This was the best breakfast I've had here in Adelaide. Ordered the Pummelled Pumpkin- Basil pesto,…read moregrill asparagus, crispy kale, parmigiana reggiano, poached egg on dark rye. The composition of the dish was well balanced, multi-layered and aesthetically pleasing. We also tried the baked egg with scallops- very savory and hot! Well balanced with the creamy poached eggs and cauliflower purée at the bottom paired with the crunchy pangrattato and crispy bacon. Would definitely order again Delicious!! Their coffee is excellent - super smooth. We were lucky to sit upstairs at the bar seating and witnessed them roasting their own coffee beans. No wonder the coffee is so tasty. I just wish the serving size was bigger so I could have more haha.

The place was very light and airy. We sat on the ground level, but there is also an indoor balcony area and a couple outdoor tables. I was very happy with the bloody Mary, got a good depth of flavor and a moderate spicy level. I LOVED the whipped avo. It was basically a deconstructed avocado toast. The avo was so light and fluffy and tangy, absolutely amazing on its own, but then to pair it with the feta, pickled rhubarb and the beautiful artisan toast - I ate every last crumb and wished there were more.

I think that a lot of people drive past on their way to wineries, but they should really stop for a coffee. It is just the cutest cottage. A few different rooms and you will find the café part in the middle room. What I really love about this place is all the little hidden room dining areas. There are range of take away options for lunch or dinner for the family. Some super tasty looking stews, pasta and salads. Wow! All decently priced and a great healthy alternative then going out for takeaway. I look forward to return to eat some lunch. On this visit my guest and I tried the Lemon Polenta and the Pecan cake. Both were very moist, full of flavour, and not too sweet. Which is perfect by my books. The coffee is a strong and robust. Lovely blend and great barista. You couldn't have asked for anything better on a cold rainy day! I think I might become a regular as a resident of the Hills! I am looking forward to warming up near their open fireplace.

As is often the case, I'm glad I was wrong. Little did I know a quirky little cafe is the perfect replacement for a redundant service station! So far I've only had coffee, but based on the experience of our group the overall customer experience is great! Our coffees (and one iced chocolate) came out really promptly and were top notch (and very affordable somehow). We opted to sit out the back, a great choice for a bright, warm hills Autumn morning. It feels like being out the back of my Nanna's house (retro table and all) only no one is yelling at me through the back window about the football scores.. which is good I guess, for a cafe anyway.

When you first enter you notice it is clean and reasonably quiet especially when taking into account its size. In addition there is adequate seating for a variety of group sizes and the tables do not feel cramped or crowded with unnecessary condiments or extraneous items. As you approach the ordering area you will be enticed to grab something sweet! I certainly was, but only with Herculean effort did I resist (this time). At this visit there was an orange polenta muffin prominently displayed at eye level and a raspberry brownie that called out to me from among the delicious and fresh looking selections... Looking over the menu there were a variety of selections to appeal to everyone, including veggos! I decided on a toastie with smoked salmon and scrambled egg. It had an attractive appearance and was, indeed, delicious if just a tad too salty. Though I didn't have coffee at this visit I will be back as I understand it is of the cold pressed variety!! And make no mistake, I will be back, that polenta muffin is still calling out to me...
