The only reason I am allowing the third star here, is because my husband loved his Thai Curry chicken with relish and Chai Infused Rice. My slow cooked pork belly with carrot purée and beans wasn't quite what I expected, and being of Chinese origin, I am a bit of a kindred soul to a slow cooked pork belly.
The beer battered chips for $7 were quite nice. If not for my Entertainment book voucher we probably wouldn't have gone there.
Now back to my pork belly. It was more like a 300g cut at a butcher boiled and put on top of what didn't really taste like carrot purée... the beans were ok. My mistake was associating the slow cooked pork belly with crispy skin. There was skin, but if you see my picture of what I left on the plate it was boiled. It took some grunt cutting through the massive slab of pork belly which in my opinion wasn't slow cooked at all. People who know me, know that I rarely leave meat on a plate. I left half of my meat there. The fat wasn't rendered, the pork was a bit tough... not real happy with it.
For the price and location, this place has great potential but it's just not there yet. read more
