I think a few summers ago the girl who worked there told me every fresh item they sold is from Maine except the potatoes, which were from PEI. I wish the maple syrup and canned items were a little more local to Wales, but at least they are from Maine. My niece loved seeing the goats and chickens. Their fresh corn on the cob is the best around.

We've now been back three times, and each visit has been better than the last. Today we had the pleasure of meeting the owners, Nancy and Ed, and they are wonderful. Incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Their entire team is just as friendly and helpful. They even had a fantastic Father's Day special--25% off fruit trees and fruit plants--which made our visit even sweeter. Thanks to them, we found the perfect additions for our garden, and this place has officially become part of our Sunday routine whenever we're in town. As I walked the rows, I could identify that the items were made in America - items that we should have been taught about in grammar school - a curriculum with science, math, growing crops and raising a chicken - perhaps learning about proper care for a horse - if I could turn back time and do it all over, but I can't. What I can do is come to Richmond Agway Farm and Home and talk with Jim again. He's someone who takes the old fashioned approach to customer relations - his soft voice and kind eyes kept me wanting to stay and listen beyond the thirty minutes we spent together.

There are a few employees there that have been kind and helpful to me in the past (like the gentleman who helped me last night!) but more than once I've been made to feel like a bother when asking questions. It's very conveniently located in town so I do stop there sometimes, but I certainly wouldn't go there to stock up on everything I'd need for a big project.
