Me and my family and friends have supported this establishment since they opened in the year 2000. Always consistent, and love supporting the mom and pop businesses. However, they lost me this week. I ordered a $250 pick up order with Carlos who has been there for a long time. On one of the entrées, I asked to substitute the fries for a side salad. When I went to pick up the order, Carlos assured me it was in the bag but sure enough when I delivered it to my 90 year-old mother it was not there. When I called him, he said to me "that's what happens when you change the menu." They offered me the substitution with an up charge and I had no problem with that. That is clearly not the answer. that should've been given to a 26-year-old patron or one time customer for that matter! He's never been real friendly, but not rude either. But this cost him a lot of business this time. I'd left a $20 tip on the to go order. He did credit that back. That's not what I wanted. I wanted my mother's salad that she was craving. The time before this had a $200 order left a $30 tip and he was not going to help me out to the car with my things until he looked down at the tip. 10 years ago, they catered my parents 60th wedding anniversary vow renewal for 50 people. It's a shame but there's a lot of mom and pops around here that would appreciate our business. Onward and upward! After all, we vote with our feet. read more

When I arrived home, I called the restaurant back, told them of the mistake, and simply asked for a credit for ONLY the wrong item. Restaurant refused and claimed the mistake was my fault. Ate here on my birthday with my family to go, and loved the food. I got the Shrimp Alfredo pasta, and this is the first time I've gotten Alfredo pasta at a restaurant that wasn't overly fatty and salty, where you feel bloated after just a few bites. The Alfredo sauce was silky smooth, and full of flavor and taste, without overwhelming the sense. My mother got the shrimp scampi, and my father got the calzone. Both were also extremely tasty according to them. The calzone had SO much cheese in it, that was full of flavor. The service is always very friendly, even with to go orders. The inside of the restaurant is nice and cozy, and full of friendly decor all over. read more

We were looking for someplace new to try on a Friday night literally just driving by. Have driven by many times not realizing they were there. We were promptly greeted, allowed to sit wherever we wanted and were promptly attended to by the waitress. Nice friendly, family, casual atmosphere. Great choices of entrees, sides and salads and reasonably priced. We split both the large Greek salad and a veggie pizza. Neither of us are vegetarians, but what the heck, we need to eat healthier so we went with it. The salad was fresh and the dressing very good. Just the right size for two people to split. The pizza likewise had fresh ingredients and the crust . . . the key to all pizzas . . . was good. Light, crispy where it should be and hardy where it should be, as well. Service throughout the meal was timely, friendly and accommodating. Everyone was very nice and seemed to equally want to be sure everyone was being attended to. I would definitely return. read more

I stopped in for a midday lunch and it wasn't busy so I was able to choose my table. I was greeted right as I walked in and the waitress serving me was great. I had the white pizza with meatball topping. It was served hot, crisp and delicious. Loved the white cheese and generous topping of meatball. All for $5! You can't go wrong here. My one recommendation would be to improve sanitation and cleanliness. Definitely enjoyed the pizza, however. read more

We got 2 large pizzas and a large garden salad for takeout on a late-Thursday afternoon The pizza was very good: evenly cooked and the crust was tasty and ever-so-slightly crunchy -- thus, the 4th star. Order was ready on time, so pick-up was in/out. Garden salad was nothing special, as the onion appeared thrown in as an after thought. Food is very good the eggplant parmesan five star and the service is very good. (I went Saturday afternoon not super busy but not dead either. The fries were perfectly crisp outside and fluffy inside. My only criticism is they need to add a dash or three of Italian seasoning to their cold sub (hero) which was otherwise great. If you don't know what a good pizza takes like this place will do. Thin crust and minimal sauce without unique cheese equals nothing. Real disappointment. The guy who appears to be the owner pictured here doesn't greet customers and would not take my order at the counter because he was too busy(even though I was the only customer in dining room.at noon. That and two suburban "lunch ladies" housewivoutside should have been an early sign that this would not be good. You can't even smell the food in the restaurant! Oh, Santino's. You have forever ruined Papa Johns, Domino's and other "fast food" pizza places for me now. Before, I was blissfully unaware and would have been happy with a large Papa John's pizza, but now... now I must have the good stuff. I must have Santino's. Our go-to is a large New Yorker, sans olives, plus a slice of the cheese for our toddler. The price gave us pause at first ($23 for the large NY) but after that very first bite, you won't even care. The New Yorker is Santino's version of a Supreme pizza. It's got sausage, ham, pepperoni, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, tons of garlic... oh yeah. That's one thing that stands out about Santino's. If you don't like garlic, this isn't your place. Since the COVID-19 quarantine started, we have ordered from Santino's three times already. And that wasn't even since the beginning of the quarantine, I'd say we ordered 3x in a span of 3 weeks? Maybe 4? We have not even ventured to other items on their menu yet, because we love this pizza so damn much. We are afraid of disappointment. Well -- my husband did try the chicken piccata which he said knocked his former #1 chicken piccata out of its spot. So there's that. And forget ordering from other pizza places. Like I said... we're ruined forever. P.S. We have patronized other pizza places other than Papa John's and Domino's, obviously. But I wasn't joking that we're forever ruined. read more

