I've been doing physical Therapy with Active Care for over 6 months. My PT Riddhi is AMAZING!! Always concerned, attentive and has helped to improve my range of motion for my Hand. The office Manager Mr. K (Kanal) is the best!!! Always addresses you by your name, comes over while doing therapy to greet you and ask you how you are feeling. Mr.K is very helpful, when negating your insurance or any other questions you might have. During my time at Active Care, there was a death in my family. Mr. K , remembered when I came back for PT he called me in his office to personally give his condolences and to ask me if there was anything that I needed or He could do to help me!! She knows her stuff but most importantly she talks to you, spends time on manual adjustments ( which a lot of PT places don't do or do for a minute or two ) watches your movements. I have loved my experience at ActiveCare PT. From the familiar nature that all the staff have with their patients, to the app that they provide that guide you through your exercises when you're not in the clinic. My PT, Riddhi, is phenomenal. I worked with Chutima for almost half a year after I injured my left knee during a run. It is my first time getting injured and the fact it took so long to recover is frustrating. Then I found this place and had a great experience working with Chutima. She provides a detailed plan that I can follow and can see how I am improving each week. Now I am back in my training for a half marathon and feel my legs and knee much stronger. James, the office manager there worked out a great payment plan even though I have a high deductible insurance. I compared with a couple other places and the one I got here is the best offer and very affordable. read more

I called ActiveCare to see if they took Aetna. They said yes. It wasn't until I showed up for my appointment that they told me they were out of network. I found out I could have saved myself the $250 deductible if I had stayed in network. I guess I didn't phrase my question correctly when I called - but the person checking my insurance should have understood what I was asking. If they "took Aetna", they'd be in network. Lessons learned. Check your own insurance. Don't trust them. Promptness is demanded here and that's understandable. But I had the impression that they feel as their time is more valuable than mine. I was told my initial consultation would be an hour and a half. I was there for well over 2 hours. After checking in (and being told they were out of network), I waited a good 15 minutes before anyone saw me. With healthcare providers, I do like to feel as though my health and well-being are their priority. Unfortunately, here I did not. My primary care doctor recommended someone else. That person was out of network too but they told me upfront, told me what the charges would be and made me feel as if I could trust them. So I'm going to him. read more

I made an appointment via ZocDoc as an In-Network provider. Received a phone call before my appt to be informed that they are "actually Out-of Network and I shouldn't worry because it's the same as being In-Network because they'll still take my insurance. Oh and we'll only charge you a one time out of pocket fee of just $200 for your first appointment and all others after that, just $10 co-pay." I told them to cancel my appointment immediately. I have always had issues with my knees without ever having serious injuries to them. Finally, I had had enough and realized I needed help so that I could do my daily activities, run, as well as, workout. I am so thankful I found ActiveCare because I have never felt stronger. It's a legitimate business and all of the PT's know what they're talking about. They are personal and really do consider your body, your injuries and you as a person when working with you and helping you get better. I could not have asked for a better practice and highly recommend them. I am so grateful for what they have taught, shown and allowed me to do I feel extremely confident in my future of "knee problems". I had a good experience with general physical therapy care to prepare for bilateral knee replacement surgery. It was when I was trying to get on a table using a step stool provided to me (I'm short) that I fell off table. I hit my head, immediately bruised my forearm and landed directly on my knee. I could not put any weight on my leg and they moved me in an office chair with wheels. I asked for my orthopedic to be called and they declined saying I would have better luck calling. I called and my orthopedic immediately had me go to his office. I left Active Care by office chair on wheels and a friend picked me up. With my surgery only a month away, this was a terrible accident. I could not continue PT and I was in the worse pain. I expected a call from Active Care, but No one from Active Care called to see outcome of orthopedic visit. It wasn't until more than 2 weeks later that Active Care called to see if I was coming back. I've had my bilateral knee replacement since then and recovering well. I did not return to Active Care! Disappointed in their safety, follow up, customer service and lack of concern. I went to Karena for a stinging pain in the back of my knee from playing Soccer. She and the entire team at active care (Karen, Karla and Valerie) worked with me for 2 months to reduce the pain and swelling, and also strengthening my entire leg. They took time to explain to me what exactly is wrong, and also how I should continue exercises to try prevent the injury of reoccurring. Overall - Great care and personal attention, and I could feel a drastic reduction in pain after every session. Karena and the team's commitment to getting me back on the soccer pitch was more that my own, and I really have to thank them for that! read more

