I fractured my L radius a few months ago, and even before I got the cast off, I needed to decide where I was going to get physical therapy. Gramercy Physical Therapy is conveniently located to where I work, so it was more likely I'd go there often enough to do the exercises. Gramercy Physical Therapy is a fine rehabilitation center and the best one I have ever used. It was highly recommended by my previous physical therapist. Both Ayushi S. and Sharwari W. with their extensive knowledge, varied exercises and encouragement, made my recovery from total knee replacement much easier. I was also given an app on my iPhone with exercises to do on the days I wasn't there. This is a large facility with all the equipment one needs to exercise and it is always clean. I recently had 11 sessions to work on a rotator cuff injury. The facility is small and well-maintained. They accepted my insurance. The first several of my sessions were with a therapist who went out on leave. I was reassigned to Mary. She is excellent! She is what led me to a 5-star rating. She literally was hands-on for most of each session, starting me with heat to relax the muscles, and then doing deep tissue massages, stretches, and manipulations. She was friendly, caring, and professional. At the end of each session we spent a few minutes in the gym area, so she could help me with exercises with very simple equipment I can purchase for home use. This was a great PT experience. If I need more sessions, I will go back. read more

Went here for a shoulder issue and my therapist Teresa took great care of me. She really listens, is hands-on and seeks to understand the problem. She then drew from her extensive experience to design a PT program for me. Overall the place is a bit small but they make the best use of it. The staff, in general, are really nice. I've been coming to Gramercy Physical Therapy for about 3 months now. I've seen Gene and Tessa 50% each and I go 3 times a week for my lower back. (herniated disc, bulged disc, all the good stuff down by L4-L5-S1).. They communicate well with each other and I feel it doesn't matter who I see because we work together towards a common goal and we pick up where we left off. In my experience Gene tends to be a little more hands on with the massage, goes really deep and stretches you out. However, lately we've been incorporating more exercises too. Tessa does a bit of massage as well but has been a little more focused on stretching and exercises. It's a good combination and I would suggest seeing both, maybe you respond better to one way vs the other. Overall, they're both great and I've seen loads of therapists over the years! The PT care here is great. They really take their time to treat the patients. They see me for a full hour, which includes deep tissue therapy, some sonic machine, and exercises. The PT is there with me half to most of the time (30+ minutes) whereas other PT places I've been to only see you directly for 15 minutes (before sending you off to do exercises on your own). read more

I have been coming here for a few months now for Planters Fasciitis for physical therapy. The team is amazing EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!!! I have good day and bad days (perks of working on your feet for 16+years) but I always feel so much better after leaving. I love their hours as it gives me the opportunity to either come before or after work. When I first began it was difficult to make any plans with friends due to fear of pain but I find myself getting out more and if I begin to feel pain doing the stretches they have taught me. I tried acupuncture for the first time yesterday, I will admit I was a bit nervous of the needles but once Jae Sun talked me through the process I found it to be quite relaxing. He took the time to talk to me about my health and my ailments which I can admit I have a few :-/ He mentioned he was going to try to open my 4 gates which sounds interesting (I will do more research on). The procedure was painless and he was very informative as to why he was pinning me in specific areas. I was hopeful on resolutions and I know this is just the first step but I will say I immediately noticed the chronic pain I had in my feet went from a current pain level of 7 to a pain level of 4...Mind blown. Last night was also the first time I slept through the night, not only did I sleep but I had a dream. I rarely sleep so soundly allowing myself to dream. I can't wait to notice more improvement. read more

Great place to get treated. Gramercy PT has really knowledgeable and friendly therapists. The a were very respectful and timely. I was a patient here before had several issues taken care of that have been bothering me for a long time. The appointments were pretty easy to make, they try to accommodate you, even if later in the evening. Really took their time to examine and listen to my concerns and had followed me throughout the course of treatment. I also send my father here and was very confident they would take care of him. Really cute small facility with private rooms. I had injured my wrist and h during workout so was referred to see PT. They are very flexible with appointments and were able to squeeze me in couple of days. I def recommend to call and see them if something bothers you. They accept majority of insurances. My PT was and is Gene. Been only 2 sessions, but I feel the difference. I couldn't turn my big finger sometimes, but now little by little I can use it as usual. read more

