I had driven over the bridge and into a pocket of Brisbane, I'll freely admit, I had never ventured before. Apples came to my attention, as most things do these days, via The Internet (Instagram I think) and it had been on my "to try" list since. So, try I did. On a windy and wintery Wednesday morning I ventured to Apples and for a moment thought I had taken a wrong turn as there was no easily visible sign from the street. Nestled smack bang in a row of old school shops including a convenience store and nail spa and across the road from a lawn bowls club, Apples on Ainsworth is the last thing you'd expect to find. You know as soon as you see the knitted blankets over the mismatched outside furniture you're about to walk into a gem of a cafe. A cafe that feels like you're visiting your grandmother. It is a vintage visual feast and I'm distracted, forgetting that I'm here for lunch. There's a standard menu including avocado on sourdough with haloumi but on this occassion I take a punt on the eggplant risotto cake from the cabinet at the counter (also housing sweets and sandwiches) with a side of salad. PS. This salad was wicked. Beetroot, nuts, kale and a poached egg. I'm not sure what they put in it but it was easily competing to be the hero food on that plate party. Their coffee is Byron Beans and I could drink about three more flat whites than I do. You can also purchase some of the vintage and retro knick-knacks on display and if you bring your own container or jar you can also purchase fresh honey. Ainslie is a little bit out of the way for my north-side self but, in my opinion, well worth the trek!

Came here today at around 10 am for brunch. Almost didn't go in as it didn't look too friendly! But…read morebased on positive reviews on Yelp, I pushed on. Took me a while to focus on the deco and find the menus hiding amidst piles of newspaper on the side by the wall. Fairly small place inside so it was a cosy fit. They have extra tables outside as well. Antique furniture and little knick knacks gave this place a really charming and interesting personality. The staff were an interesting bunch and seemed friendly. I ordered the sunny side up (two eggs, spinach, one slice of sourdough toast and aioli) with a side of bacon. It was pretty yummy, though I personally found the yolks slightly over cooked and I'm a little confused as to why there weren't two slices of toast, but maybe that's just me being a fatty but I always thought two was standard the bacon was super delicious though! Thick, soft and not too salty. At $9.90 (plus $4 for bacon), it's really good value for money. Props to the dude who cleaned up our plates. He was so polite and smiled genuinely

I get food or coffee from here almost every weekend and they unlike other places consistently put out awesome coffee and great food. I don't normally review unless its because the place is bad but these guys are well over due for a 5 star rating from me. On the very very odd occasion i have been disappointed but i have the cafe to replace or fix anything i wasn't happy with. All i can say is if you love your coffee as much as i do these guys are worth stopping past for. Also, they have outdoor or in doors which i really love having a choice of. Thanks again for putting out top coffee and amazing food!

I've been visiting for over a year now and have enjoyed it every time, their friendly service and delicious food making it impossible to not return. The menu is quite similar to most modern cafes, offering a range of sandwiches/burgers/wraps, as well as pizzas, pastas and salads. I recommend the Smoked Salmon pizza, an alternate take on the gourmet pizza, or the fried calamari, some of the freshest I have tasted in Brisbane. Prices range from $15-$25 for a main meal. The coffee has always been good. As experienced coffee drinkers understand, it's always handy knowing where you can find a good coffee. The baristas at Caffe Primavera certainly make a great coffee, using Merlo as their supplier. Always a good temperature, and never burnt; exactly what you want out of a coffee.

It's pretty close to a Coles for shopping afterwards and a fruit shop as well. The decor is quite chilled and inside the cafe it's riddled with heaps of magazines and anime comics. You can even buy a phone case while you wait! Didn't expect it at all but it's pretty cool! There's plenty of parking especially around the 9am mark! The iced latte really hits the spot and it's nice and filling. I've had it once before at another cafe and it felt really runny. So this one really hits the spot. Will definitely be back to try everything else soon.

This is like my study hiding place and simply relaxing for sometimes, just sometimes. Free internet and good seating arrangements, it's very convenient and comfortable for me. I always order these three drinks: caramel latte, Vietnamese coffee (with condensed milk) & lychee black tea. The last time I ordered something else, I feel like I just committed a crime to the list of my life decisions. I am not much of coffee drinker, as you can see most of my coffee are flavored (call me a fake coffee drink/ wink wink). So all you expresso or double shots survivors, I'm sorry to announce that you gotta try it to judge the coffee yourself. There are not so much food on the menu, just some packed sandwiches which you can ask them to toast for you if you want. The cakes are moderate. I tried a few. Opera cake still tops it all. Beware: if you need a quiet place for night coffee. NO. Don't come. It opens late till 11pm but they are packed at nighttime with mostly young target markets.
