My husband and I stopped in at Major's, and wow--it did not disappoint! I got the Major's bacon cheeseburger with beer-battered dip fries, and everything was super yummy. The burger was flavorful and cooked just right, and the fries were crispy and delicious. My husband ordered "The General" with tater tots, and he said it was GOOD! He also got a banana shake, which he really enjoyed. The service was great--the ladies were very nice, attentive, and helpful, which made the experience even better. The vibe is awesome--kind of a fun 50's diner feel with stool seating, plus sports memorabilia all around, which adds a cool touch. We actually chose this spot because Cooper Kupp said it's his favorite place to eat in Yakima, and now we can see why. Definitely worth checking out! read more

Any place that charges for a condiment simply doesn't know how to do business! A simple major cheeseburger meal now costs about $19 out the door with no fry sauce or ranch or tarter sauce. Also if you order a chicken strip basket, you don't get chicken strips, you receive thinly sliced breasts that are breaded. Chicken strips are supposed to be the tenderloin which is a completely different muscle than the breast. There was no "what can I get for you guys" nothing. Very rude employees. Fries don't come with sauce, it costs extra. A seven dollar kids meal and fry sauce is extra. I've never heard of that before. It's the cheapest, greediest thing Ive seen in a long time. To make things worse, when I asked to talk to a manager, the employee shut the window right in my face. The Hamburgers are Huge. The prices may put you off initially but when you see what you get AND taste it, you'll be pleased. My young-adult daughter likes the chicken salad and they go above and beyond, there are three kinds of crackers in the salad besides what you'd expect. Great value. Great hometown vibe. Came inside and noticed the throwback decor which was cool. But then I noticed a couple of teens working the counter which made me kind of nervous. I made my order of a Major burger with cheese, curly fries and a medium drink. The guy that took my order forgot to give me my drink right away and he would have forgot if I didn't remind him when my food came out. My food did come out pretty quick though, made me question if their food sits under head lamps. As far as the taste goes, the big burger was decent. There were lettuce, pickles, grilled onions (nice touch), and mayo but no tomatoes which was weird (at least have some ketchup!) The curly fries were good and I got some ranch on the side. Major's is one of the BEST places to go and eat if you want a good burger or some fish and chips. We went there tonight and ordered a Junior Cheeseburger and two Cod and Chips, one with Onion Rings and one with Tater Tots. We also ordered a Vanilla Milkshake and one scoop of Cotton Candy Ice Cream. Each of the Cod and Chips also came with a cup of Ivar's Clam Chowder. The Junior Cheeseburger was superb. The Cod and Chips was delicious, as were the Onion Rings and Tater Tots. The Clam Chowder was pretty good, but just a little too floury. Other than that, everything was perfect. The Milkshake and Ice Cream were marvelous. All of the portions were huge; we left with a box of leftovers. The prices were a little higher than average, but the food was very high quality. The service was fast and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would like to give a shoutout to Miranda. She was very friendly and helpful. Ended up being more expensive because fries and drink do not come with the burger.
