I made an appointment online for 8am and even received confirmation (see photo). When I showed up to my appointment the lady at service desk told me my appointment was for 12 noon and showed me the appointment on her computer. She was nice and respectful so I showed her my confirmation on my phone and just asked informed her that I wasn't arguing with her I was just showing her. She was nice all the time but my dissatisfaction is with Pep Boys appointment system, they need to fix this issue immediately or they will continue to loose customers. read more

Had to buy my Michelin tires here since Costco was going to take forever and I needed them ASAP. It was a bit rough at first though, as the online system was actually misleading, and did not actually order the tires for me, despite the online system letting me make an appointment. I went to the shop at the appointment time only to find out the order for the tires was not placed for delivery, and that it actually would have been better for me to call in about the order. The lady that was servicing at first was seemed to think I didn't understand the way it worked, when really I was just moreso annoyed and didn't like that the online system was misleading. Anyway, once I was able to order the tires in person, it took a day for them to get delivered, and I took it to the shop to get changed. It took two hours for that, nothing too crazy. The manager was nice with me, However, since the new tire change, that the tire pressure monitoring system was not showing the PSI. Called back the shop today, and they offered to test the sensors when I can come in to. Overall, service seems somewhat decent at this location (the lady I dealt with initially seemed a bit hasty in my interaction), but Pep Boys online system created unnecessary time wasted. Horrific experience. I had purchased a road hazard warranty for peace of mind. After encountering a road hazard, there were two severe gashes in my tires exposing the sidewall. After taking my vehicle in, I waited for 2 hours after being told it would only be an hour. They never even called me. I waited across the street for 2 hours and after radio silence, I went in only for them to tell me they wouldn't do a thing. I had to go in unprompted without any notification waiting an additional an hour only to hear that they didn't do a thing. Horrible experience. Horrible service. STAY AWAY! It's so close to closing, but they're squeezing me in anyway, because of the nature of the problem, and my being stuck, and needing to drive back to riverside. This place has no waiting room, nor WiFi. I got an email for the discount, but didn't honor that in this location. Other locations, they give discount as soon as I mention it. If I were making it up, how would I know how much the discount would be for specific order like an oil change, plus I mentioned the $25 Gift Card. I told the worker, and he said "that's not right." Great service and Fabi at the front desk provides superlative customer support and service. This was the second car service I have had completed here. I especially appreciated their care, attention to detail and willingness to provide multiple options at differing price points which helped us stay on budget even with unforeseen service needs. Sunday's are the worst day for your car batterie to die. But I am so glad we met Jon he was our hero! We have a hybrid vehicle and I kid you not every time we called a location and they asked the make and model of the vehicle it's like as soon as they heard the two words Hybrid and batterie they said they couldn't help us. It was so frustrating. I called Pep Boys and we spoke with Jon he was so friendly and helpful! He asked all the right questions and was so patient and informative. I feel the world needs more people Jon. He truly saved the day! Thank you Pep boys for hiring people like Jon! He truly embodies everything a good worker should display especially a mechanic I can't believe he wasn't a manager. The lack of professionalism and accountability that seems to flow through the veins of this front counter establishment, the associate "Fabi", has costed this place a lumpsum of credibility and praise. The "don't have to" attitude especially didn't help. Complete lack of empathy or willingness to help the customer devise the correct solution was zero to none. With records to prove, the technicians themselves like to waste time, are without proper training, and/or are not given direction that may impose on their frequent "dance" time. In a position of leadership, you need to set an example and this day Fabiola decided to let her emotions get the best of her. With proper training and approach the result could have been different. I came in for my appointment at 8am. All I needed was a break inspection and to change my front brakes & rotors. My car was not ready until 5 hours later. Mind you, I was the first customer at the door when they opened. Fabiola, the receptionist that checks people in is very rude. I asked if she can explain the charges and she gave me attitude. This place is very overpriced and takes way too much time. You might as well take your car elsewhere. *make sure to check everything you are being charged for because I asked for ceramic brakes and they did not listen and installed metallic. Been taking my vehicle to Pep Boys for a little over a year and this location does not disappoint. Fabi and the team of mechanics provide amazing service and always make sure to follow up with any concerns, took my vehicle in today for a routine oil change and a sensor inspection as the tire pressure sensor was continuously going off. Mechanic Vincent followed up after inspecting the tires and resolved the sensor issue, he also