I had been nursing a few injuries over the years (knees, shoulders) and acquired a few more after childbirth. Before this, I was a fairly active person, taking boxing classes and conditioning classes at least 5x/wk. I had severe pain down the length of my spine, starting from the base of my next to my tailbone. I had very limited mobility. And I can tell you, that the physically pain had weighed heavily on my mental well being as well. I was recommended to Perfect Stride PT by a trusted friend, who is a professional athlete and trainer. I was pleased with how easy it was to set up my first consultation ( insurance verification, paperwork, etc). As a healthcare professional myself, I understand that the front staff is important in making a good impression for the patient, and sets the tone so to speak. The office manager was pleasant, professional, and very responsive. When I came into my first consultation, I was impressed with the thorough assessment I received. Dan, not only addressed my primary complaint, which I verbalized to him, but also extracted all the other problem areas which I did not really mention to him. In the past, when I went to PTs, they would only address the one body part. Dan takes into account the whole picture - you can tell that he is truly well-versed in anatomy and the dynamics of the body. Dan's therapy approach is very different than any I experienced in the past. Dan (and all the PTs at Perfect Stride) work on the patients one-on-one. You can tell that he is quite passionate about his work and also cares about you and your healing progress. In a short time, I am virtually pain free and am working towards building my strength up. After a few sessions with Dan, my husband noticed the change in me, and decided to come in for a consultation himself. Little did he know that he was even worse off than me! He has also come a very long way and has drastically improved his range of motion. Being born and bred New Yorkers, we don't subscribe to bull and wasting our time if we didn't see results! I lived in chronic neck & back pain for about 4 years. I had one surgery and a few years of physical therapy including shots in my spine, shoulders & knees. Nothing was helping. I was suffering from depression, loss of sleep & had made up my mind to have a second surgery. A friend recommended this one last place & promised they were the best. When I visited Perfect Stride I was so discouraged but they guaranteed to teach me the necessary exercises I needed to live a pain free life. My experience at Perfect Stride has been just amazing! If you are in need of PT, you'll want to strongly consider this place ... there you will find a friendly, incredibly knowledgeable staff that actually devotes the entire hour session to you. Unlike other places that send you off to do your exercises, they provide you with a a full one-on-one session. In July, I found out that my knee discomfort was due to a torn meniscus. After three months of PT elsewhere, I made no progress and in fact, was scheduled for surgery in late November. I was pretty upset because I knew surgery should really be the last resort, but the reality was I still couldn't even straighten out my leg. I still had a month before the scheduled surgery and decided to change things up, to see if I could somehow avoid it. I took someone's advice to see Joe (Gambino) at Pefect Stride and I am SO happy I did! After just three visits I started to feel such a difference I couldn't even believe it! He explained the fundamental issues and patiently taught me the exercises I needed to do while also explaining why they were important. By the end of November, I was busy having a blast at my birthday party instead of recovering from surgery! Thank you Joe!!! This is my first ever Yelp review, but Perfect Stride PT is absolutely worth it. I avoided PT for years due to a bad experience as a kid, but I truly hit the jackpot with Perfect Stride! The entire team at Perfect Stride is wonderful, but I'd like to comment specifically on my experience with Brian. Brian is kind, considerate, infinitely knowledgeable, patient, and non-judgmental. I trust him fully -- he's able to synthesize my inadequate descriptions of what feels off in a particular joint into a logical problem with an equally logical solution. Given my chronic condition, I never thought I'd be able to have little to no pain on any given day, nor did I ever think I'd be able to run effectively, efficiently, and -- dare I say -- easily. It's due to Brian's thoughtful, methodical, attentive care that I'm able to run longer distances than ever before with a shockingly little amount of pain. I could not recommend him enough. P.S.: I am always quietly thrilled by how much Brian knows about hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. He honestly knows more about it than the last dozen doctors I've seen -- sometimes I feel like he even understands it better than I do, and I've dealt with hypermobility-related problems for my entire life. I've had the immense pleasure of working with Vikash at Perfect Stride over the past year to manage back stiffness and pain. After dealing with discomfort for years and attempting treatment through multiple other avenues (chiro, other PT spots, cupping, mobility/strength training), I finally found the solution! From the first day I started at Perfect Stride, I had a feeling that this experience would blow all others out of the water and since then, my initial impression has been re-affirmed time in and time out. My first session with Dan was back in 2013, after shoulder repair surgery. I tolerated years of pain, limited range of motion and chronic dislocation. I wasn't ready to hang up my cleats, so I opted for surgery and was eager to begin rehab and get back to living life! One of the standout qualities of Perfect Stride is that each therapist is just as eager for you to successfully rehab and resume your pre-injured lifestyle, and with their guidance, exceed expectations! Dan, Vikash, Joe L. and Joe G. have all treated me for various sports related injuries (literally, from head to toe). They are all extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and progressive in improving themselves, as well as educating their clients. I have the utmost confidence in them to help me regain optimal function and even more enjoyment of the activities I love. I have spent the last six months recovering from knee surgery. It was a long six months and it probably would have been a longer recovery if it hadn't been for Joe Gambino at