There's a regular feature of live music, a classy atmosphere, and the staff are always happy to see you, whether it's your first visit or your fifteenth. Special occasions such as Fathers Day, Mothers Day and Christmas are always very popular, so book well in advance. Kids are well catered for with a seperate menu, and there's always colouring in sheets available for your table - family friendly at it's best. As far as bistro dining in the suburbs goes, I'd suggest the Rezz offers some of the best value for money to be found.

Our table for four was booked for 12.30pm, and were were home by1.45pm so maybe that says something in itself. Upon our arrival the waiter could not find our allocated table number 71, and were were standing in front of many empty tables waiting for that to be sorted. He then turned up with our table number and swapped it with for a table with number 48. So we're sitting at the table with no menus and a different lady came up to take our order. She ran off to bring some menus when another lady brought us some. When the waitress came back and saw us with a menu each, she placed her four menus at the end of the table saying joyfully "you can have two each now". We had hardly had our menus when we were asked by another waitress what we would like to order and requested another couple of minutes. Another waitress (a different one again) took our order, and our predrinks were soon served followed by our shared entree of garlic pizza. Three of our mains arrived, and we had to wait for our son to receive his main meal of pizza and the time was ticking. Some of our empty plates were taken by another male waiter, and I asked whether we were supposed to get a bowl of sliced bread as we'd noticed other tables have it. The waiter did ask whether we wanted bread, and it really was too late as he had cleared my dishes. So another staff member (the guy on the till) came to take my son's pizza tray away, and took our table number away. We were never asked if we wanted more drinks, nor later offered the dessert menu or asked whether we wanted coffee. After waiting waiting waiting we decided to leave so I went to pay the bill. I was not told what we had to verify the total, and as it seemed like the right amount. I spoke of my displeasure in the lack of service, and he asked whether we wanted coffees but it was far too late as the boys were ready to go. I stated that we'd be unlikely to return and he said we must come back to try. There is no incentive to return.

Really enjoyed my first visit to The Italian Place today. Service was quick and efficient, and the…read moreprices of the food and drink was very competitive. They catered well for our large group, bringing orders promptly and not messing any of them up. The decor is very Italian delicatessan slash cafe and is just lovely. There's a huge range of foodstuffs for sale to take home as well as fresh baked breads, salads, pastries, deserts, savouries and more. There's also a fantastic Italian Vespa on display inside. The French vanilla flat white coffee I had was quite possibly the best I've had in a VERY long time, and at $3.40, cheaper than a lot of other places. I also tried the almond tart which was impossible to resist, and I was not disappointed, it was incredibly delicious and not overly sweet, just right. Overall, this is a great place for a coffee and cake stop, or even a coffee stop. And while you're at it, grab some fresh bread or other things to take home! I'll definitely be back.

Is it a bakery? Is it a delicatessen? Well yes but it's also a cafe/pizza bar!…read more Some Sunday nights (check FB for more details: https://www.facebook.com/TheItalianPlace) they host pizza nights and for $25.00 (yes, twenty five dollars) you get to sit among the shelves of pasta, tomato pieces and every type of pickled vegetable and enjoy antipasto (freshly sliced from behind the counter), pizza (all you can eat), dessert and coffee/tea. The all you can eat pizza is an unusual concept because you don't have to finish the pizza to get a new one. We ate a half a seafood pizza before moving on to another and finished half of that and the leftovers were put in a box for us to bring home! You don't really order anything its more of a "get what you are given" scenario which is good for us indecisive people because you don't have to agonise over the menu trying to make a decision. Desserts are baked in house and the snowflake/hazelnut one we had was amazing but again they just bring out whatever dessert they want and you just enjoy. To top is all off the house wine is pretty cheap so a very inexpensive night out!

But there they are, just to the right of the sliding door entrance to Newton Plaza. From the looks of things, they are worth finding too, as they had a nice crowd at 1:30 on a Thursday afternoon. But with plenty of seating, it was no problem to get a quiet little table in the corner. Inside its pretty amazing. On centre stage is a large, very fancy coffee roaster. That's a good sign that the coffee will be good and freshly roasted, but more on that later. Looking around, you'll see a variety of old grinders, percolators and other coffee paraphernalia on display, along with a great selection of cups and stove-top espresso makers. A big surprise is a huge selection of leaf teas! Not so big a surprise is a huge selection of freshly roasted coffee beans with choices from all over the world. On display at the ordering counter are lots of panini and focaccia style light bites and sweet cakes and muffins. A large coffee beverage menu shares equal space with a tea menu and ordering proved to be a pleasant experience with the cheerful staff on board. I had a latte and a cheese danish. I am, how do I say it...picky about my coffee. So, looking for a word that sums up what they brought to me, I come up with AWESOME!. Smooth and flavourful, it was coffee made as the gods above meant it to be. The danish was very good too, but oh man, the coffee was wowsers. Will I be back? The short answer is yes. In fact I am due back here Saturday morning as this is the start point for a Yelp-led safari of the Campbelltown environs. But I'll be back after that for sure too. Eat, drink and be merry, but not too much! JD

La dolce vita! I…read morelove the absolute sense of time and place Java Lifestyle Coffee & Tea has - so self assured and professional - "we do coffee and we do it damn well"! I don't know why but Java reminds me of another Adelaide gem - Lucia's in the Central Market. Java has the same retro (unintentional) 70's style. This local well kept secret has to be "the business" by the number of local Italian identities frequenting on a daily basis. Java makes me feel like I've stepped into a cafe on the back streets of Naples or Rome - it's not flash, hipster or trendy but it provides an absolutely essential service to the community - consistently exceptional coffee. Well worth making the trip to Newton on the weekend if you're not a local as they now have a breakfast menu 7.30-11.00 am (get there early - this place is buzzing from mid morning on). They also sell a delectable range of Italian dolci plus freshly baked enormous muffins. Although I haven't tried the teas they have an excellent range of blends and I am assured that Mario has taken the same care in selection as he does roasting his coffee beans.

Nearly all the offerings come in both a small bite size serving, ideal for cocktail parties, or and individual serve perfect for dinner parties or dessert.
