This is the worst place in the Desert! I called and asked the price for the tier change they told me around $60(I gave tier size and car make), after I arrived they said because of my car-specific it would be $82, but before I provided the size and dimensions can you imagine after the car done they just left random price without any detail for $102!!!!! I went there to change two front tiers and I bought before in a special eBay deal with Pep Boys read more

Amazing service! Had my car up & running in no team and so extremely helpful, resourceful, & knowledgeable! Benjamin & Michael certainly deserve raises. Thank you so so much! I had to work out of town, drive out to LA, I completely trust them with my vehicle. My car ran exceptionally well! Fantastic job! read more

Benjamin the so called 'manager' says he has voided my warranty cuz my truck is 2 inches taller then stock when it was like this when it came here b4 anyway and he then accused me of being a liar....he has harassed me after being told not to contact me cuz the higher ups will take care of my issue and yet he still harassed me. Other pepboys locations says my truck height is not a issue and can be aligned and worked on....seems like Benjamin just doesn't want the business.....avoid this pepboys like the plague read more

I paid for 4 Michelin tires that showed up as "in stock" + an alignment and made an appointment for installation. At the time of my appointment I showed up to this Pep Boys and they had no record of my appt nor did they have a record of my payment. Luckily I showed my emailed receipt and confirmation to the coordial staff. After waiting 40 minutes I was notified they didn't have the tires I paid for in stock. I cancelled my order and it was another 20 minutes before I was assured that my order was cancelled and my credit card would not be charged or it would be refunded as soon as possible. The online stock availability and online appointment system do not work successfully. I wasted 2 hours with commute plus hassle for tires that were supposed to be in stock (but weren't) and an appointment i had a confirmation for (but they had no record of). read more

Poor customer service. They could not be bothered to let us know vehicle was ready. Waited over an hour for a battery installation.

Had appointment for a basic oil change and tire rotation. Showed up on time and the counter rep said what are you here for? I said my 9am appointment. He said what is it for? I told him. He said thats not going to happen today, that there was only one tech and there were 4 cars in front of me. I said I made an appointment for this reason, if it was an issue why would you not call me and let me know before coming down? He said - dont know, call corporate. Left, went next door to Jiffy Lube and was done in 15 mins. Wont be going to Pep Boys again. read more

Had an appointment for an oil change at 2:00 p.m. Showed up at 1:55 p.m. and rep said we needed to reschedule for another day since they only had one tech and he was booked out. I said it would've been great if they called to tell us that so we could have booked somewhere else. He said "On a Sunday, not likely. And we have too much administrative work to do calls like that." read more

This review is on my second visit to this particular pep boys and both experiences were made better because of Louis and his team. I also appreciate the rebates offered on the products. The service I receive here is what keeps me coming back, while I can't say I enjoy general car maintenance it is a necessary part of owning a car made all the more pleasurable by the technicians doing the work. Thank you again for keeping me safe and on the road. read more

The service received from this shop is above and beyond great. They are willing to go out their way for their customers and do what they can to make their customers happy. I would recommend this shop too anyone who needs work done on their car. Best mechanic shop I've been too. read more

Not a honest company, Cancelled my oil change appt. most likely they used my time for someones else's tire change etc to make hire profit. 2 days back I was told they were booked but lies they had openings online. AC service they charge $50.00 for checking and $200 to $400 for refill. I got is done at Lion Auto Service El Monte, CA for under $200.00. I only go for oil change now to Walmart.com online appt and get full synthetic oil change for around $70.00. read more

Note: I have been a customer with Peo Boys for 40 Years...I have had nothing but problems with Pep Boys since Covid...I had a appointment with the Cat City Store a week ago for my vehicle alignment, I pulled up and the store is suddenly going out of business! They would not honor my appointment, even though the store was still open...So the only store left open in the Coachella Valley is now in Indio...I make the same appointment there, I get there 6 minutes late due to heavy traffic, and the GM Benjamin refuses to service my Vehicle...This is the same man who has been a major problem for me here before...It's always the same story: You made the appointment online, (The web site shows appointments till 5:00P - He claims online appointments 'don't count' here), the technician did not show up, Store is closing, Etc - A different excuse every time...But what makes it much worse here is this 'GM' is a total Jerk with no customer service skills: He acts - And looks - More like a gang banger than a Manager...So be aware, The Pep Boys stores are slowly closing and going out of business, they are not honoring their contracts, They are supposed to close at 5:30P, Now they suddenly close at 4...(He claimed the techs were all sent home at 4, My appointment was at 4:30)...There is literally no customer service left at Pep Boys...After situations like this have happened to me here several times now, I will never come back, And I will be requesting a total refund of my Pep Boys alignment plan from the Corporate Office...The Store Grade is an F! Zero Stars if I could - Avoid this failing business at all costs! read more

