This place is the heart of Matlacha. It's a central meeting place for locals, visitors and snowbirds alike. Staff is incredibly kind, compassionate and courteous. The food is fun, because there's a little something for everyone. Yet the staff is kind, thoughtful and relaxed enough to make accommodations. That's rare these days. Parking may be tight, but it would be silly to rely on your car in Matlacha. There is a gorgeous park nearby with a large pier and plenty of parking. From there, the Perfect Cup is a short walk and ideal mental reset to transport anyone that visits Matlacha into the prophetic and elusive "Island Time." The bubbly and enlivening environment is enough to recharge you for a play day in Matlacha. It is inspiring to see how much this small community of even smaller business manage to survive and thrive all along a 1000' strip of delightfully walkable roadway. I want to share my deep disappointment regarding my experience at your restaurant. We waited over an hour to be seated, only to watch multiple parties of two walk in and be seated within 15 minutes, while our party of three was ignored. In my opinion , a well-managed restaurant would offer to accommodate a party at a smaller table or provide updates to improve the situation. Furthermore, my husband is handicapped, and while we were not seeking special treatment or free items, it was upsetting to see our place in line disregarded so blatantly while other tables were prioritized ahead of us. While the food was acceptable, it did not justify the long wait or the unfair seating system. I hope you take this feedback seriously to ensure other guests do not have a similar experience. I won't recommend anyone to this restaurant and one of your signs says what happens here we talk all week! Wonderful late breakfast at the Perfect Cup! We got there about 11:30 and were seated immediately. Ray was our sweet server and we got coffee from the coffee bar. Today chocolate was one of the coffee flavors along with decaf Sumatra. I ordered the Greek Omelet which was very large. It had the Gyro meat as well as lots of Feta Cheese and onions. It came with a side of tzatziki sauce. I also had the grits and an English Muffin. Lots to eat! The omelet was fluffy and perfectly cooked, just the way I like it. Dave had the two large pancakes, scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. Both breakfast were fresh and done perfectly. As always we will return and support our favorite restaurant on Matlacha. read more

Come support this small restaurant! 5 star! Best service! Amazing food! My brother and sister in law come here regularly and brought my boyfriend and I for breakfast on a Sunday morning. This restaurant seemed to be booming when arriving which is very telling. Obviously the locals and visitors love it. The restaurant was decorated cute and was clean. We were seated right away. There is a coffee bar in the back with many types of coffees brewing. This allows you to try many flavors and can even purchase the bags of flavored coffee. I got a banana bread coffee that was out of this world good. I ordered a fruit and yogurt parfait for breakfast. It was huge! Packed full of yummy fresh fruit and flavorful granola. Everyone else loved their breakfast orders. The service was fast and our waitress was very friendly and welcoming. We had such a great experience and now I know why my family comes here so often. Their coffee is roasted and ground on site. It's fantastic and fresh, with several daily blends to choose from. But the BIG news is, this owner decided to finally stop charging a credit card fee!! Locally owned bussiness and it shows. If you are extra hungry the crabby daddy is a good choice, but everything on the menu is good. Amazing grits too. I typically don't care for breakfast but I am so glad I got up for this meal. I had the cream stuffed blueberry pancakes with a blueberry compote and a side of bacon. It was delicious. The bacon was thick and crispy. My husband and son had the breakfast sandwich and they really liked it. My in-laws and French toast that was very good and eggs. My son also had a strawberry smoothie. An absolute must go to when in Matalacha Florida. An unassuming quaint little place with the best coffee and breakfast I have ever had in my life. First of they have a coffee bar where you serve yourself with whatever blend of coffee you like and there are several to choose from. The breakfast menu is quite large for such a a small place. I had the Eggs Benedict with bacon. The eggs were perfectly poached. The hollandaise sauce was divine. Served with amazing grits with a sprinkle of freshly grated cheese. Love this place!! Came here for a quick breakfast before going to okay tennis and this hit the spot. I had to try the seafood chowder and was definitely not disappointed. The chowder was thick and creamy, nicely spiced and full of plenty seafood. I tried the French toast as well, it was just okay, it helped my craving for something "breakfasty". My girlfriend had the big breakfast and enjoyed it. I love that they have a DIY coffee bar, and the smoothies I saw coming out looked good as well. Super keen coffee shop in Matlacha (pardon my Australian). It's kind of a hybrid between your typical grab n go coffee shop and a sit down breakfast place- it's really got both options if you can imagine that. And it's definitely a quite local place so it's has a great feel, and it's decorated really uniquely, almost as if you've been transported to an off-road jungle area in another country. We did sit down for breakfast and I thought it was just a good, classic meal. No complaints, no fluffs, just good food that fills the belly. I got a flavored coffee and it was way too strong, so I watered it down with the regular coffee they have sitting out, so I guess maybe just beware of that if you get flavored drinks usually. But it's really a great place and it's right on the main road of Matlacha so a good location for the area as well! read more

