There were a handful of restaurants that were open but none appealed to us. Most seemed greasier than what we were in the mood for. Checked out their coop (grocery) but their cafe was closed. So bought some prepared foods at the coop and found Connie's across the street close to a cute little park. They are situated on a corner in a yellow painted Victorian close to a bridge. They have a few tables for indoor dining. I opted mine to go. Connie's is simple and wholesome basics done well. ++. Food is breakfast, lunch and baked treats. I tried their roast beef sandwich on their freshly baked wheat bread and some chips. Drink wise they have a few sodas and ice tea. +++ price is very reasonable. $8.88 for my sandwich and chips and rest of $10 into their tip jar. +++. Service was friendly and prompt. My sammie was made in 10 minutes while they had 2 other customers' orders. 2 ladies worked fast and my sammie was exactly as ordered :-) ++. Parking is street and free. They seem to have many locals. But this is a small town that likely rely on tourists so check them out if you fancy wholesome breakfast options and sandwiches!

We drive over an hour--each way--on a busy Saturday morning just to get our hands on Tony's fresh donuts, bagels, and that perfect Friday night pizza. And it's worth every mile. Tony is one helluva chef. His baking skills? Impeccable. Whether it's a pastry or a pizza, everything is made fresh, with love, and you can taste it. His pizza is NEVER soggy, always hot, perfectly cooked, and topped with the freshest cheese. And the sauce... oh man, the sauce. I go in for lunch and order plain boneless wings just so I can dip them in Tony's red sauce instead of the usual dressings. That sauce is so good, I've been known to eat the leftovers with a spoon. It's rich and flavorful but never leaves you with that heavy, acidic regret some sauces do. It's just right. Now let's talk seafood. Yes, seafood. In Vermont. And it's some of the best I've ever had. Tony brings it in fresh, and when he's out, he's out--and I love that. It shows integrity. No "carryover specials," no shortcuts. Just honest, high-quality food made fresh and served with pride. The whole place is a gem. Anthony and Nancy are the kind of owners who care deeply about what they're serving and who they're serving it to. Donna's always there with a smile, helping out and keeping things moving. It feels like family when you walk through the door. If anyone says they're not awesome, I'd bet money it's a jealous competitor trying to figure out how to get a piece of the Tirozzis magic. Because let's be real--there's no faking what they do.

This place was on our way to our first destination this morning and we said screw it, let's give a try, Ooof!! we would've have a better tasty breakfast at McDonald's for half the cost. Yep!! This place is actually really pricey for the quality of food you get here. I ordered the egg, cheese sandwich on a biscuit (because we always like to try the local restaraunt's biscuits) and I added their maple sausage. I wanted to get an almond croissant as well until I saw a fly in the pastry cabinet just have his way on all the pastries. NOPE!! This was probably one of the worse breakfast sandwiches I have ever had to date. The biscuit itself was hard as a rock, dry and crumbled upon touch. It was lousy as heck. The maple sausage was a thick patty, but small, almost like a quarter size round compared to the size of the biscuit. So for what sandwich and a cup of coffee was around $23. Heck no! Was that even worth it with how bad inflation is these days Not sure how they have such high ratings, but just be warned. You're welcome!

They have a lot of cheese from Quebec, France and the Netherlands. In fact they have a lot from all over Europe as well. You can ask for a sample before you buy the cheese. With the cost of some of these cheeses, that only makes sense. We picked up some Quebec cheese this trip but on past trips we bought Dutch cheese. The bakery side has good food as well. We have tried their breads and croissants and would definitely buy them again. There is a case full of pies, tartes, and cakes for sale and we are tempted to bring one home. They always have someone working who is fluent in English if your French is not good.
