Pepp'rmint Stick needs some work. I'm nostalgic about this place from childhood, and the building itself is vintage. They have installed digital menus inside that move and don't show the whole menu. Very confusing, and not really needed for a burger joint. I really wanted onion rings, but couldn't find them on the menu so I didn't order them. As I was eating, I saw them listed on the old fashioned menus leading up to the drive-thru. I'll probably be skipping this place and going to Miner's instead the next time I'm in Yakima craving a burger. read more

One of union gaps finest. A nice small burger place not that far off from the freeway. The food is a little more pricey compared to other fast food chains. However the quality makes up for it. The wait can be a little long here, especially during dinner time. The shakes here are some of the best in town! no weird artificial taste and always thick. Oh my goodness. Old school decor, clean, prices were right, all the right smells, all the right flavors, friendly staff, good order time. Seems a small thing, but often skipped over, but the food was hot. Not microwave hot, but fresh off the grill burn your tongue hot. The double burger and the onion rings needed to cool down a touch before I could get started on the amazing throw back flavors. This is what a burger joint is supposed to be. And if you make it to their location, a must have is the peppermint shake. There are actual crushed up peppermint candy pieces in the mix. Genius. Would go just for the shake. You have to respect the old school places that still produce the same product over time, this is one of them. I'm pretty sure the food you get now is exactly the same it was 20 years ago. We came by this lovely little drive-through after a trip down to the train museum in Toppenish. We were transported back to a time when malts were plentiful, burgers were hand crafted and pinball machines are readily available! We began with a drive-through attempt, but soon converted to inside as they made everything from scratch and this method took more time than our 2 and 4 year olds were interested in spending not moving. The desired vittles were chicken nuggets and a corn dog. The 3.99 kids menu is a streak and included some awesome fries! I had the wild card which included a bacon cheeseburger, garlic fries (reminiscent of the garlic fries served at Safeco Field!) and a drink for something like $10. In my opinion, it was definitely better than a two whopper deal! The digs are reminiscent of a 50s diner with plenty of Elvis memorabilia, neon clocks and some great signage. The family guy pinball machine was boss and required an explanation to my kids as to what it did and why it doesn't have a touch screen. Updated review..... I came here after black friday shopping and hanging out at Verizon to replace my friends phone and I was starving. I got the Cheeseburger meal (med peppermint shake and fries). I was in heaven, the fries were a little skimpy (why the four star), but the burger was insanely good and the fries were delightful. I enjoyed the milkshake sooo much it was perfect for a ending of the day. I ended up having miners the weekend before when I came down and I have to say this place has tastier burgers, perfect size and the fries are tastier, but I will also say I love their milkshakes better, I do love miners its just this place wasn't open late. The prices were was like 11.00 bucks with tax and all, I was very happy with everything going on on my plate that date, cant wait to go back. I love coming to this place for milkshakes. I even love coming for the peppermint milkshakes they are sooo tasty. I had one this weekend and let me tell you ALL the memories of going there came back. Its never hit or miss and the best hole in the wall spot in union gap. I was in drive up waiting on my food for 15 min when they asked me to pull around front and they would bring my food right out. I did totally understand that they wanted to help people in car behind me. But then I waited another 15min out front, watched 2 more cars go through drive through. I got off and knocked on door, waited another 2 min while staff acted like they couldn't see me. Finally the girl who took my order grabbed a bag off the counter (it had been sitting there how long??!! Ready to go!!) she opens the door just enough to get the bag through and locks it back up without saying a word! I get in my car and my fries are cold! My burgers Luke warm. Oh and I was charged 11.50 for what looked like a kids burger! My daughter n I ordered same burger hers was just plain. It was less than 1/2 the size of mine! Not impressed at all! read more

Old fryer grease, stale buns, dried out beef patty. It's actually all too disgusting to describe. It comes with Pepperjack cheese and bacon, Jalapenos and a barbecue sauce that really makes this burger come alive. The taste with the jalapenos and barbecue sauce is a perfect balance Great Taste. It comes as a meal with Fries and a Pepsi or just the hamburger. Their Big Dave's Deluxe a Big Burger if your really hungry. In a town with Big Burger places this is a stand out. Give it a try.
