Thursday night last week we decided to sit in the cafe for a cup of tea after we had been out for dinner. It was really lovely to sit and relax, and the cup of tea was lovely. They served the tea with a bone china cup and saucer :) which always makes tea taste better :) The coffee that my Dad had was really good also :) I will certainly go here agian next time Mum and Dad stay here :)

For a hotel eatery, it's prices are very reasonable, and has a good selection of cafe food, from light meals and salads to standard hotel food, and standard prices. It has a large pizza menu, and prices range from $13-18 for gourmet and large pizzas, which can be taken away. The pizzas are good quality, though nothing particularly special. The interior is large, filled with dark leather furniture. It's a good cool place to be on a hot day, to drink a coffee and watch whatever sport is playing on the TV. In terms of nearby cafes, it doesn't have much atmosphere, feeling more like a hotel than a cafe. I was very impressed with the coffee here, as I asked the waitress to make it cooler than usual, and she said "About 50 degrees?" Talking in degrees at least means she knows what she's doing with the milk. She came out with a perfectly heated coffee that I could drink immediately and not start sweating. This may appall some coffee drinks, but I like mine at any temperature. Heaven help the person who throws away my coffee because it's gone cold. I had my coffee with a tasty banana and caramel tart as their $6.50 deal. Completely satisfying.

It's not a place I go to on a regular basis, but if I'm in the area and need a caffeine hit before I do a big shop at the supermarket nextdoor, it's a quite little place to enjoy a quick lunch and a coffee. The interior is casual, yet sophisticated, reminiscent of some sort of aristocratic lounge room. It's got a very relaxed atmosphere about it - a lot of people flipping through newspapers and magazines and quiet murmuring sets it apart from the hustle and bustle of other cafes. I've had a few coffees here before, and they were reasonably good. They also make fresh fruit smoothies, but the mango smoothie I tried was quite tart, so I'd exercise caution with regard to the fruits you choose. The staff is very friendly and chatty, and they can't be faulted for the excellent service. The shame about this cafe is that it has virtually no outdoor seating with the exception of one table. It's squeezed against the wall on the narrow footpath lining the store fronts, and only a few feet away from the car park. Whilst the interior is relatively nice, there is no chance of properly enjoying a coffee on a sunny day outdoors, as the number of people brushing by you and the endless cars coming in and out of the car park will really piss you off. I feel that if this cafe was located elsewhere, perhaps even on the other side of the street, it would garner a larger customer base, better ambience and an overall better experience for the patron.

They serve breakfast from 8 until 12 week days, and until 2pm on Saturday. Their breakfast menu is standard, but the food is fresh and hearty. While their foccacias look good and have a tasty range of fillings, they end up being a little small. Mine came out, stacked elegantly one half leaning off the other, looking sadly small and lonely on the plate. I had the prosciutto and cream cheese option, and they're generous on the pig! They use a very thick and tasty type of prosciutto, which went well with the cream cheese and baby spinach leaves. I finished feeling almost satisfied, which I didn't mind, because it meant I could get myself cake later on. I was pleased to find that they do a great coffee - strong and smooth, not too hot, and a generous size. Definitely the best coffee to be had in this centre. Their "Happy Hour" is one for the oldies - from 2.30pm to 3.30pm they have coffee and cake for $6.50 and coffee and biscuit for $4.50. Any later and people won't be sleeping that night. It's a cute little cafe, and does good, simple food at good prices.

Went back today with assurances that with the new manager on duty it had improved greatly from my previous encounters, and it has in fact... but not to a level that I'd like to go back and try it again. My Cappuccino was average and lacking in flavour, as was the cinnamon french toast that I tried. The toast was chewy with barely a taste of cinnamon, most of the flavour from the strawberries and maple syrup that were extras. We were here with my nanna who is currently in a wheelchair, and the coffee club is actually a good place in this kind of circumstance as there is enough room surrounding to park wheelchairs or prams, which is not the case for some of the other coffee shops located in the centre so there is a positive!

Not once have the staff had a problem with that and some of them have even got to know what she can and can't eat before she even asks. There's a small play area to keep kids entertained and they also serve baby cinos and a good kids menu. Unlike some cafés the kids menu is much more appealing and isn't too unhealthy.
