Recently had driven to southern B.C. with my campervan with all the mountain driving and using the…read morebrakes often when I got to Calgary I took my van to get it looked at Crowfoot minute-tune& brakes - crowfoot and they recommended to get rear brakes and replace front calipers, fair enough, got the job done, paid for the brake job which was higher cost than other places and went to get in ,van noticed my hub caps missing and went to talk to Marty , service manager, where is my hubcaps, he looked in car bay and could not find them and said are you sure you had 4 hubcaps, yes I drove all of southern B.C and I had 4 hubcaps and had them when I dropped off van to get brake service, he said I will talk to owner of shop, 5 weeks went by of which every week I would drop by to see if I could get compensation for replacing hubcaps, finally finding new hubcaps and giving receipt to Marty of $55 and again he said I would talk to owner 4 days later going to see Marty he said he talked to owner and he said no way he would pay for the hubcaps, very petty for such a small amount and I would never recommend any body to deal with this shop

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and they took the time to explain the issues with my vehicle in a way that I could understand. Hello, South Auto!!!!…read more This little auto shop is one of my best kept secrets - but I figured it's time yelp knows about it. This is a small, family owned auto shop that came recommended to me from a friend of a friend of a friend. The main guy Richard really knows his stuff about cars, and maybe more importantly in the auto business, is very genuine, honest, and focused. No upselling, no phantom problems, no crazy quotes. His prices are beyond reasonable, and he is extremely transparent throughout the whole process. They have convenient appointments and will really work with you to help you fix your problems. One of my cornering lights burned out once, and had I gone to the Mercedes dealership to fix it, it it would have cost me at least a hundred bucks or more. At South Auto, they special ordered the exact bulb, and he installed it for me on the spot. It was a quick thing, he said, so he charged me $15. $8 for the bulb, and $7 for labor. THAT IS UNHEARD OF. I was on the fence about doing my annual service at South Auto because I wondered if that's something that is worth doing at the dealership, but Richard was able to do it for 1/3 of the price, while still using the specified engine oil imported from Germany, etc. I'm sold! It's a small shop, so don't expect anything fancy. No plush leather chairs in the waiting room, no quartz counters with a friendly receptionist, no complimentary snacks, but man are the prices reasonable and the work top quality. The shop is run by folks of Chinese heritage so while there may be the slightest communication challenge, I've found all of them to be fluent in english especially when it came to cars.

They were recommended to me by W&B Automotive, when I bought my very first car and I needed Winter Tires. Don was extremely accommodating. Every time I have a flat and need a tire repair, they've always gotten me in right away and gotten it fixed immediately. Sometimes at no-charge even! My most recent experience was today. On Saturday I got a flat tire in Madden, AB and had to get AMA to come change my tire. I tried to get into Canadian Tire to have them fix it, and they told me the hole was "Too big for the plug" and that I needed to buy a new tire. And they were going to charge me a fortune for it because I have 17" low-profile tires. I took it in to Don this morning and he had a look at it and was able to fix it. I ALWAYS recommend OK tire to my friends and colleagues when they ask me where a good place to buy tires is. Even if they live in Calgary, the quality of service is well worth it.