Went to get my car looked at and serviced last week. I'm glad I chose Pep Boys in Indio Benjamin was knowledgeable, patient and helpful even though he looked rather busy, because there seemed to be a lot going on. rude customer service. I made an appt online for $1000 of tires and alignment. I was on time but workers were at lunch and rep said he did not know if he had the tires which I had ordered days ago. I wish I had read the reports of the company prior to driving there for 30 minutes. They need better service and get rid of the nasty staff. I will definitely pass the word alone. they do not adhere to online orders, only calls. The worst ever and I was to pay over $1000 to them. NEVER AGAIN read more

Never take your car to pep boys to get an alignment in Indio they have no clue or what they're doing. I took my truck in cuz they're slightly pulling to the left got it back with my steering wheel cock to the left and it pulling hard to the right now took the guy three times to almost correct it but now the steering wheel is a little cock to the right and it drifts to the right I took it in to fix that problem I paid $100 and now it's pulling to the opposite side what a waste of money. I will boycott them they didn't want to give me my money back I have to fight to get my money back which is BS I'm sure the rest of their mechanic stuff they do there is not any good either. read more

showed up they said they couldn't do it. We said we wished they had told us so we could go somewhere else and the rude guy said "eh it's Sunday, you couldn't go anywhere else anyway." Why act like that? Just call to let us know so we don't drive all the way way there. Terrible service. Would never try to come back read more

Came here Saturday for an alignment, Luis said "appointments don't matter that your better off just showing up at 8am instead." Then I explained to him that's like showing up to a reservation and then them saying you should have shown up earlier. Then he said ok it'll be done in about 2 hours.. Job was in fact done in after 2 hours and we returned prior to them being finished. The technician pulled it out and handed us our keys. Didn't test drive it, Nothing signed, no paperwork provided, and no alignment printout. Nothing. I said that's odd. Took off and noticed it pulled really bad to the right so I called and said I can't bring it back today but will you be there Wednesday morning (3/22) Luis confirmed he would be. Showed up Wednesday the 22nd 757 am, walked in at 8am was greeted by Jesus (name not provided or on his shirt, I had to ask) told him why I am there and that I had an appointment. His response was aggressive and said "not today, maybe by the end of the day." I said "there's nothing you can do? It's a 60 mile around trip for me to come here and now I'm here twice for the mistake, Shouldn't you call customers that have appointments if you can't do the service" he responded "it's online I can't see online appointments.. The bay is blocked and they still need to pour down stuff" I told him it isn't blocked and the asphalt is already Laid. He said they can't but I'm more than welcome to leave the keys and I can try by the end of the day. On my way out the tech that did the alignment asked me what happened I told him and he said let me see what I can do. I told him no use, the guy (jesus) said there's nothing he can do already. Here's a picture of the alignment rack they can't use cause it's blocked. Will be using a different location moving forward. This location is a show up, punch in punch out shop. Service advisor couldn't care if you needed anything done, don't own up to their mistakes and try calling them it may take 10 minutes to get help. read more

This place saved the day. Came for the weekend and ended up with a flat tire 4pm on a Saturday . Most places are closing at 5. After the spare was put on drove over to Pep Boys. Julian and Louis went beyond the call of duty. Great service, nice people, and they saved the day. read more

Bought a battery from Pep Boys and hope to be able to use the 48 month warranty when it dies at 24 months? Well, you'd better have kept the receipt! We were told that they didn't believe the battery was ours, and that we could have found it somewhere and put it in the car. And when asked to get the records from the different Pep Boys location (Long Beach, which did not answer their phones), they said that their systems don't interact. Lesson learned: go to Costco, get a better battery (Interstate) at half the price and install it yourself. read more

I am writing you to inform of the dissatisfying service I received from Pep Boys, in Indio, California on Sunday march 14. Unfortunately, I took my car to receive get an oil change six days ago today, and have not been able to obtain any information from Pep Boys regarding the long length of service for an oil change and tires. This situation has interrupted my day-to-day obligations, and the additional cost I have occurred to ensure my obligations are met, has not made this situation easier. I have attempted to reach their management to resolve my problem, and until this day have not received a callback or a resolution. Today March 17 Thursday Both my Fiancé and i went to pick up My car and get refund. Louis stated he could not give me a refund. He then became very aggressive, coming around the counter in a very unprofessional manner as if he wanted to fight my fiancé. (All recorded by the way) I am still in disbelief. It is my obligation to inform you of this matter as it is not an ethical behavior towards customers to not provide them with an update or an immediate resolution. read more

I had a minor repair and didn't want to drop it and rent a car. Julian said he could get me in right away and be finished in 45 mins. Less than 30 minutes later he's back with my keys. Finished! And it cost much less than I expected. Thanks Julian, I'll definitely be back! read more