Over the years I've visited several different facilities for PT, and I have to say that the Gramercy staff is the ABSOLUTE BEST! I've worked with each therapist: Tessa, Eve, Nathan and Gene. They are friendly, professional and care about helping you get better. They have the detailed knowledge and skill to identify the best therapy to help resolve your issue. They teach you proper posture and approaches to performing stretches and exercises that go hand in hand with your therapy. I've learned lasting skills from each one of them. I first visited GPT last fall for sciatic nerve pain, and I swear they are 'miracle workers'; I've not had any issues since! And I'm back now for their help in resolving some rotator cuff related issues. I've been going here for a couple months now and haven't had a negative experience. They're so flexible, understanding, and personable. There a private rooms where most of the PT takes place in addition to a gym space for more dynamic/space-needing exercises. The physical therapists are understanding of the line between pain that's harmful and pain that's helpful and of your personal comfort near that line. I go here for my neck, shoulders, knee, wrists, and ankle. And every visit they ask how my body is doing and which parts I'd like to focus on. They not only work on each individual injury but also focus on strengthening my core and body as a whole, which is much appreciated. If you have back problems - GO SEE EVE!! She's the best! I had excruciating back pain and my doc gave me a PT referral. I've had PT at other places for 2 previous issues and had bad results both times. Was pretty convinced it didn't work, but I was in such bad shape I had to try something. I called a few places and Gramercy took my insurance and could do remote sessions. I can't believe how lucky I was to find Eve. She's caring and patient, and truly knows her stuff. At first, I was a bit worried about the fact that you work with all the different therapists, but after a few appointments, I realize that's actually super helpful. You get multiple perspectives and approaches to help you heal and there's really good continuity because the therapists read notes from the previous session. I went to another therapy spot in Union Square and have gotten way better results at Gramcery in a shorter time. The therapists don't just make suggestions for exercises, but actually work with you manually and get to the root of the problem. Appointment scheduling is super easy and flexible too! read more

Nathan is amazing Nathan has worked wonders for my golfer's elbow. He has been focusing on breaking down the fascia and I've found that to be an alternative and effective way to fix my problem. I really enjoyed coming here for physical therapy. Before getting to Gramercy Physical Therapy, I'd been through surgery and multiple physical therapists who couldn't quite get to the bottom of what was going on with me. Working with Nathan and his team have really helped me get back on the right track. They are efficient, easy to reschedule with, and did a good job of educating me on my own body. They also have a very convenient location for anyone who lives in East Village or Williamsburg - you just get out on the 3rd Ave L Stop and walk a few blocks. Gramercy physical therapy is by far the best physical therapy clinic in the city. The personal attention that was afforded to me by the therapists was more hands on and longer than any other clinic that i have visited in the city. I have had issues with chronic lower back pain for over 10 years now and my functional level is now almost the same as before my accident. I came to see Gene and Alex because I had swimmer's shoulder due to a work related injury. What I immediately noticed that sets this practice apart is just how warm and enthusiastic the therapists are. Gene is very hands on; he will not throw a heating pad on you and just make you do some exercises. Gene will work on the problem areas through massage and stretching in tandem with exercises. This is so important as many other therapists don't practice this way. My shoulder has been successfully healed in three months, where the doctor said it would take about 6 months. I came to Gramercy Physical Therapy for a shoulder injury 6 weeks ago. All the therapist have been great. They have answered all my questions and are very knowledgeable. I have seen Gene, Vlad, and Kim. They each have their own style and are excellent. Velia, at the front desk is delightful and extremely patient. The first 3 weeks I was given massage therapy only. The 4th week I continued massage therapy in office and was given exercises to do at home. I have noticed a huge improvement and hope to avoid surgery. read more

He watches that I am doing them correctly but I don't spend the majority of time alone just doing exercises as has happened at other facilities.