advised that the rear tires were running low on thread. Fabi was extremely helpful and assisted by displaying all tires they carry. She even mentioned the current coupon from their website and made sure everything was completed (I'm a sucker for a coupon). Very disappointing customer service and tire installation service. My daughter had a nail in one run-flat tire, took her car to Pep Boys and purchased one regular (not run-flat tire) to replace the damaged one. That would have left her with two run-flat tires and two regular tires. Pep Boys service tech changed the wrong tire, replacing a good run-flat with the standard tire and left the damaged tire in place. This was discovered when her low pressure light came on again. Pep Boys admitted the error and offered to replace the good run-flat that was mistakenly removed with another standard tire. This would have left her with one run-flat and 3 standard tires (all less expensive than the run-flat.) After a phone call with Jose/Manager that resolved nothing and escalated to a near shouting match, we went to Pep Boys in person to resolve the issue. The manager, Jose, would not replace the good run-flat tire that they changed in error and disposed of with another run-flat. He argued that the tire was used but could not provide either that tire or pictures of it to show the condition. His solution was to either replace the run-flat tire with a standard (and less expensive) tire or with a used run-flat tire. After some heated discussion, we requested a refund for the tire my daughter had purchased that was installed on the wrong wheel. Jose agreed, money was refunded, and we took our business to Grand Prix Tires on Monterey Pass Road where they know the difference between a good tire and one with a nail in it. Jose's manner was unprofessional, argumentative, contradictory within the conversation at the business, and overall a very poor representation of Pep Boys. Fabi, however, was professional, courteous, and stepped in to try and diffuse/resolve the situation. Needless to say, we will not be giving any more business to Pep Boys preferring to go to other local businesses that demonstrate knowledge, expertise, integrity, and professionalism. That was sorely lacking at Pep Boys based on the quality of work that was done, the lack of oversight by any supervisor, and their unwillingness to appropriately correct a mistake made by them. Pep Boys is open open open. Surprise surprise!!! I thought both the store and the service center closed...but while the store itself isn't open anymore (apparently it'll reopen as Advanced Auto)...but the service shop IS open for business. So I got a last-minute oil change for my Miata at a good price; with an online 25 percent discount YAYYYY! The process was easy; online text kept me informed...they did a standard inspection, checked tire pressure, and even let me know my air filter was fine, didn't need replacing so saved me some $$; they didn't try to do the air filter replacement anyway, or try to upsell me on more than I asked for, which was awesome. I asked them to inspect the brakes and give me a condition assessment, cost estimate...turns out there's still life in the brakes, yay! Had the brakes needed changing, they had parts to replace. Gooood to know. My review would be five stars for friendly helpful service from Vinny and John. Thanks to Levy too who used to own a Miata which gave me confidence that my car would be treated with care. Four stars because there was an issue with a charge on the invoice, and I had to return to the service center next day to have an adjustment, since they couldn't do it over the phone; but thank you to the young lady at the counter who gave me my credit in cash. Terrible customer service. Will not be going back. I ordered 4 replacement tires for my vehicle and made an appointment online via the Pep Boys website. My appointment was set for 6 pm and I had an order number and appointment confirmed online. When I arrived a few minutes before 6pm, the sales representative from the office told me they were closed (despite Yelp and their website stating they are open until 7pm). I tried to show her my online confirmation and provide my order number but she was rude and told me she already knows what it says and I did not have an appointment because they were closed and my order wouldn't even show up on their system until the following day. I was told they would call me to reschedule the following day. The following day I waited for call until past 10:30 am and after not getting a call I followed up. She again did not have my order information so I provided it again and she assured me she would have everything ready so I can arrive and drop off my car. When I arrived the same sales representative again did not have any of my information despite ordering online, providing an order number and providing it to her again when I called. I wish I would have canceled my order and taken my vehicle to a different location because when I picked up my vehicle later that afternoon all 4 of my tires and rims were splattered with white liquid. I don't expect to pick up my vehicle with tire shine and polish but they should have at the very least wiped the excess off my rims. Not only that they used my personal wheel lug nut incorrectly and it is now damaged. This review is not on the tires because they seem to be ok tires but if I would have known I was going to receive such bad customer service I would not have taken my vehicle there. Went just to get tires 2 months ago and do to a damage TPMS sensor that pep boys have caused now 2 months later and after 5-6 visits and still with the same issue . Nothing fixed , just getting the round around for Something that they