I was hoping to find good pizza in the area and was highly disappointed after a recent trip here. Honestly Papa John's is much better than this and for the price definitely not worth it. Also I got Philly cheesesteaks the same day I ordered a pizza. The meat on the subs was chewy. I wasn't looking to compare it to Pat's or Geno's in Philly...just something decent and unfortunately it was not the least bit tasty. I thought I would give this place despite the low ratings as it's close by and in a high end shopping plaza, but after eating the food I will unfortunately not go back. read more

Walked into this place today to get a slice. One guy behind the counter on the phone and another lady talking with patrons at the counter I assume servicing them. The guy gets off the phone doesn't even acknowledge me waiting at the counter. A matter of fact no one acknowledges me. I wait and watch the guy get off the phone then cuts a pizza out of the remaining 2 slices and customize a slice. It looks like artichoke and spinach. No gloves and didn't wash his hands. This is not very good pizza. We ordered The New Yorker. The crust itself is thin and would be the start of a very good pizza, but unfortunately this is not a very good pizza and the crust is the only noteworthy component. There's little to no sauce smeared between the crust and endless toppings. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy some toppings, which is why we selected The New Yorker. However, dumping fistfuls of diced veggies and meats with a sprinkle of cheese and popping in the oven for 30 seconds does not make a very good pizza. The onions were raw, the bell peppers were raw, the mushrooms were raw. The components never had time to come together as it was just a mound of pre-chopped ingredients sitting upon a cooked dough. Giant slices of raw onions had to be picked out under the covers of sausage and ham. The toppings weren't even hot! The amount of "extra cheese" was laughable as limited to a dusting over the mound of toppings. Our pizza came with two garlic rolls, which was odd as there were three at our table and it would have been nice to munch on them while our pizza cooked. Any excitement soon dissipated as the rolls tasted like they were defrosted from the freezer in the AM and microwaved prior to dropping at our table. For a $20+ pizza, would not eat here again. Domino's thin crust supreme is way better and that's coming from Domino's! read more

