Bruised chin after wax
India B.

The service was nice but the women was a little rough waxing my chin hairs. Rough to the point I have bruises on my chin from the experience. I probably will not be back after this.

I love Natalie! Her and her sister never disappoints! The wait isn't ever horrible, but a lot of people do visit this nail salon on a daily basis. I've been coming here for almost 8 years, and they're the most popular in the neighborhood!

Lots of staff sitting around. Cleaning would be a good idea.

2 stars is generous, but I didn't have the heart to give only one. This salon is packed with chairs and stations. You literally have to trim sideways to walk from the front to the back of the shop. Lots of nail techs when I was there, but most of them were busy watching videos on their phones and they weren't at all interested in talking to their customers. And definitely weren't interested in cleaning this salon, either, although it desperately needs a good cleaning. I'm not sure how clean their nail tools are, either. I'm half afraid I'll get some kind of foot fungus from getting a pedicure there. The tech did a decent job in my pedicure but the level of dirt and attitudes of the people working there mean I won't be going back.

Index finger looks absolutely crazy. Acrylic looks horrible!!! Worst nail job ive EVER received

Let me start by saying. I know better than to venture into any establishment on this side of town. Its in the hood, so my expectations were already low. I came to this ghetto hellhole after leaving my credit union across the street. I had some hair to do and really needed my nails cut down. My usual nail spa didnt open for another hour, so i decided to stop here to get a quick simple service. First observation, the place was filthy. Pedicure bowls and chairs were nasty and so was the floors. I figured since i was only getting a fill in, i could ignore the dirt around me. Nail tech was an older woman, i didnt catch her name. Service was horrible from beginning to end. My nails were cut and filed so unevenly that it looked like a child did it. She started the fill in by bulking the acrylic on my nails. I begged her to stop. She then got angry when i pointed out that all my nails were crooked and cut crazy. She attempted to fix it and made it worse. To make her feel better, i offered to file them down myself to get the desired neat even look. She threw the nail emery board and literally yelled $30. Im still calm at this point and said yes, i know. As she is painting my nails, i immediately realize the color is not what I'd picked but i went ahead just so she could finish. The polish was sloppy and uneven on all my fingers, but the worse was my thumbs which i asked her to do over. She agreed it was bad, then starts speaking in her language to others in the shop. The remainder of our interaction she kept talking to her fellow co workers and kept using the cuticle remover tool to pinch my fingers. Needless to say, i finally told her that i was really displeased with the unprofessional service and wanted to talk to her manager. I gave her $20 and asked that my nails be fixed in order for her to get the remaining $10. She said no and went to the manager. I followed her to meet him and before i could even explain the guy is like " u have to pay. Must pay". I agreed and said "sure but im not satisfied with the work and ur employee was very unprofessional. I would like the nails fixed by someone else since she refused". This man stood up and started screaming at me in his language. He grabbed the phone and said hes calling the police. I told him okay and let him know I'd wait for them to arrive. Meanwhile, the Asian ladies kept coming over to me frowning and throwing water on the ground in front of the shop trying to be intimidating? Once the police got there i explained the situation. The police women completely sympathized and explained that this is something that happens all the time at this business. She explained that i had to pay or go to jail. I said the money isnt an issue, i just wanted to leave satisfied and wanted my nails fixed. The rude manager came back outside to say yeah i will fix but u will wait 3 hours. By this point, I'd had enough and just left. This experience is just a reminder of how people come into minority communities, take their money and then treat the patrons like garbage. I understand that they are dealing with a sometimes difficult population, but we all are not the same and deserve to be treated with respect and professionalism. I STRONGLY discourage anyone from going to this disgusting place. They have no desire to provide "perfect" nails. They are there to rob the people of this community by providing low quality services while getting rich. BEWARE!

I have such short & sparse natural lashes that extensions really make me feel "normal". I love that you can change it up if you have formal events or keep them at a classic length for everyday work/life. I come every 3 weeks for a refill and love the way Shanna sets them as they feel comfortable! Its so easy to book, pay & tip on the StyleSeat app. I always make sure to schedule months ahead because life gets crazy and I would forget doing it every 2-3 weeks and then I would look like a naked mole rat Parking: Plenty of spaces in the parking lot. Accessibility: Stairs to get to the 2nd floor, no elevator. Appointments: Best to do it via the StyleSeat App. It shows you available times/days so you can easily see availability. Cost: Depends on what you're getting and how often you go. All costs is listed in the StyleSeat App when booking. Staff: Always friendly & professional Atmosphere: Relaxing and calm. Music plays while you're getting your services - I fall asleep all the time. They're too kind to tell me if I snore.

She came off as very professional and knowledgeable and was precise and meticulous when working on my brows. They look very full and natural now. I sometimes felt the extensions done elsewhere were sometimes inconsistent in application and would look a bit heavy on me. Additionally, I was driving to Old Town when I live in the city and would often battle additional traffic as well as parking issues. So when I saw the fabulous reviews for Dupont Lash I decided to give them a shot. First, I was so pleased with how easy it was to book and that I was able to find availability the same week. That was challenging at the last place I went because there was only 1-2 lash techs. When I met Sara, she was so helpful in asking me what look I was going for. I showed her my past applications that were my absolute favorite as well and sharing with her the overall look I was going for. She understood the assignment immediately and nailed in on the first time. When I came back the second time I just wanted as very slight modification, and once again she executed it perfectly. (And she is so lovely!) Additionally, my lashes seem to stay on some much longer. Although I typically do a two week fill, my two week mark usually still looks so fresh and so good! Overall, I'm glad I made the switch and found a place that is more convenient and consistent.
