Empire Air Services came out the same day I phoned for an estimate. One other competitor came out the next day. Three others just failed to show for the agreed upon appointments. After confirming that the compressor was shot, the Empire rep told me that his company would hook up a temporary outside unit to provide AC while the new Trane equipment shipped. His bid was considerably lower than the lone competing bidder, and he seemed loyal to his product. Empire Air was true to its word. Once I accepted its bid, the company provided me with a temporary outside unit. A few days later, a professional pair of workers installed the system. I am so glad I chose this company.
