Cute little spot at W 100th and Central Park West providing perfect picnic essentials (pun fully intended). The store itself is small, but as you walk in, there is everything you could possibly need from sandwiches to charcuterie meats and cheeses to side salads, olives, artichokes to spread to drinks and to desserts. They offer a number of picnic bundles to make your life easy. I ended up going rogue as I wanted a few specific items. The bundles start at $19 and go to $500 (more of a last minute catering option honestly). I orders the following: Marinated artichokes - very good but a tad too much oil Deviled eggs - highly recommend. They use whole grain mustard, which makes it punchy but delicious Baguettini with fig jam and goat cheese - good vegetarian option. The jam needed to be spread a bit more throughout, but still great Baguettini with roast beef and caramelized onions - a true winner Chocolate chip cookie - fresh and pretty soft. Not too sweet. Perfect Picnic What a great accidental find when I needed to eat after hiking all over the park. So cute inside and they have seating outside. The sandwich I had was delicious and so was the Chocolate Chip Cookie. Five Stars for fast friendly service and delicious food made fresh. The variety of sandwiches is great and the size was perfect for me. If I lived nearby I'd be here all the time. There was a steady stream of customers going in and out. Directly across from Central Park this is a great shop to literally grab a picnic and enjoy a scenic afternoon in the park. It's on the opposite side of the park where a lot of the touristy things are so it's more quite and peaceful. Food was great and staff was super nice. Had a lovely time. I was fortunate enough to win a prize to experience this. I had no idea a company like PP was around. I showed up on a hot Sunday morning and showed the cashier my voucher. No confusion, just an "okay cool!" Which is great because sometimes it can be a real hassle. I had a ticket for two classic picnics. The store was really cute, really small but jam packed with items. I chatted with the owner for a bit, she was funny and charming. The apologised for the cookies being fresh baked! (Ha!) It took a few minutes and then they gave me my bags and wished me a great day. I have to admit, I live right across the park, so I took my picnic to my rooftop and had a nice time. It came with cheeses, meats, olives (so good), an apple, water, cookies (yummmy) and a baguette. It was a lovellllllllllly time. I will definitely be back when fall comes around. It was nice being able to just grab and go. Next time, I'll have it in the park. What a delightful take away market! First time in this portion of Central Park and wanted to grab a bite to eat and sit next to the pond. There was a very lovely selection of mini baguettes, artfully packages and fairly priced for the location. The owner even gave my toddler a pink pinwheel- so incredibly thoughtful. They also had a nice variety of olives, cheeses and salads. Basically anything you could think of for a chic picnic. I could see as I re-entered the park several picnic setups the store had done. Really cute but pricey and would probably use that service for a special occasion only. Sat down and was really pleased with the baguette. The bread is fresh and delicious with some high quality olive oil. Will definitely be back to support this local, woman owned & operated business. read more

My toddler and I f-ing love these little sandwiches. She talks about them to strangers and I can't blame her. But it's a real Russian roulette situation every time we go. Will they be sold out? Will they be sold out of every vegetarian sandwich? Will they have just sold the entire day's production to an 80-person picnic? All of these things have happened to us the last three times we visited in the last month. They don't have a good rhythm for keeping up supply, and apparently we don't have a good rhythm for arriving at the time when sandwiches are abundant. Then we have to buy the marinated beans. Luckily those are also excellent. But doesn't take away the pain of explaining to my small child that she cannot have a tomato mozzarella today. read more

Edit: The owner reached out and apologized to my bad experience, I felt better now. TL:TR: Baguette and other things were missing but the staff didn't care. Check each item before leaving the store! They charged a premium for their picnic bags but the presentation, the customer service, the management, nothing was worth the price! My sister and I each ordered a deluxe picnic separately and we emailed The Perfect Picnic for 11:30am pick up on 9/25/21. I got the confirmation reply pretty soon, but my sister had to send a second email. We arrived at 12pm on the day and were told that we had to wait 10 more minutes for our 11:30am pickups, we didn't mind then but looking back now, this was the first sign of the opposite of a perfect picnic. After we grabbed the picnic bags and started feasting on our picnic in the park, we noticed there were things missing from both of our orders. We made the mistake of not checking all the items in our bags in the store because we didn't want to be rude, but I would strongly suggest you to check and open each and every item before you leave the store to avoid turning your picnic into a nightmare. People at Perfect Picnic obviously don't know what's supposed to be in a deluxe bag nor what they packed for each bag. Each bag is not consistent and it's a (bad) surprise to find out what you get. They also don't tell you if there are any changes to your order. In my bag, I had 3 artisanal cheeses with 1 extra Grayson, 2 Cured Meats instead of 3, duck breast soaked in jam instead of pâté that I looked forward to (it's way too much jam in the duck box and without a jam container it's gross), 1 extra fig jam, NO baguette, NO pickled beans, and the rest was the same as the deluxe picnic bag listed on their website. In my sister's deluxe bag, she got 2 cheeses instead of 3, 2 classic Cured Meats instead of 3, jammed duck breast instead of pâté (which was fine for her), NO baguette, NO pickled beans, and the rest the same. Come on Perfect Picnic, no baguette in both orders? Even the cheaper classic picnic set has a baguette in it, I have no idea how they could miss this basic item for our orders! Nothing could ruin a good mood like having a picnic situation like this. I called the store in the middle of my picnic, a lady answered the phone and admitted that they made some mistakes and she said that they would deliver new bags to us. We were not sure if they would be able to find us so we walked back to the store. A lady came out with a bag from the back, but after seeing the photo of the food in my supposed deluxe bag she decided not to give us a new bag. She said that we (were lucky and) got the extra cheese, and also said the 3rd cure meat should be there in the "classic" (It doesn't make sense to label an item for a deluxe bag with the word "classic"! I went back and checked again but it's just 2 repeated meats in the meat bags labelled classic). She also explained that the duck breasts were replacements for the pâté, and she was ready to get rid of us. I wish they had notified us of the change before we left the store the first time expecting to enjoy some pâté. She reluctantly gave me a baguette and a pâté eventually. The lady did not seem to take the missing items in both orders seriously at all. My expectation was not high and I wished they just gave us what was stated in the deluxe picnic list instead of having an extra repeated item and missing other things. My poor sister had less items in her bag. Good thing I didn't invite friends to join our picnic otherwise it would be so embarrassing! Horrible picnic experience, never again! read more

I've walked by this shop in warmer months, but thought that it only offered catered items. I happened to walk by this evening in the cold and saw that individual items are offered. There was a nice variety of sandwiches (even vegan and vegetarian), salads and some grocery items. I tried the apple/cheese mini baguette and it was absolutely delicious. I regret not getting a second one (there is a special discounted price for two sandwiches). The quality was great, including the bread. It was a good size to not fill up and pair with another item, such as a salad. The interior of the shop is small and very cute/well arranged. The associate was very nice and friendly.
