We arrived a little after 1:00 p.m. on a Sunday, and the restaurant was fairly empty with only a handful of tables occupied. We were seated immediately, and our waitress was friendly throughout the meal. Each couple ordered pizzas along with appetizers and drinks. We ordered the Italian salad but were accidentally brought the Green Goddess instead. It was a harmless mistake, and since we had enjoyed that salad during our previous visit, we happily kept it. Our friends received their pizzas, and we assumed ours would follow shortly. Thirty minutes passed, and by then our friends were nearly finished eating. Meanwhile, we noticed several tables that had arrived after us receiving their food before we did. We asked our waitress to check on our order. She went back to the kitchen and returned, explaining that our pizza had apparently been forgotten and was only then being made. She assured us it would take no more than 10 minutes. Fifteen more minutes passed, and our pizza still hadn't arrived. Since we had a clear view of the kitchen, it didn't appear there was any urgency to get our order out. At that point, after waiting nearly an hour since placing our order, we had to cancel it because we had other plans and couldn't stay any longer. Our waitress apologized and removed the pizza from our bill, but that was the only resolution offered. While we appreciated her kindness, we left the restaurant disappointed and still hungry. Mistakes happen, and forgetting an order is understandable from time to time. What was most disappointing was how the situation was handled. After waiting an hour for a forgotten order, we had hoped for a more meaningful effort to make things right beyond simply removing the item we never received. It's unfortunate because we genuinely loved this restaurant after our first visit and were excited to introduce it to our friends. Thankfully, our friends enjoyed their meals, but this experience left us hesitant to return. Kevin, who I believe is the manager, told me it wasn't available. I figured that was the end of it, but instead of leaving it there, he went above and beyond. He worked with what they had in the kitchen and made something as close as possible and it was honestly amazing. That one act meant so much to us. It wasn't something he had to do, especially on one of the busiest days of the year, but he took the time to make Father's Day feel special. You can tell he genuinely cares about his guests and wants them to have a great experience. On top of that, the service from everyone was wonderful. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from start to finish. But Kevin's kindness and willingness to go the extra mile is something we won't forget. Two in our party of 6 ordered this, one hot, one cold. Basil pesto, done right, is a fave of mine, and this one was very fresh and flavorful. Loved the roll, requested it be toasted and add a slather of mayo as well. The shredded chicken filling turned out juicy, not dry. The two of us were very impressed. The others had their own ideas. A Philly cheese steak, an Italian classic, a Beef and mushroom, a Chicken Parmesan. Minor grumbling over the two beef sandwiches, the Philly did not have enough cheese (I agreed), the Beef & Mushroom was a bit short on mushrooms. I tasted most of them and as for the Chicken Parm, I simply did not care for the marinara. Bottom line, I definitely will return for anything with pesto. Prices are very reasonable. We each chose the 8" size (medium). They were quite filling, with most of our party bringing one half home. The fries were amazing, a big hit as well. Both kinds, regular shoestring style and thicker beer battered with some skin, were seasoned nicely and deliciously fresh. If I had to choose, the beer batter style was the better. Carbonated drinks are serve-yourself, so yes, refills. There are a respectable number of tables and booths for seating inside, but none outside. After all these years, glad I tried them. We shall return!
