Being in my old neighborhood I had to stop in for a bite after some range shooting with the guys. One of my first reviews when I was just starting out as a Yelper. lol Not much has changed. A cool Sports theme decor with plenty of seating. And one of the bigger bars in the area with nice high tops. I had the Bacon Swiss Mushroom burger with all the toppings. Huge and delicious. Some of the other plates at our table were wings, calzones, Sausage and peppers grinder, pizza and a Greek salad. Liked the smoke free environment to watch the Steelers game, but waitress was clearly over worked, or poorly trained, was limited in knowledge of menu. I tried to order the bruschetta and the waitress thought it was a beverage they didn't have...Wow. Note- If you are soy intolerant - beware - they must use soy oil in the frier a very ugly episode occurred before reaching home. On that theme, the bathrooms were neglected for cleaning. We have been to Pepperoni's twice now for Steeler's game and it is definitely a sports bar/restaurant! Great pizza and sandwiches! Service is not the fastest, but everyone we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. The owner is great at seating people (like fans) together to maximize space on game-day and alerts a server for drinks and food order. Food- we have tried the fried Mac and cheese (8/10) Margherita pizza (9/10 great thin crust), Buffalo chicken pizza (8/10 a bit messy but very tasty and delicious fluffy crust) and the Italian sub (7.5/10) and the fudge mountain brownies (9.5/10 so big and delicious!) Pepperoni's has become our little spot to hang out late at night. They have pool tables, a full bar, and the kitchen stays open late. What else can I ask for? This is a great sport bar. There's tv's everywhere and a big screen. They have karaoke nights on Wednesday too. Service is okay. They're usually very busy so I don't expect great service. I've never had any issues though. The service is good but the food isn't anything worth revisiting. I have friends that enjoyed their meals but every time I go I'm underwhelmed. I guess it depends on what you're going for. If you're going to have a beer, watch a game and play pool 4 stars but if you're going for the sports bar environment (game day + food) then Taco Mac is literally right across the street. Do you know that moment when you're coming home late at night and realize that all the pizza places are about to close and there's no way you'll get there in time? Good news, fellow pizza enthusiasts, I have a solution for you! I was coming back from a late night Oakland Cemetery tour and was desperate for food. Pepperoni's kitchen was about ten minutes from closing but I was still 20 minutes away. Fortunately, they made the pizza and when I got there, the bartender was able to ring it up for me and I was still able to enjoy it hot and fresh. Added bonus? I got to enjoy an adult beverage while she was retrieving and ringing it up. There were lots of people there, playing pool and cards, and just enjoying the Saturday nightlife. I even ducked into the bathroom and it was pleasantly clean. All in all, a pretty solid experience for a late night bar. If one is going to a sports bar, then you're likely going for two things: atmosphere and food/alcohol. Pepperoni's fails in one and it's not the one you would expect. The food was actually the best thing about the place, and it was pretty ho-hum. I had a burger and fries and it was pretty decent - good flavor, fresh ready-made fries, everything at the right temperature, etc. But I think it cost me $9... I could've gotten the same thing but much better quality at Farm Burger or a host of other competitors. But what really stood out was the atmosphere. I went midweek for lunch and the place was deserted. Of the patrons who were there, the majority (including the servers) were probably well over 50. Nothing wrong with that but just not quite what I would've expected for a bar. Next, the server really didn't seem up to the task. She was incredulous that I asked her about potential substitutions to the fries, and at the end of the meal she complained that the silverware was too heavy for her. Lastly, the decor was pretty neglected, and that really stands out because we're talking about a bar. A perfect example is that there were pages of the food menu stapled to the wall in the men's restroom. Not a digital display or laminated pages stored behind a glass case... just good ol' fashioned staples on a good ol' fashioned cork board. Would say horrible service, but we had NO service!! A group of 8 co-workers and I went here for lunch where it was us and one other table in this desolate restaurant. We waited over 40 minutes for our food to arrive, even after asking several servers to check on the status. Each time they would vapidly walk away and we'd never hear back. Finally, half the group gave up and left in pursuit of another lunch option in the remaining 5 minutes of our one hour lunch. A couple of us stayed and, after asking to get it To-Go, our food arrived. We paid. AND we paid full price despite the poor service and the fact we had to take it to-go! Oh, but the worse part? The OWNER was there the entire time. He came out as we were leaving and gave us his business card to say the next lunch was on him. That's funny because I will NOT be returning here. Pizza is good enough. Everything else on the menu is not. Avoid the club, it is the most disappointing sandwich of my lifetime. read more

We ate here for the first time this past weekend. Because it was Sunday about 8pm, I guess the regaular crowd hadn't shown up yet. It was dead. The beer is a pretty good deal; I had a Sweetwater IPA 24oz-er for $6.75; she had a Bell's Two-Hearted for the same price. Only went here because Boyfriend is Michigan alum and this is the place to be on Saturday's to watch Michigan football. They convert the whole place into a Michigan den, pushing all of the tables together, complete with Michigan table cloths and other Michigan decorations. I think it's put on by the alumni group. There are multiple TVs and three big pull down projection screens where they show the game. It gets crowded and pretty rowdy (I had my beer turned over onto my lap), but it's a fun environment if you're a Michigan fan. There were $10 pitchers, which we took full advantage of, and a pretty extensive menu. From what I gathered, the original Pepperoni's Tavern is in Detroit and the menu has some interesting (to my Southern eyes) items. We ordered 10 wings (5 hot, 5 lemon pepper), a personal pepperoni pizza, and mozzarella sticks. Hell yes, football food, how I have missed thee. The hot wings had a major kick, but the flavor could have been better. The lemon pepper flavor was legit. The wings were served with celery and blue cheese, which was a little weak. The personal size pepperoni pizza was bigger than I thought it would be, having 6 or 8 miniature slices. I had high expectations for this pizza and they were not met. It's not that the pizza was bad, it just wasn't amazing like I thought it would be. The sauce tasted a bit... commercial (?). Hard to pinpoint exactly what I'm trying to say. Basically, it could have been better. Later in the night, after 4 pitchers, it was mozzarella sticks time. Best part of the night, besides the Michigan win over Notre Dame, of course. So, what warrants the two star rating, you ask? The service. Yeah, the place was packed, but our server NEVER came back. I had to ask another server for stuff, who finally tracked down our original server. I personally tipped him at the end of the night. Our girl just didn't seem to care. First off, if you're a Michigan fan, and you find yourself OTP on game day, you should come here to watch the game. We walked in about an hour before game time and were instantly greeted with 20+ other people wearing Michigan gear. It's a great spot to watch the game. We ordered beers for the start of the game and some spinach artichoke dip. The beer list isn't super extensive, but they have your basic bar beers. Both the Guinness and appetizer were good. For dinner, we ordered a large Italian meatlovers pizza. This pizza was fantastic! The large pizza gives you about 10-12 slices of pizza. We walked away with a healthy amount of leftovers too. I was really impressed with how the waiters and waitresses handled the huge crowds and lots of Michigan fans. They did a great job getting everybody their order and letting the fans watch the game.
