I especially appreciated having the ingredients measured and prepared, which made it easy to focus on learning and enjoying the experience. Our menu included flan, kale and Manchego salad, and chicken + chorizo paella--and everything was delicious! What I loved most was that this felt like more than just a meal. The location is a bit hidden and is located in a small area with parking on site. It's a bit dark but there's also a lot of smaller businesses around the area too. Upon arrival we were greeted Jill who is the marketing manager behind pizza university. She was very sweet and engaging with my boyfriend and I. The establishment feels warm. There's seating available, office space and a bunch of photographs of pizza establishments that use their uniquely built ovens. Down the hallway, we were welcomed to a large kitchen with all the necessary equipment. It was decorated with valentine themes, candy, chocolates, snacks, wines, sodas and water. There were 2 large TV screens and nice jazz music. Chef David went through the menu and basics of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen. We discussed the importance of holding a knife properly and selecting one that best fits the individual. For the menu, we did a nice salad with the lettuce charred, garlic bread, chicken, rockfish, ribeye, poached lobster, double baked potatoes and mixed veggies and a chocolate lava cake. It was quite a lot of food but I learned a lot! I would say my favorite thing to make was the lobster. I've always wanted to learn how to properly de-shell a lobster so that was cool. It looks easier on those TV cooking shows than in real life. Overall, it was a really great experience. They change up their events regularly so I would be happy to come back to learn more and cook different cuisines again.

The class is a fun opportunity to learn, bond with friends and meet new people (especially if you're teamed up with them - you're put into in groups of 4). You get a 10% in-store discount if you shop the day of your class. I appreciated that Chef Jess gave us a brief store tour; I ended up buying a couple of her recommendations. Can't wait for my next class! All the Sur La Table staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The store is well organized and the available samples are always a fun perk.

That's just not true but I understand the frustration that led to a misunderstanding. I know the owner/chef was busy and working to try improve their marketing, ordering app, and communications. It's a small business so you just have to contact her directly if there is an issue and she will take care of it. I did that every time and I was patient because I want this good cooking to last to feed my family. Seems like great people. I've spoken to her and met the staff who deliver food to my house. I made a mistake of signing up for 4 weeks of meal delivery, and now I am out of hundreds of dollars. The first delivery was 2 days late and required multiple attempts to contact the merchant to get the ordered meals. Week 2 meals were delivered but be aware, if you happen to be in the shower when they show up with your delivery, they won't leave your meals on your secure porch and will just drive away with your order. Week 3- NO DELIVERY, NO CALL, NO EMAIL. Again, I had too contact the merchant to try to figure out where was my food. Days later got a response that they had an issue with their refrigerator and simply neglected to let me know!!! With over a thousand dollars already tied up with this merchant, I had to scramble to purchase food for my family elsewhere. Due to the "NO CALL NO SHOW" for the week 3 delivery, I politely asked the chef to immediately refund me for the remaining 2 weeks worth of food that wasn't delivered. I explained that because they failed to honor their contract, I had to make other arrangements for the meals. The merchant NEVER REFUNDED me for the remaining 2 WEEKS worth of food that they NEVER DELIVEREDA. I ended up having to contact my credit card company, and guess what? The merchant is lying to my credit card company, claiming they delivered all 4 weeks worth of meals! I am reaching out to the Office of the Attorney General and filing a fraud complaint next. Stay as far away from this thief as you can!
