This is a review of the incredible staff at this restaurant, who went above and beyond to help someone stranded after foolishly parking in a lot with active towing. And yes... that someone was me. I was getting a haircut at the salon in the same building as Pepe's and parked in what I thought was regular off-street parking. I didn't see any signs indicating it was private or that towing was enforced. After my appointment, feeling great about my new cut, I walked back to where I had parked... and my car was gone. Cue panic. I immediately thought it had been stolen. After some frantic moments, I learned it had been towed -- and they required cash to release it. Did I have that much cash? No. Did I even have my debit card to withdraw it? Also no. In desperation, I went into the restaurant. A gentleman behind the bar immediately tried to help me figure out how to gather the money. Then the owner appeared like an absolute hero. She called the towing company for me, spoke directly with the owner, arranged for me to pay the fee via Venmo, and then personally drove me to the towing yard. She even let me wait in her car until the attendant arrived. Anyone who does that much for a total stranger deserves every good thing in the world. I truly cannot say enough positive things about the people who work here. They turned a terrible, stressful situation into something manageable -- and I will never forget that kindness. We stopped recently for dinner, it was a little too hot for outside seating. The dining room was empty so we opted to sit in the bar area. We ordered drinks and appetizers, my husband got the meatballs with ricotta and I got the eggplant parm stack. He enjoyed his meatballs and my eggplant was excellent, but it was so much I really didn't have room for dinner! For dinner my husband got the linguine with clams and I got the fungi pizza (mushrooms). My pizza was very good and my husband said his linguine was good, but he didn't like that the clams were so small. I think I enjoyed it more than my husband, but I would definitely go back again. read more

Nice menu! Spag & Meatballs.....my ultimate go to. And Yummy for sure!! Very spacious dining area and bar. Plenty of seats for larger parties. And shout out to my server Kim. She was the only one working the whole dining room and didn't miss a beat!!! Go on Wednesdays as they have $10 Spag & Meatballs and $10 Chicken Parm dinners. I have never eaten for so cheap. I really wanted to like this place, but honestly, it was a huge letdown. The ambiance was trying too hard to be "authentic," with those checkered tablecloths that felt sticky. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara, and it was just...sad. The pasta was overcooked, the sauce was watery, and there was barely any pancetta. It tasted like they forgot the egg yolks entirely! And don't even get me started on the service. Our waiter seemed like he'd rather be anywhere else, and it took forever to get his attention for anything. My fiancé and I decided to have lunch @ Pepe's for the first time on Saturday afternoon while we were in the Shrewsbury St neighborhood. Finding parking was very easy and convenient. The ambiance inside the restaurant was inviting but due to the beautiful weather we ended up dining outside instead. A very nice gentleman named Giuseppe took great care of us from the moment we walked in. After he seated us we ordered a Caesar salad, the Chicken Alfredo and the Ravioli Pomodoro. For drinks we had an espresso martini and a Peroni. Everything delicious. Giuseppe made sure to check on us throughout our dining experience, which is always appreciated. We couldn't help but notice the table next to us ordered a couple pies. They looked and smelled great. We'll definitely be back soon to try the pizza. read more

Way over priced. Got two pizzas and an order of chicken tenders. The bill was over $50. If the food was good, I'd give it three stars. For this price, I would expect phenomenal food. It was neither phenomenal nor even that good. The chicken tenders were Sysco special frozen tenders, big letdown. Both pizzas were called "large," but anywhere else they would be considered medium. Again, if they were good, I'd overlook this. But they were not good. The pepperoni pizza was ok. The sauce is about as good as Papa Gino's, so a bit better than Domino's, but for brick oven pizza, it was really under done. The Margherita pizza, whoo-boy! I've never included pictures in a review before, but this needed to be shared! It's got some sauce on it... maybe a bit of fresh mozzarella and a few leaves of basil. For $18. If you want to support a local business and don't mind paying premium prices for subpar food,it is definitely serviceable pizza. Just do not order the Margherita! read more

Have loved their pizza in the past but ordered a large cheese pizza an hour before they closed and they said that I had to come immediately because their kitchen closed in 30min. Picked it up 15min later. When I got home and opened up the pizza it was the size of a personal pizza and that's being generous. Walked in on a Friday night and was told we'd have a table in 10 minutes in the bar area and we could grab a drink at the bar. Walked up and was greeted by a waitress who told us they were supposed to be closed. We told her we had a table coming in 10 mins and wanted a drink. She did a loud "pffft" yeah right. So didn't stay for a drink or food! Not sure how you can be told you'll have a table by one person and be so rudely told no but another. Unfortunate experience as their pizza is awesome. read more