A great family pizzeria. We were here for a Girl Scout event, which meant I was inside as my daughter was selling Girl Scout Cookies. I had never been here before, but soon realized I was in for a treat! I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak. I get mine without mushrooms (because I despise them) and it was just plain, old fashioned deliciousness! I sat and ate it in glory as my daughter popped in and out to "check" on me and take a french fry from time to time. I had ordered her a slice of cheese pizza too and hadn't realized all of the moms were getting pizza for the girls outside. I probably should have assumed that. No bother. Thin crust, New New York style and very good! Of course i ate it! It was awesome, but next time... I'd add sausage and onions. :) By the time my wife came in to get me, I was very full and had a new pizzeria to add to my list of favorites. Two minutes. I was two minutes away from slinking out of the office early to start my weekend, when an obnoxious coworker grabbed me to join an ongoing meeting. "It's an emergency and we need your help", she said. We all work with people who feel the need to waste others' time by calling ridiculous meetings at inopportune times, and this woman is the queen of the a-holes. I was extraordinarily hungry, and watching her pontificate over nothing wasn't putting food in my stomach. The only reason I couldn't leave is that my boss was in the room, and making fun of the woman while flaunting two middle fingers as I stormed out probably wouldn't have been a good move. Just prior to me coming dangerously close to choking out the blowhard chairperson, the meeting finally wrapped up, and thinking that I would pick something up on the way home, I immediately jumped on Yelp to find see if I could find a new pizza place to try. Santino's (formerly Alessio's) had good reviews and seemed to be the place to call. A large half sausage, half cheese awaited my rumbling stomach. I grabbed the pizza, got into my car and immediately dove in for the first bite. Sadly, Yelp completely missed the boat on this one. At the hunger level I was experiencing, I figured that I could eat the box the pizza came in and be satisfied, so I was surprised when I found the food so-so. The crust was good, but the sauce, sausage, and cheese were a little flavorless for my taste. The reason for 3 stars?...I'm not sure what kind of chemical reaction occurs to pizza when it's refrigerated overnight, but Santino's was great the next morning. It was like I was eating something completely different from the day before. I rarely give restaurants a second shot, but these guys deserve one. On an aside, I not only ate while driving, but ate pizza of all things, managed to take a picture, AND post it to Yelp. The Georgia State Police will eventually find my car wrapped around a tree when I try to do the same thing with a bowl of chili. Rule #1 when grocery shopping, never go when you're hungry. Since my SO and I didn't want to do our shopping while hungry, we stopped by this place for a quick bite. And what was supposed to be a quick bite turned into a taking-our-time-full-fledged meal. The place was packed, but we were seated promptly in the back in a comfy, but private booth. We were seated for only a minute when our server got our drink order. She was very knowledgeable about the beer on tap and recommended that my SO try the Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat beer. She joked that it tasted like Fruity Pebbles, and she wasn't kidding! It was so good I ordered one. Then two. We placed an order for some garlic knots and they arrived quickly. They aren't really knots, more like rolls. Once my SO bit into it and proclaimed OMG, I knew it must be good. We're big fans of garlic rolls with extra garlic and extra butter, so this hit the spot. If it were socially acceptable to lick the bowl clean, my SO would have. He ordered a custom pizza with feta cheese, pineapple, bacon and pepperoni (don't ask me why) and I ordered the chicken stromboli (chicken, feta cheese, onions, olives and tomatoes). I never had a stromboli before, but I feel like it's the cousin to the calzone. Despite the large crowd, our food arrived quickly. By the time it reached us, we were a few bottles deep and feeling pretty good. I took one bite of my stromboli and was unable to contain my OMG moan of pleasure. MMM. Bursting with flavor and melted cheese, I basically died and went to heaven. There was no more talking at our table as we stuffed our faces. Not only was the food amazing, but service was outstanding. Our server, Lindsey, was ON THE BALL. She had a large section that night, full of large parties and lotsa kids, but she brought her A game. Drinks were always refilled, empty beers and plates promptly cleared, and she always made sure we had everything we needed. She always found a second or two to make a joke or engage in conversation. For the two of us, the bill was around $52 and some change for 4 beers, two sodas, garlic knots, my stromboli and my SO's pizza. Kinda steep, but well worth it considering the great service. Staff - super friendly and helpful. My sweet tea was never empty and we were all offered to go cups when we left. Atmosphere - it's in a strip mall...what do you do with that? Not bad, but not great, but who cares if the food is good! Food - aaaaammmmmaaaaazing! I was in the mood for a basic cheesy pizza. Nothing fancy, but it's hard to pull off an amazing cheese pizza. This place sure did! The cheeses were perfectly blended and flavorful (I ordered a side of marinara to dip my crust in and wasn't even charged!), but the kicker for me was the crust. This is a late review and I apologize. The pictures were missing on an old SD card for months and I finally recovered them this week. However better late than never right? :) I visited Atlanta in last January (2009) and while there had a chance to eat dinner one evening at Alessio's. The first thing I noticed when I entered Alessio's was the atmosphere. There was a local fire station company having a meal and several family's seated throughout the dining room. Everyone was cheerful including the staff who was bantering back and forth with the firemen. You don't find this in a corporate chain restaurant. We settled into our booth and ordered a large half peperoni / have cheese pizza. The pie was a typical New York style Neapolitan pizza. Very large, and relatively thin allowing you to easily fold your slices. The dough was very fresh and the sauce & toppings were evening proportioned. I really liked the cheese blend on the pizza as well. There were at least 3 cheeses in it. Once again I can't state enough how friendly and attentive the staff was. Alessio's is not just a pizzeria, it's a full service Italian restaurant and everything from soups, salads, pastas, chicken, veal, etc... Next time I'm in the Atlanta area I intend to visit again. read more

Pizza is fresh and delicious. Salad was fresh and on point. They charge extra if you request more than one salad dressing, which is fine. But a warning of the up- charge would've been nice. I ordered calamari and it had a slight fishy taste. I was hungry so I ate it anyway. But I won't be ordering calamari again. Overall pizza was the main event and it didn't disappoint. Listen the pizza is good... but My favorite part about Santino's is the convenience cause it's very close to my house. My least favorite part in the inconvenience that It doesn't deliver!!