did . I been wasting countless hours trying to go back and forth with pep boys . Took my 2016 Odyssey for an oil change at 7:30 am. They called at 1:34 p.m. to let me know what other parts that need to be replaced or repaired. I politely declined and picked up the van at 6:30 p.m. One customer was waiting to pay/pick up their vehicle and I had to wait almost 30 mins before I get my keys. I entered the vehicle and was a bout to leave when I noticed my glove compartment was completely detached with the cabin air filter left hanging out. I stopped to get the asst. manager (who helped me at the counter) to put it back on. I was livid. On the way to Costco in Monterey Park to get gas, I noticed that the engine was making a weird noise on an uphill street. Thinking what other parts Pep Boys inspected and remembered them recommending to replace air filter. I opened the hood once I reached the gas pump at Costco and found that my air filter box/housing was left opened and un-hooked. I was even more livid. For the price I paid for an oil change ($63 with $15 coupon/discount) this is the type of service I received. They're more expensive than the dealership and doesn't take care of your vehicle. Take your car elsewhere. There are plenty other mechanics in East LA. I will NEVER bring my vehicles to Pep Boys again. read more

Made an appointment at 1 pm and dropped off the truck at 12:30 pm to mount and balance 2 tires and told them to check the TPMS since I knew the rear right sensor wasn't transmitting. The truck was ready at 3 pm and the technician said no one noted to check the TPMS. So I said ok can you check it now. They said I'd have to wait over an hour and if not then to come back in the morning the next day. The whole point of scheduling an appointment and taking it the first time with me telling them what I want them to check is so that that can actually check and service it not to have to come back twice. I had a terrible experience here at PepBoys. I believe it's mandatory for them to work at a snails pace. I came in for 1 set of brakes to be done with an appointment 1st thing in the morning, and it took them almost 4 hrs to finish. Seriously, the techs here all move like they are hungover. As I was observing the garage, there were numerous times that no mechanics could be seen. They are talented at disappearing, too! I also spoke with a few of the other customers waiting, and they were experiencing the same poor service. I sure hope they get it together here. Just Beware! Expect long wait times. read more

Came here for brake service in February, agreed to their whole service that cost me about $800, it's May and my brakes are still squeaking. I've taken my car back multiple times and they say they don't hear squeaking. I finally get a mechanic in my car and he can magically hear the squeaking now. They "change the brakes" again, no squeaking for a couple of weeks and now back to squeaking. Conveniently there's squeaking again now that the labor warranty is over. Maybe pep boys is good for tires but not for actual vehicle maintenance and service. Don't go to this pep boys. read more

It was Saturday and my usual brake guy was already closing for the day and was closed on Sundays so I checked "brake replacement near me" and Pep Boys came up. I went down there and asked if they could do them today since I had to be somewhere at 6pm. They had the brakes and rotors in stock but the time would go over so I asked if they could hold the parts and I would come back Sunday in the a.m. and they said ok. But Sunday morning, all the stuff he put on hold wasn't in the system anywhere. No notes, nothing. I was so frustrated since I saw and heard him put these things on hold! And the morning guy had told me they couldn't even do it anyway because there was no mechanic on duty that day. He was still nice despite the situation, which is why there's 2 stars in this review. They quoted around $500 for everything and that seemed a little steep for brake replacement. Just gonna go to my local guy next week. read more

This might be the most dishonest retaliating mechanic I've ever been to. How is it I bring my truck to be serviced and 3 returns later the issue is not resolved and damages left to my truck! My cruse control switch was busted as well as the engine cover cracked as if someone punched it breaking the housing. I called corporate and spoke to the manger with his golly shucks costumer service. Nothing was resolved and I'm out over $2000 in unresolved work. 000 star review. Photos Made my appointment online 1am in the morning, had my appointment at 10am for battery replacement. The car is done about 30mins later and when the mechanic pulling my car out of the bay I found a long scratch mark on the battery side front fender. I always always double check all around my car before I hand it to ANY mechanics for my own protection. Yet before they work on my car the associate name Jordan/ Jay.. took my key sat in my car and wrote down my car mileage and other things. later when I confronted them and he said I did saw the scratch was originally on my car when he "inspect" my car but he thought since my car had some other really small imperfection on my car already so he didn't notify me. They should have put on a fender cover before they work on my car or any other cars. Yet as you can see on the second picture. Nope no cover just bare paint. Also they didn't not save my electronic setting or (failed to save my setting) now I have to reset my windows and seats myself. Of course they also denied that. Before installation I told the mechanic that I have fog light connected to my battery so when he put in the new one in he can just simply connect them back to the new battery and nope he just left it alone without connecting them. Now the manage Rafael told me that he will take a look at the security camera to determine if they were the one who scratched my car. read more

