And we are conversational shoppers. Groucho, Harpo, Chico. Hey, what about that? Where did that come from? Who rices potatoes? Anne Burrell. Look at that thing! Hey, did you see this? Look over here in this aisle. It was such a fun shopping trip at this store. And WE HAD COUPONS! We were in here a LONG time. This is ONE store I could spend a lot of time . . . just looking. I had six coupons, most of which had expired. But they took them all. Little Sis bought a boatload of stuff. I bought what was on my list . . . and had been on my list for a long time: Calphalon skillets, paired as two -- a ten-inch and an eight-inch for $50 . . . regularly $85. And freezie things -- I don't know the name -- those things you put in your freezer and then can put them in your cooler to keep sodas cold. But I got two to replace two I have that seemed to be getting softer and less weighty. I figured they were leaking their juice, and I don't know what their juice is -- so I thought that could be bad business. So, they went to the trash as soon as I got home. I bypassed a two-year pocket calendar for $6, saying to Big Sis I thought that was expensive. I believe she cringed. But I stood by it.

For example, the Scrub Daddy. It's a cleaning sponge and they don't sell them at Target or Walmart (at least not that I've seen). Also I buy my K-cups here. I've also made a few bigger purchases; a Keurig, comfortor, etc. I can't say enough about the customer service at this location. I tried using an expired coupon at the Brentwood location and the cashier told me he couldn't honor it but if I came back with a valid coupon he could do a price adjustment. This location has always honored my coupons, expired or not. One day I couldn't even find my coupon and the cashier at this location scanned one she already had for me! Also, we got a Keurig for Christmas that broke and without a receipt or even the box it came in, they let me exchange it for a new one without any hassle. These guys are great!!!
