From the moment guests arrived, they were welcomed into an environment that felt warm, intentional, and inspiring. One of the standout features of the venue is the beautiful bar area--its design and gorgeous lighting truly set the tone and added a special ambiance to the entire event. It created such a memorable backdrop for connection, conversation, and celebration throughout the day. The venue also includes a beautiful outdoor space, which added so much dimension to the experience. We hosted wellness vendors outside and even had a photo shoot on the other side of the courtyard--it flowed seamlessly with the rest of the event and offered the perfect mix of indoor and outdoor vibes. Our event included sound baths, massage therapy, wellness activations, and more--and the space accommodated it all effortlessly. Amanda, Lamont, and their team were an absolute pleasure to work with, helpful, professional, and genuinely supportive. If you're planning an event in Oakland and want a space that's both stylish and soulfully curated, I can't recommend The Alice Collective enough. We're already looking forward to coming back!

The area I was waiting in was artsy and modern, but a small space with complimentary coffee/tea in the shared kitchen and some conference/meeting rooms that probably had to be reserved. It was fairly quiet with only a couple of people using this space the 2 times I have been here, so it felt pretty chill and relaxing.

I have to admit, a few minutes in my wife and I both thought... ohh wait, Shakespeare is not so easy to follow and not so fun, but by intermission we were loving it and by the end so impressed. It is a really impressive cast, and the theater size was intimate and perfect for that kind of production. Really special. The Flight Deck apparently is home to a few core performing groups and a much bigger community of performing arts groups that don't have permanent space. I love the idea of a shared space for so many small theater groups and plan to support others - I'll be curious to see how good the others are, but I've heard great things. By coincidence, we ran into some very close friend's parents who live a few blocks away. They sold their house in Florida where they worked and raised their family and moved into a small downtown Oakland condo a few years ago and have gotten really involved in the Oakland arts and downtown scene. They said they and a group of other older folks they know in downtown go to every production at the Flight Deck and that many of the different groups they've seen so far have impressed them. Very cool space, great cast, great show. What a gem for downtown Oakland!

With the letdown and passive inability to communicate that was my experience with the 25th Street Collective, please take my advice and do not plan on having your private event here. Really, don't. We came to 25C with great expectations and were blown away at the friendliness of the staff, who assured us that we had secured the space for a private event. We were excited, ready with a deposit check, and couldn't have been more excited to work with the team at 25C and Two Mile Wines (which is inside of the current location). We received multiple confirmations that things were all set, only to have our contract put on hold for months because the gutless 25C staff wasn't professional enough to let us know they couldn't host our event because of internal lease issues. Our event was set back by months and we were left scrambling to find another venue. Despite multiple phone calls and emails, the passive, unprofessional group at 25C still never told us they couldn't host our event. Instead, they just passively put things off like children and said that they're "figuring things out." They never returned phone calls on-time, emailed us back as promised, or ever came to a resolution for our disappointing situation. If you can't do something, just say it - really. We're all grown ups here. It would have saved us a miserable scramble to find a new space. If you're considering renting out 25C, rent another place. I'm sure it's fine for the regular goings on, first Fridays, and displays of work on Saturdays. but for private events - look elsewhere unless you particularly like working with a group of event people whose professionalism and communication skills are on par with a group of six year olds who don't know how to admit that they broke your grandmother's vase.
