This is solely a review based on how long the food took and the dismissive nature of the wait. I placed an order at 6:45. online that should have been at 7:17. I showed up at 7:30 giving them extra time and did not receive my order until 8:13 pm. When I arrived they seemed flustered and unorganized. I gave them 10 minutes before asking how much longer the order would take, because I understand that sometimes you run behind. This wait went far beyond running behind, and made me feel like I was going crazy because they kept telling me "it's done" or that it was "just another few minutes". I tried to explain to them that I had a young child with me in the car and couldn't wait any longer, and they kept walking away to avoid confrontation. I'm upset with how long it took, with the lack of explanation, and that there was no attempt to apologize or make it right whatsoever. I really wanted to make this our new go to Indian place and I don't see how that's possible if this is what the service is always like. read more

Recently I rented a cabin for the weekend and invited a group of friends down on a Friday night. Because I didn't have time after work to prepare food for everyone I ordered food to go for 12 people. They were extremely helpful in deciding which dishes to purchase and everything went off without a hitch. Food was wonderful and we have a little extra Naan to make egg sandwiches with in the morning. The only criticism I would have is that meeting in could be a little better with a little upgrade in Decore. I think restaurants are part service, part food and part atmosphere. this restaurant has the service and the wonderful food - just need to do a little better with the atmosphere read more

Placed an order via Grubhub. The food was taking a very long time so I called them. They said the food was ready and the driver was there. Only half of that was true. This spot has amazing staff members! They treat you like family! I would rank this a average just because of the dosas but everything else's is good! The dosas are always overcooked and burnt! The chicken and other meats are outstanding! The vegetable dishes are outstanding! They have a great selection of seasons! Hot difficulty! Place has changed names and owners I think and it's good! Line for the buffet is the biggest I've seen at a local Indian place in years. Authentic, delicious, cheap, and it's got me wanting more. Ordered to go two weeks ago (chicken biryani) and been craving the buffet ever since. Biggest complaint is that the buffet is small for the amount of people here. I used to be a huge fan of the Indian restaurant down 38 by LA Fitness but I hate to say it, they have fallen in my eyes. Excellent place ! I was visiting Mt Laurel on business and ordered some takeout from 'Pepper House'. I've had Indian food across 3 continents and including hundreds of places in India, but the naan here has to be among the very best i've had ! I'd visit the restaurant only for its naan bread if i could ! Soft, chewy and amazing taste ! The entree curries and appetizers are good too. Between me and my partner we had paneer butter masala, chilli paneer and Andhra chicken curry - all were excellent albeit i do wish the quantity of appetizer was larger. The lunch buffet at this place is pretty good BUT it doesn't have all the dishes I like. If you are going to do the buffet be aware that they are going to have a mix of stuff and not their full menu. Of the standard menu items I love their Tiki Masala and Butter Chicken. If you are new to Indian cuisine those are both entry level dishes you will enjoy without consequences. read more

Visited Pepper House with family and friends for a weekend lunch. It was a buffet with both South Indian and North Indian dishes. Very Very Tasty Food! WHAT WE LIKED Goat Biryani, Chicken Biryani, Natu Kodi Chicken Curry (country chicken), Prawn Masala, Gongura Mutton, Bhendi Fry (Okra); Bhaigan Barta, Gulab Jamun. Biryanis are at the right spice levels and meat was very tender and juicy. Country chicken curry is a must try and so are Gongura Mutton and Bhendi Fry. read more

I was going to order from my typical place, but saw there was a change in ownership and some pretty bad, recent reviews. Because I prefer SOUTH Indian and curry leaves, cinnamon and all that, I tried Pepper House. Honestly, a great South Indian place. We love Pepper House! We love Indian food but Pepper house is our favorite restaurant in South Jersey. The food is always great but its really the warm friendly nature of the staff that makes it seem like home that brings us back each time. The manager Fazal is exceptional and I highly recommend anyone considering catering or using the banquet facility to directly reach out to him. Fazal went above and beyond in helping us organize a most memorable anniversary party for grandparents. He took it upon himself to make sure the party planners had set everything up to our expectation so we didn't have to be occupied. Our baker accidently dropped off the wrong cake at closing and Fazal went out of his way to pick up a comparable cake to save the moment. This is something we shall never forget! From what we've seen and heard he and the staff have a unique ability to make our guests feel like family and that's why we will always be customers at pepper house and consider the banquet for our special occasions! read more