We ordered a margherita pizza, Italian wings, and stuffed peppers. The pizza was decent. They did a thing that I find a lot of places do, where the pizza's crust isn't crispy enough. Like, 3 more minutes in the oven please!!! The wings were pretty good and I appreciate the blend. I suppose I was hoping for some "Italian seasoning" that didn't literally taste like Italian seasoning. That said, that's maybe just some unrealistic expectation I had. The wings were good. The stuffed peppers were fantastic though. They actually serve them in a plate of 5. When I placed the order, they only had 3 and they called me to ask if I wanted a refund or something else. The restaurant we originally planned on going to had an hour wait. We just happened to find a parking space in front of Pepe's. The smells coming from the restaurant were incredible. We took a chance and we more than pleased. The food was great. Loved the mussels. Through my own carelessness reaching for something, I spilled my red wine all over the table and myself. Immediately, at least three staff members helped me and cleaned up my table. The owner also came over to see if I needed anything. All I have to say is perfect service and food. This place is not great, but not bad either. As for quick pizza in Worcester, it's pretty good. When we went in we were sat at a table which appeared to be made out of an old gym floor (?) next to a window. The table and the window/windowsill were extremely dirty, with dead flies scattered on the windowsill. The food itself was perfectly fine - good, but not good enough to box up and take home after you didn't finish, ya know? The pizza I tasted great, I may come back to get it again (but probably take-out in the future) Overall, this place only loses one star due to the dirty table we were sat at (in fairness, the rest seemed perfectly clean) and the good, but not great, food they served. read more

My daughter and her husband chose Pepe's Italian Restaurant for the reception after their son's baptism. The people were so nice. The restaurant was so clean and the food was so delicious. The staff was so attentive and helpful. I cannot compliment the staff enough. The food was excellent. The staff were amazing and everyone had a wonderful time. I totally would highly recommend Pepe"s Italian Restaurant for a family function or for a wonderful dinner. The restaurant is so family oriented and the atmosphere felt like home! Ordered the veggie pizza and chicken cesar salad. Pizza was very good but the salad was just lettuce and chicken, no croutons and very little parmesean cheese on there. Also, they changed the total charge by adding on $2 for "special requests".....I only asked for an extra thing of salad dressing. It's just courteous to call and say "Hey, we need to charge you for this." Even still, for $2 for a little container of dressing is a little steep, considering a bottle of dressing from the supermarket is $3 and some change. read more

Every time we come from Florida, to visit our son at WPI, this is his "go to." The pizza is phenomenal. We have tried 2 or 3 different over the years, all better than the last. This place was a disappointment not because of the food, because of the staff. I have eaten here before and it has always been empty. When we walked in we were greeted with children playing at the entry way. Not one other person was in the restaurant besides staff and their kids. I saw this deal online that read "Tuesday - 10 cent chicken tenders at the bar, 16" cheese pizza and a pitcher of beer for $12.99" so that is why we went to this restaurant in the first place. The bartender said "the bud light pitcher?" when I asked and she then interrupted me and said "yea we don't do that deal anymore". We ordered two beers (that were warm and one had a fruit fly in it) and decided to look on the menu for something else. She then returned by saying they will honor the 10 cent wings only. We ordered 20 wings to start. The plain wings with BBQ on the side and the buffalo wings were both delicious. The bartender sat on her phone at the end of the bar for most of the evening. When my date asked if they could turn on a channel she immediately said "We don't have that channel" which was comical because the TV was actually on the channel we asked for. When my date explained this she reluctantly got off her seat and handed us the remote. There was no music on and it was a terribly awkward vibe. We put in a sausage mozzarella pizza which was delicious. However, we were not offered napkins, waters, crushed red pepper, or even asked how it was. When we asked for water it was as if we were bothering her to get up to do so. Eventually two more people came into the restaurant and looked at our wings, and I told them they were great and only 10 cents and the bartender looked at me as if I killed her first born child. We both barely finished one slice of pizza it was SO AWKWARD. I was apologizing to her at the end of my night for something THEY ADVERTISE! RIDICULOUS! all in all this place is sad. The bartender was clearly the owner/wife of the owner and clearly is in the WRONG industry. I will never again eat at PePe's because of her and the horrible atmosppher even though my food was great. read more
