Just came across when looking for a nice lunch to eat and what a great place! Great music and greater people. You all in and it feels like a family friendly place and it is. The staff was very friendly and attentive helping me out on what is popular, with such great prices I ended up getting two of their food items. They have great selection on the bakery side but also on other fresh produce. The quality of the items were amazing too, super fresh ingredients and sauces. I usually don't write bad reviews but I am angry. I just got home from Pepe's and my visit wasn't the best. People who came after me, got their food first but I was patient, didn't say anything. I got my food, smiled and said thank you. I got home and my order - chorizo burrito, carne asada taco for my husband...Happy Valentines. I looked in the bag and my chicken taco was invisible, because I didn't get it. Happy Valentine's to me - no chicken taco. I tried calling them and they don't answer their phone, plus their voicemail is not setup. This is why I am angry! read more

My friend and myself live in the next county over. We arrived before 6am. Only took 50 mins without traffic.We loved that for us. We were here on a mission for some out of state and ourselves of coarse. This lady was down here a few weeks back and stumbled on the place. It was so go. She had to have more. We were hoping she wasn't wrong about how good the tamales are. We found the staff to be awesome. They worked with us and got our order together fairly quick. While we waited the other guest were so nice to us So we chatted up a few ladies and had a great time waiting. We made it back home and couldn't wait to taste the tamales and send out the lady from out of state hers. She will be enjoying them tomorrow. The chicken tamales were so delicious. Lots of chicken inside and flavor to die for. . The pork was super scrumptious. Shared with my adult son. He loved them. He texted all kinds of people am sent them links to there locations. Why have a phone number that you never answer? They never have what is advertised, I've went 4 times to get tamales at different days different hours and they are always sold out!! I drive far , I've called many many times and they never answer! I've been to this place around 20 times hoping that it would be a better experience each time but it's not!! They did seem to change the front person her attitude is better than the last one, but it does change the fact that the bread is to expensive, the food is outrageously expensive, they've hidden the bread away so we can't choose what we want. I've ordered masa and yes the masa is the best in the IE it is but it's expensive too! Please get organized!! Drove into the parking lot off Madison Ave to finish a phone call. My mom Spotted Mexican bread panaderia displayed on store front window, and asked me to go inside and order some bread. Walked inside and noticed they also offer Mexican hot food items. I ordered tamales and an item seldom offered in Mexican eateries, a chicharron taco. Also a grilled chicken taco and side of beans. When my mom, who is a food critic, not easily pleased, gave a huge gesture of approval, that's saying something! She also gave thumbs up to the texture and flavor of the beans, mentioning the chicharron beats the world famous East LA Lupe's chicharron menu items! Yum! So I remember the first time I tried Pan Dulce. My coworker brought a brown, pastry box to work and I thought, "Donuts?!" And when I opened the box, it was the first time I smelled the heavenly aroma of Pan Dulce. It's good enough to convert this donut-lover. What I love about the sweet bread and cookies here is that they're not too sweet, they're fresh, and they're HUGE. Most of the time, I will cut the breads or cookies into halves so that I can try multiple ones without filling myself on too many carbs. Love this place. I was very disappointed in the Rosca bread. I get it every year for my Dad's birthday and thought I would try it from Pepe's Panaderia since it's a bakery. I've been coming here for 25 plus years, ordered dozens of tamales, burritos, pan dulce, and even cakes. I never really had an issue, the lady at the counter Leticia is kinda rude sometimes, but I deal with it. But, today she was beyond rude and makes me not want to come back here again. She made me feel like a thief and all I was asking for was a calendar for my dad who's older and can't come out himself and get one due to this covid. To top it off I had just paid $50 for all the food I ordered. Having attitude because you're tired or stressed out is one thing that I can understand, but when you call me out for something as petty as this, I can't let that slide. The pupusas were empty. I order a couple of them and the bean and cheese one was all masa. The pork one was on the chewy side I'm sorry but I may not be going back for a bit just because it was very disappointing. My burritos were small and the meat was very minimal and mostly just beans. The beans even were a little on the dry side... The salsa was very good. I use to come here all the time the burritos were huge and full of flavor and meat.. the salsa was incredible and the best I had.. it was juicy and I would buy so many...