We absolutely LOVE this place! We've been coming here for over a year and we were terrified that Hurricane Ian would shutter their doors for good. But Richard and Rachael are "Matlacha Strong" fighters, and they were one of the first businesses to be in a position to reopen after the storm. The food is GREAT. Portions are huge. Service is fast. Staff is like family. I like the fact that they will serve "lunch" items any time of day; I'm not really an egg-person, but I love a savory sandwich for breakfast, and they offer a tempting selection. Best of all, the "endless coffee bar". They usually feature four options here: Mild, Strong, Flavored, and decaf. Some mornings I have a tough time getting going, so around a gallon of coffee or so and I'm ready to face the world. They roast their own beans, and will blend and/or roast to meet any customer's request. Considering the quality of their beans, their roasted whole-bean prices are more than fair, too! read more

Perfect Cup has been a staple in my (JH) family for years. When our now-teenage son was born, it was his first trip out. And whether it's your first visit or your thousandth, it's always the same. This time, as usual, I started with a coffee. Perfect Cup got its start born out of a number of coffee shops in Cape Coral called Origins. They roast their coffee in-house and have a wide variety of flavors to choose from. I've tried dozens and they're all great. This time I tried a couple different flavors from their coffee bar and all were fantastic. Coffee bar is $3 and includes free refills...they even have to-go cups for one last Joe on the go. They also sell their coffee whole bean or ground to make at home. The Scottish Grog has always been a favorite of mine. I ordered the Greek omelette with breakfast potatoes and sourdough toast. There's not much to go into with the meal itself because it was all...perfect. The omelette has fantastic balance of gyro meet to feta to tzatziki to tomato to egg ratio and was cooked to perfection. It was the same story with the potatoes. Though I prefer my potatoes a little crispier as a general rule, the blend of sliced potatoes and onions was glorious. Throw in toasted sourdough bread and I'm sold. I've probably had a hundred meals at Perfect Cup over the years and I don't see that changing anytime soon. This was my (JD) first time and it definitely will not be my last. I'm a breakfast for breakfast guy, so I went with a lunch option. I started with a bowl of the seafood chowder. It's the best in the area, hands down. The flavors, consistency, and bits of seafood were perfect. I would definitely suggest treating yourself to a cup of this amazing chowder. I then had the patty melt with their breakfast potatoes. The patty melt was fantastic. The beef was good, the onions were delicious, the rye was great, and the melt was greasy, exactly as a melt should be. My only critique is that I thought it needed a sauce. But I love sauce. Regardless, it was so tasty and I would happily eat it again. I think Josh summed up the potatoes perfectly. I usually like them crispy, but those onions...they are hard to beat. This is a great little place. It's one of the few places still standing and relatively untouched by hurricane Ian. They deserve your business and you owe it to yourself to give them a try. They will appreciate your support and you will appreciate their amazing food. I look forward to my next trip there. read more

Earlier that morning, a line of strong storms came through, but afterwards when we wandered in for a late breakfast, the place was packed like nothing happened! Another thing I noticed that stood out was the number of staff. There were so many workers running around keeping people happy and fed.
