She kept pulling the waxing paper wrong which made the paper kept getting stuck to my area and the hairs weren't completely remove. On top of that she wax my belly which is not part of the Brazilian wax and while applying the wax it was super hot on my skin which I develop a rash and allergic reaction which cause me to be in pain for two days! I was being kind by providing a tip for poor service, but the workers were making fun of my tip amount. The young girl spoke in her language as if I couldn't hear them gossiping. In any case, I have dark, thick eyebrows that start at my hairline and end on my eyelid. I also take vitamins to make my hair grow, and it works... but most especially on my eyebrows. If I weren't obsessed with grooming I would have bushy, grandpa brows. Eww. To prevent that I walk around with tweezers and a hand mirror. I did not however enjoy the Brazilian at all. The Brazilian gets one star. She began very rough and I immediately knew it would be bad. I am no stranger to Brazilian waxes and that woman, was by far the worst. She took a while to begin because she needed to set up her headphone and mic as she spoke on the phone the entire time... For eyebrows this place is amazing, they do a great job. They give your eyebrows nice shape and it's very affordable. For Brazilian on the other hand I will give it 1 star. There is only one lady that does the wax and SHE DOUBLE DIPS! How disgusting is that. She's very quick and gets everything off but they double dip. I've been there a few times and I never noticed she doubled dip until I started to get bumps once I noticed I stopped going over there. I was reading the reviews and no one pointed that out. Another thing that I noticed is that she doesn't wash her hands, I know she has gloves on but you're suppose to wash your hands before and after and she doesn't. I know the place gets packed with customers but that doesn't mean you don't have to wash your hands because there is a lot of people. The place is just that, an threading salon, and they offer additional services however I've only ever gotten my eyebrows threaded there. I went to this place about 2 weeks ago and just got around to writing my review. I was impressed. Let me start out by saying this was my FIRST Brazilian wax ever! And I am on a budget so I decided on this place. When I walked in I was greeted nicely, and taken into a back room. Everything looked clean, she showed me new wax and assured me and showed me there was NO double dipping! So I loved that. I expressed it was my first time. As far as the wax it was painful. It was my first one though so I take that into account. Not painful to the point I had to stop, but not pleasant. However she worked very fast so it was over quick! She gave great instructions on what to do and how to help her and she was very nice. Overall good experience. I will def be going back each month for my Brazilian! However, I got a facial here... Do not get their facials. The woman doing it was on her phone several times and some of her spit actually fell on my face! So much so that I don't even have the energy to write about it or the heart to retell my terrible experiences. The customer service is atrocious. I vacillate between 3.5 and 4 stars for this place. I must say I hate threading but the price, location, and the fact that most of the ladies do I good job keeps me coming back. I recommend finding the lady you like and sticking with her. I didn't do that once and ended getting skin lifted from my lips from a wax. All healed well but seriously shouldn't have happened. Didn't realize it until I left. Don't let that deter you, they're more of a threading place and don't do wax much. Stick to the threading here. Pros: they're fast, cheap, do a good job with threading eyebrows, and have a reward card (after a few threading sessions you get 1 free just have them stamp your card.) Cons: they usually talk on the phone while they work on you. Pretty annoying but I'm sure if you ask them to focus they'll stop. They also accept cards. read more

This establishment sticks out amongst a row of other businesses on 181st st. It is very chic and clean looking, which was a huge plus the first time I visited (about 2 months ago). My first visit 2 months ago was to get my eyebrows waxed, however, I saw that they did threading for the same price ($7) and thought I'd try it out since I had been wanting to for a while. The woman who worked on me the first time was friendly, explained everything she was going to do, and then proceeded to do it very quickly. My eyebrows had never looked better and I was incredibly pleased! On my second visit, about a month ago, another lady threaded my eyebrows. While she was hospitable and also made quick work with my brows, I didn't feel as if they were as clean as they had been done previously. The shape was not as defined as I remembered them being the first time, which was a little disappointing. (Also, hence the 4 stars) I am making a visit there today, and am hoping that I get the same lady as my first visit. I will update after! read more

I started coming because it was convenient, I worked at the near by hospital. But after I changed jobs (5 years ago), I have continued coming to Perfect Brows in St. Nicholas Avenue in Manhattan, from the Bronx, because of the phenomenal service i have received from Joti every time I come in. DON'T GO HERE. ZERO STAR!! I agree with the reviewer below! The women have no work etiquette except a young one. They are constantly talking loudly in Punjabi and not paying attention to what they are doing. If you speak up, you are at fault, they get defensive and poke sarcasm at you. For 10 minutes of work, they charge a fortune, don't give a receipt and don't show any respect to the customer. Today, I walked in and was assigned to a woman. This woman had a very rough hand I felt that she would rip my skin near the eyebrows. She had no idea what she was doing was constantly talking loudly. I saw the younger women who normally does my eyebrows and switched to her. At the end, I mentioned to the young women that the eyebrow done by the first women has become too thin despite telling her to keep it natural. Guess what, the second women butts in and starts talking to me if I saw the first women earlier. This women once gave me a cut couple of years ago on the upper lip and showed me quite a temperament in the past. I gave her benefit of doubt and switched to the young women. I don't know where this woman was going with the talk and I asked her to not speak in between and if there is a manager and she told me that I am having a bad day and they have long term customers. I lost control and had an argument after such a bad experience. If they have a manager, two of three women should be fired. Try perfect brows at 71st street and broadway. Rarely do I write negative reviews, but this one takes the cake. I normally go here for just eyebrows and decided to venture out to eyelashes. BIG mistake! I don't know who I went to, but she was very rude. They had a long line so they were rushing all these women through their services. I got the individual eyelashes and realized after a week that they're all glued to my real lashes! Its taken days of vaseline, olive oil, and coconut oil and theyre STILL not out. I want to slap myself for ever thinking that getting lash extensions from this place was a good idea. But I had a wedding to attend, no time to go somewhere else, and Perfect Brows is very close to my work. BAD IDEA! Yes, the price is cheap ($25), but that's because they use synthetic clumps of hair, NOT individual lashes that are carefully glued onto your own lashes by a trained and meticulous professional. Here is the eyelash extension process at Perfect Brows: Synthetic hair clods are hurriedly jammed onto your lashes/eyelids with gobs of glue that harden into spiky lumps that constantly jab your eye. While the lady is poking gluey tweezers in your eye, you are expected to contort into weird positions in order to hold your red, watery, blinkey eyeball open while also holding a fan in your face to dry the permanent glue. In the end, the lashes didn't even look good - she used super long lashes of uniform length along my whole lash line, which made me look like a sloppy drag queen. And the glue was so spiky that it poked my eyeballs the whole day and I ended up ripping some of my eyelashes out while I was sleeping because I was rubbing at my eyes so much. They were so uncomfortable/painful I had to remove them the next day. And in process several of my own eyelashes came out. Leaving a few tiny patchy bald spots. The only other service I have tried here is the eyebrow threading, which is awesome. I have no complaints about the eyebrow work, they really do a great job at threading and shaping brows. CONCLUSION: This place does perfect brows, but NOT perfect lashes. If you want cheap lashes, there is a sneaker/jewelry/small appliance/perfume store in Harlem that has an eyelash table and tattoo table in the back of the store. Lash extensions are $12 and probably better quality than the ones at Perfect Brows. read more

I used to go to this eyebrow place before all the time, but stopped going because i found another place closer my job. Last week i went back to fix a henna tattoo i had gotten done and oh boy, it was fantastic. Abby did my henna and it was truly a work of art.