One of my headlights went out and my dealership would've charged me $50 to change it. However the guys here at Pep Boys were great! I called ahead of time to see if I needed an appointment and they said I wouldn't need to and to just stop by. There was a slight miscommunication since they said it cost $40 to change it including the cost of the headlight itself. However, when I arrived, I was told that there isn't an actual shop here (the shop here has been closed) so I should've bought the headlight ahead of time. Luckily the guy helping me checked inventory and happened to have one last one that fit my car sitting around so I didn't have to drive to an autozone to pick one up. He helped me change the headlight and then ended up just charging me for the headlight itself so I only had to pay $15! They were so busy on a Saturday afternoon too so I'm really appreciative that they helped me without an appointment and without charging me for the labor! Came in early (7:25am) for a simple oil change, and inspection for Lyft. And for them to check something wrong with my rear right wheel shaking a little. Was told 9:30am it would be done/I would get a cal. I stuck around the area. Had breakfast etc... I come back at 9:30am, my car hadn't even been moved. As I came back, I saw someone who came in and got an inspection on the spot within 5mins. My car was dropped off 2 hours before that persons car. I just asked for my keys back. If anything, they inflated my tires within those two hours. Don't play with people's time. Specially people working rideshare. Come on. This spot is near me and I support my local businesses in the area, but don't waste your time here. They are etheir understaffed, lazy, or just set some clients off to the side before they work on yours since they saw you physically walk away from the store. That's not cool. Yesterday I took my vehicle to Pepboys off Atlantic Road in East Los Angeles. I called previously and spoke with Marcos, who told me they would be able to change out my tire pressure sensors. I had already purchased the sensors and just needed the labor done. An hour or so later, I arrive to drop off my car and am greeted by Jesus and Marcos. They were friendly and said it would take about 1.5 hours to get my sensors changed, as long as they didn't have any issues reprogramming them. I stuck around the area and an hour and a half later I stopped by to use the bathroom and check on the status. I noticed my car had not been touched in the parking lot which I thought was strange. When I walked in, Marcos asked me if I had a kill switch on my car and mentioned my battery died. I thought that was even more odd because my battery was showing fully charged on the dashboard upon arriving. He was able to jump my car and says it will take another 1.5 hours to change the sensors. An hour later, Jesus calls me to tell me that my battery died AGAIN, and that they could not change out the sensors unless I get a new battery from them. At this point I am livid, as I feel they are trying to trick me into buying unneeded parts as a single female. I refused to get a new battery from them and took my car elsewhere to get serviced. Before I left, I pointed to my dashboard in the car to show Macros my battery was showing fully charged. All he could say was, "oh... I don't know." I left Pepboys and went to Autozone who tested my battery - it was working just fine as I expected. I then took my car to Just Tires who changed out the sensors in less than a hour. I'd like to point out that Pepboys didn't even try to change out the sensors with the "faulty" battery. I was told I needed to get a new one or they couldn't service me... obviously this was a complete lie. My experience here was overall disappointing and a waste of time. I will not visit this location again and I suggest you do not waste your time either. There are many mechanics in the area that are honest and will respect your time. Please take your vehicle elsewhere. Brought my car in for an oil change at 10:00 am and the gentleman took in my information. When I pulled up to the space in the shop to park my vehicle, one of the many workers there told me to move my vehicle to the parking lot area (where the regular store customers park) and hand the keys over. When I asked why there they said to not worry about it and that my vehicle would be ready by 2 pm...When I came back at 2:00 pm, they gave me the incorrect invoice. When I told them it was not the correct vehicle, they started to panic and conversed among each other saying they had no clue where the vehicle was at. They then found the slip, lord knows where, and told me that they had not completed the oil change. I was obviously upset because this was a waste of time and I was provided with horrible service. Normally I'm pretty mellow with situations such as this and can know that sometime people have their bad days. However, I was not the only one going through a bad time here. During the time I was there waiting for someone to give me answers, there was an elderly couple whom had an appointment for their air conditioning. The poor couple was told in such a rude manner that they had to reschedule their appoint because their AC tech had called off. When the couple was trying to decide when they could come back, the representative had a look of annoyance. Please take your vehicles elsewhere for maintenance. Pep Boys definitely needs to work on their customer service and train their employees to have better communication skills. Zero stars on my behalf.
