I was craving some smash burgers and decided to stop by "Perfect Szn" for a late dinner. Pulling up to this sports bar / restaurant gave a warm and cozy spot to watch sports and enjoy some pub fare. This seemed like a welcoming local spot and the staff were very friendly and helpful with menu recommendations.
The overall area was clean and quite spacious with a number of tables and sections to fit anyone's mood. There were TVs everywhere ensuring no one missed a play, and that there was good coverage with a multiple sport going on at one time. The decor was vibrant and had a lot of Buffalo Bills / Maple Leaf flags adorned on the walls.
Unfortunately the food didn't live up to the rest of the experience. The menu had all the classic.. burgers, wraps, flatbreads. The taste was fine and portion sizes were fair but my whole party did get some mild food poisoning. I'll give my rating but fair warning, I'd dock probably a point in the followup rating for my extra experience.
Swiss & Mushroom Smash Burger (7/10; 6/10) - Two 3oz smashed ground patties topped with sautéed mushrooms, swiss cheese, garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato and onions. Overall, wasn't a bad burger and had all the fixings but nothing to write home about.
Clubhouse Wrap (7/10; 6/10) - Chicken breast, bacon bits, lettuce, tomato, cheese and garlic aioli. Was a fairly filled wrap with the clubhouse works, quite tasty and was actually quite filling. Can't really go wrong with a classic if everything actually went accordingly to plan.
BBQ Chicken Flatbread (8.5/10; 7.5/10) - Bbq sauce, chicken breast, bacon crumble, sautéed mushrooms, red onions and mozzarella cheese. This flatbread was actually the star of the show for us. Very delicious and evenly balanced with the savoury, sweet and tangy flavours. Right amount of meat to sauce to bread for a great appetizer.
*Special Shoutout* SZN'd Fries - Double fried fries with a unique smoky and bbq flavoured seasoning that was amazing and a great side paring.
Outside of our experience, I thought "Perfect Szn" was a great spot to catch a game, have a drink and soak up the atmosphere. I'd probably grab a bite elsewhere but to be fair, it might have been a one off situation and could potentially surprise me the next time around... but it'll be a while for sure. read more