Very positive experience-- I had foot surgery and had been in a walking boot for almost 4 months so my mobility was pretty non-existent when I started therapy at ActiveCare. The staff are all very caring, friendly and fun to be around (I would imagine therapy elsewhere could be awful). I was afraid it would hurt tremendously at first but all of the therapists and aides have been knowledgeable about how hard to push me and have seen me make tremendous progress. They have used a variety of techniques and exercises according to my stage of mobility and have also been clear on my progress and when I could expect to take on the things in my every day life. The facility is nice and clean with the right amount of room and privacy. A special shout out to all of the people that have cared for me, especially Ruhji and Kareena, as well as Sara with whom I have shared many exercise sessions with now. I highly recommend ActiveCare and only wish I had gone sooner after my foot surgery. read more

Before I came to Karena's practice I had lost much of my muscle in my left shoulder, triceps and forearm. Additionally I was getting referral pains down my arms and into my fingers with numbness and twitching. My doctor referred me to an orthopedic surgeon who ordered and MRI that revealed neck arthritis and 3 herniated discs. The orthopedic surgeon recommend some physical therapy and told me that I could not longer play soccer or even run, along with all of the other sports I play. At the time, the neck pain was great enough that I could not even ride my bike because I could not lift my head in the riding position without symptoms. I was 34 at the time and very active. I found a physiatrist at the Hospital for Special Surgery who had a much more positive and proactive approach. His recommendation was to see Karena and limit the probability for head impacts and bad posture. After regular visits with Karena and her staff along with at-home exercises I have my muscle back and much fewer symptoms. I am back to most of my original activities. Karena is the best therapist I've ever worked with and she is an excellent coach and teacher. She surrounds herself with warm and fun staff and there is a great atmosphere in the office - this is key because you will want to show up and not blow off your come-back. read more

Injuries are the worst, but when you work with great therapist, therapy aides, and a highly competent office staff, its makes your road to recovery a pleasant experience. Ive been to other physical therapy offices, and ActiveCare is by far the best! The therapists and aides provide you with the guidance and tools you need to recover from your injury and prevent future injury. I have worked with Ruchi, Monique and Karena. They are all excellent therapists. Their therapy aides Magda and Sara are rockstars. They help you with all of your exercises and coach you by showing you the proper technique and postures, while motivating you to improve with each and every session. This is very important because if you don't learn to do exercise program properly during your therapy sessions, you won't be able to do them properly at home. The office staff are also excellent. Annie and Jasmine are on the top of their game. From scheduling appointments (They send you emails with all of your appointments and reminders for your next upcoming appointment) to making sure you have any insurance information or workers compensation forms in order, they make the entire experience as painless as possible. I hope I don't have any future injuries, but if I do , I would definitely return to ActiveCare! read more

I've been going to Karena at ActiveCare for over three years in order to treat a chronic back issue. Prior to Karena's care, I was in PT at least once a week for over 10 years. Now, I just get a tune up once every few months. Her team is also fantastic when it comes to emergency visits. In the years I've seen her, I've also blown out a knee, developed a killer case of TMJ, and slipped multiple ribs. In each case, she gets me in within hours. And, she's hilarious. read more

Being in the medical profession myself, and having such a life changing injury, I was driven to find only the best! I have found the best at ActiveCare! My initial inquiry and conversation with James, office manager and patient care coordinator, was extremely professional and informative. I booked a consultation immediately! I was assigned to Dominika as my Physical Therapist. From the start I felt comfortable with her knowledge, her treatment plan, and her overall genuine desire to help! I have been a patient for months now as I continue my rehabilitation. I have personally worked with Dominika as my main Therapist, and Justin as my PT aide. I have also worked occasionally with Chutima and PT aide Chris. They are all outstanding! Finding physical therapy that dedicates one-on-one care, is very hard to find, and it is very important in the continuity of your care and recovery. I've been working with Karena and the rest of her team at Activecare Physical Therapy for a few months now, mostly working through some pre-existing neck/shoulder injuries and postural issues. Over the last 5 years or so I have been seeing therapists at ActiveCare for recovery from surgery, as well treatment for my chronic back pain. Not only did both my therapists, Kelly and Chutima, help me get back on my feet (literally) after my hip surgery but throughout the process, their care and attention never wavered. You are not just a number at ActiveCare, but treated as a friend. The team sincerely cares about your recovery and will do anything they can to help you meet your goals. With Karena's mentorship and guidance, the therapist team has gotten me through days pain free - something I never thought I would achieve. Without their hard work, I wouldn't be feeling as healthy and as strong as I am today. I know I wouldn't here without the level of treatment provided by the ActiveCare therapists, assistants, and all the wonderful people behind the scenes - I am in the best of hands with them. For most of the year I have been coming to ActiveCare (after checking out some reviews online). I foolishly fell of a ladder in Jan 2015 and screwed up my right foot. I was definitely impressed by the entire staff. I worked primarily with Monique, who was a joy to work with. She is caring, funny, and totally professional. They are also quite mindful of your time here. I was never kept waiting and yet the office is busy. They run a very well oiled machine here. My pain hasn't 100% subsided, but I think that it will improve if I do the stretches and some more yoga. And when I was discharged, I got a swanky purple water bottle a cute little stress ball that I can lob at co-workers! It sure as hell beats a lollilop! read more