Perfect Stride. I was a bit hesitant about physical therapy from past experiences - lack of space, 3 to 4 patients being treated by one PT within the same session, etc. Anyways, the team at Perfect Stride treats patients on a one-to-one basis. Joe and his counterparts are extremely knowledgeable and you can tell that they love their jobs and are excited about their field - always discussing new treatments, exercises, stretches, and theories. As most probably know, PT is only as effective if you take it seriously and do the exercises/stretches that are recommended for outside of the office. After 6 months, I am happy to say that I just got back to running and so far, I have not had any side effects. The Perfect Stride team rocks. This was my first experience with physical therapy, and the combination of expertise, individualized attention, and good humor in conjunction with experiencing tangible results over the course of my appointments has sold me on returning to these guys when I have future injuries or issues. I'm a middle aged guy who still tries to stay active playing recreational yet competitive sports while squeezing in some running and swimming. I tore a hamstring badly playing rugby, and Vikash has helped get me back to a place where I can now run again. While working on that issue, I strained my back playing hoops, and Vikash was able to adapt my program to help resolve that issue quickly as well. Great Facility. Even better therapists. The facility itself is very clean. Spacious, lots of natural light, and top of the line equipment. The PTs and administrative team are very friendly and accommodating. Joseph LaVacca was my physical therapist, and for the two months I was in rehab with him, I saw immediate results. After fracturing two bones in my foot from a contact sport related injury, I didn't think I'd be able to get back into the martial art that I loved: Muay Thai. Joe's knowledge, attention to detail and technique not only made me feel comfortable, but made me feel confident in returning. Prior to him, I didn't think this was possible. In June 2023 I set out to complete NYRR's 9+1 program to qualify for the NYC Marathon. Having not run competitively for decades, I promptly injured myself, and after a frustrating summer of doctor's visits and general PT work, running *any* races, let alone the marathon, seemed like an unlikely prospect...until I started working with Vikash Sharma at Perfect Stride. Thoughtfully and methodically, he developed and guided me through the implementation of a year-long program that allowed me to fully recover while completing 9 qualifying races and eventually the 2024 NYC Marathon itself--all without incurring any additional injuries. After years of dealing with severe upper back tension that consistently led to severe headaches, I started seeing Joe Gambino at Perfect Stride. In under 4 months he helped reprogram my back! He taught me the proper exercises necessary to relieve the tension and strengthen my back (which were all easily done at home), and he was extremely good at explaining what all the issues were and why we were doing what we were doing. I love that at Perfect Stride the PT's are consistently attending seminars to learn about new techniques - some of which I personally benefitted from! I worked with Joseph at PerfectStride on tennis elbow and shoulder pain. His approach was perfect and focused on self-help rehabilitation over extended and recurring visits. Joseph used the sessions mostly, to diagnose and understand the issue and, recommend stretches that could be done at home. I had been ineffectively treated for tennis elbow in the past and the pain persisted for some time - this was the first time that the issue quickly abated. When the pain does come back, the stretches are effective in providing almost-immediate relief. I am grateful to have continued to play sport without interruption. Having suffered injuries to my knees and back as a result of a hard fall ~6 months ago, I was referred to Perfect Stride after a prior unsuccessful PT experience. I've been working with Vikash over the last five weeks and have experienced astonishing progress. I have learned a lot about my injuries and the areas that needs special focus for healing to be complete. Two years ago I had surgery on my right shoulder. Torn labrum, the works. I was recommended to Perfect Stride and got setup with Vikash. 6 months later, shoulder is in great shape. No pain, 99% motion back (at age 30, all I can ask for), and I can somehow hit a golf ball farther now. 3 months ago, I dislocated my other shoulder really bad. My ortho recommended against surgery and to go to PT, and I immediately called Vikash to get back to work. Vikash (with the occasional assist from Tyler) have been great to work with again. Perfect stride is the perfect mix os professionalism, culture, knowledge and healthy living. Perfect Stride is one of the few places in NY that gives you individual physical therapy attention. I've gone to larger chain PT places that stick you on a bike for 20 minutes, work with you for 20 minutes and then give you ice and stem. The staff at Perfect stride gives you white glove service from the moment you arrive, and also give you advice on healthy living when you leave the office. I've done physical therapy a few times in the course of my life and this has been my best experience to date. The one-on-one approach for the entire appointment has been really beneficial - in the past, I always had to share my PT with other patients at the same time, which meant no one was really watching if I was doing an exercise correctly. The equipment is top-notch, and the new clinic is clean and bright. These guys are great. I've been working with Tyler on rehabbing after extensive foot surgery, and am improving after each session. Everything is 1:1, so you have the therapist's full attention. Communication - both during the session and in e mails afterward - is excellent. Tyler is prepared for every session, and has obviously given a lot of thought to the next steps in my rehab. I've spent a lot of time looking for quality physical therapy in the city and have gone to four different providers. I'm not going to say which ones. But, what I will say is that Perfect Stride Physical Therapy is by far the best. They have great office management (you deal with real people, not an answering service or email), they work with your schedule, they have a set of tools, like FRC, to help you feel and move better and they're passionate about giving the best possible care.
