We were greeted by a friendly lady and sat down inside a nicely decorated room full of red! Around 6pm on a Sunday, it wasn't very busy so we got a table for four right away (about 30 mins later, the restaurant filled up).
We were planning on having the mini hot pot but were told that's only available after 8:30pm OK then, moved on... We decided to then get three mains to share and individual rice bowls.
Firstly, the rice bowls were pretty tiny for $2. I can accept the size if it didn't cost that much because I know for a fact, there are tons of restaurants in the south side that serve bigger bowls of rice.
Moving on to the mains... So we ordered;
- three cups chicken (chilli level - medium; too many bones; loved the addition of creamy whole garlic cloves; oily but yum overall);
- chitterlings and eggplant (yum; oily; eggplant was well cooked; insufficient chitterlings compared to onions and eggplant and other things in there); and
- sweet and sour pork (hero of the night!!).
We also had some iced tea, I think they were homemade. They were quite cloudy and frothy. I had lemon kumquat but it didn't actually taste like lemon kumquat. Just very slight.
Overall, a pleasant experience. The price isn't too bad. Service was good. read more