I just finished physical therapy at ActiveCare and could not have asked for a better experience!! In November I had surgery on my elbow. I had a lot of trouble finding a physical therapist who would either take my insurance or work with my insurance. A friend recommended ActiveCare and I can't thank her enough! When I first spoke to Karena over the phone I was pretty much in the middle of a huge meltdown. I had been getting nowhere calling physical therapists for 2 days, my surgeon wanted me in PT immediately, and I couldn't bend my arm. Not only did Karena contact my insurance company and give me a reasonable plan for going to her as an out of network provider, she literally talked me off the ledge and into her office that same day. Once I was there I was seen by Rob Fluegel who is AMAZING!! Let me be clear. He will hurt you!! And when he's done hurting you, you will thank him for it because you will leave the office better than you were when you walked in. Rob took the time to explain everything to me and made me feel completely comfortable with him and 100% sure that he was going to help me get the movement back in my arm and get back to my normal life. He also knew when I needed reassurance that this would happen and that even if I couldn't see it that day, I was progressing and my arm was getting better. read more

I highly recommend anyone looking for a PT to come to Karena's office. I first went to ActiveCare PT over two years ago with a broken shoulder from a snowboarding "accident" and Karena took me through all the stages until I was fully recovered. Now I am pain free in my shoulder and have full range of motion. Unfortunately my hip and the surrounding muscles started to give me problems a few months back after extensive periods of running so I went back to Karena's care. I have already started feeling the difference after just a few sessions and just waiting for the all clear to get back on the road! Additionally her staff are great and ready to assist, the whole experience is very pleasant. After trying Physical Therapy at 3 other locations, I was very impressed by the service provided by Karena and her team for my lingering back pain. They are incredibly knowledgeable, professional and kind. I have recommended this place to many of my friends and colleagues because the level of service is just outstanding. The first half hour of the session is dedicated to hands-on work and massage of my back using different techniques (they are always up to speed on all the new therapy methods). I went to Active Care Physical Therapy after a shoulder issue. I went there in hopes of avoiding surgery on my shoulder... which I do not need! After about 20 sessions of physical therapy with Karena and her staff my shoulder is a million times better. I went in not being able to take a jacket off or wash my hair and now I feel great. They have also armed me with the proper tools to stretch if anything ever acts up again. It feels great to be back at the gym and training like I was in the past. Lastly, the office gives an very comforting feel. You do not feel rushed and feel that your issues are important. Its like a little physical therapy community all wanting to help you reach your goals of getting better. No matter who I was working with I felt like I was in great hands. I was referred to ActiveCare after I was in an accident in the city. I've done PT before but I have to say the therapists and staff at ActiveCare are really best in class. I was having a hard time finding care, but as soon as I was referred to ActiveCare, their office manager, James, gave me a call. He was super caring, emailed me all the paperwork, and was able to get me in at a very convenient time, they were even able to work with me in terms of payment as this is out of network for me. They have appointments ranging from early morning to late evening, so its perfect for me to get to after work. I work with both Monique and Rebecca. They are amazing at what they do, incredibly sweet, and very knowledgeable! They do ask that you be on time but that is because the therapists really do see you promptly. I have never been asked to wait. The first appointment does take a little longer but I was in and out within 1.5 hrs-2 hrs, regular appts. run just under an hour (approximately). You see the therapist for 30 minutes. They assess your improvement/pain and then work on you. In laymen terms it could be called a "massage" but its a lot more technical than that. They really target the trouble areas and work to get them feeling better. You then follow with your exercises supervised by a dedicated PT assistant for 20 minutes (your therapist will check on you to make sure you're doing okay a few times as well) and then finish with ice or heat to the affected area if needed. The attention is individualized, the whole team is helpful, kind and courteous, and the facilities are very clean. read more

Being without insurance, I was anticipating unaffordable care, but Dr. Wu and the office manager, James, were quick to offer me a generous discount. They, my therapist Rebecca, and her assistant Justin were kind, pleasant, and professional. During my time as a patient and even when I was discharged, they invited me to contact them as needed with any questions about anything related to my injury and recovery.