They don't read their reviews! You get a generic response which makes it OBVIOUS they DO NOT BOTHER to read! "Contact our customer service email, and tell us more about your experience." I took my car in, break pads were needing changed. They told me I needed all new breaks, AND all new tires. Quoted thousands... I took for second opinion, to a referal mechanic in Indio. Pep Boys - My confirmed Appointment at 3pm - Tires Near Me - Indio, California

I'm new to Indio. Since I had great luck with Pep Boys over they years when I lived in Los Angeles, I decided to try this nearby Pep Boys. I needed 4 new tires, a car alignment, and a car battery. I did comparison shopping with a few of the other local shops/mechanics. Yet overall, I was happy that I got good pricing at this Indio Pep Boys, plus I was very happy that I could have all 3 jobs completed at Pep Boys. Whereas some of the other shops/mechanics could not perform all 3 jobs, which meant I would have to go somewhere else to have 1 or 2 of the other jobs completed. So it was convenient that Pep Boys was able to do all 3 jobs, in 1 stop. Overall, I have no complaints about this Indio Pep Boys. I though the pricing was fair, the customer service was very good. If I had to complain, I would say that I was only disappointed by the fact that I was told that my car would be completed at a certain time, but it was not. So I called about 2 hours after my car was scheduled to be completed, but they told me that my car was not ready and would be ready in about an hour. So it would have been nice if they would have called me "first" and let me know that it was taking longer and that I could pick up my car at the new completion time, "before" I called them to learn this. Yet since I did not wait at the shop for the work to be completed, it really was not an issue. Once I picked-up my car, everything was done to my satisfaction and I has happy. Now that my car is no longer under factory warranty, I plan to bring my car to Pep Boys to get major mechanical work done on it when needed, as it would cost much more if I took my car to the dealer to have the same work done. Yet again, I had been going to Pep Boys in Los Angeles for decades, and I always felt I got good quality parts, and good quality work done on my car for a fair and decent price. Plus I always got good customer service anytime I went to Pep Boys at any location. read more

Try to sell you on things your car doesn't even need. Sat here waiting for my car and witnessed three other customers leave angrily after hearing the estimates of the pep boys services. Clearly I wasn't the only one who thought of the prices and services ridiculous. At one point the employees must have forgotten I was here still waiting. The were making fun of the customers that had left after being given the outrageous estimates. Word of advice when the mechanics and front desk employee say "we don't try to up sell you on things your car doesn't need. We are not like that" It's more than likely a sign that they do! Never again will I get my car serviced here. read more

I made an appointment for just an oil change at 930am do to a coupon sent out for 25% off any oil change and when I got there I found out they were having a computer issue I get it it happens, but when they started taking my information I asked for the oil change but not the tire rotation he said fine then said their system wouldn't let them just add the basic semi synthetic oil and had to put the full synthetic in it I said forget it then the system let them add the basic oil ? When they finally started the oil change they came to the waiting room and said they need to replace the drain plug I said if it needs it okay, while they worked on the car I walked over to car quest in the same building and asked the counter person how much is a drain plug and told me 5.95 that's about normal so I walked back to the other door same building to the waiting room and waited I received a text saying car is finished and went to pay the bill and was given a what I thought was a mistake and when I asked how much for the drain plug he said $21 I told him right next door they are $5.95 he said don't be made at me the company sets the price. I feel it's price gouging and unacceptable for any company to add that much markup and will not be returning there for oil changes again I guess it's the dealership for service next time read more

Worst Experience Of My Life. Waited 4 hours to have them tell me they couldn't diagnose, and when I told them to try again, they said even if they diagnosed they wouldn't be able to do it today because it's almost closing time (I was there ALL DAY, and all of a sudden they didn't have time to properly diagnose????). If I could leave a 0 star review I would do so. I've always gone to americas tires for any type of tire issues. I saw a great promotion on tires online and I decided to open a line of credit with pep boys and was approved. I Looked online for prices and found the tires That had the best rating. Went into the store and waited almost four hours for set of 4 new tires. Went it was time to pay. I provided the information that was given to me by the credit card. the employee said "we need the expiration of that card" I'm like they didn't give me that information. I called pep boys again waited about 25 min and no one answered. I did asked the associate if they can call, maybe they can get a quicker response and he said no we don't do that here. I paid cash and left. I got home and noticed one of the caps was missing. Went back and talked to the store manager (Louis- Luis). He said "it was probably a road hazard and it fell off and btw you had missing clips on the cap that's probably the reason why it fell off. You can go to auto parts and buy a new up-cap". I was shocked on his response for being a store manager. I've been going to America's tires for two years with my vehicle and never once I had an issue of broken clips on the cap. There is one thing i like to point out is that The employee at pep boys did tell me the band of the alternator was making noise and gave me a quote to fix it. but he never mention the cap was missing clips. So it didn't make sense. I've worked in the auto service industry for couple years as a service advisor you have to let the customer know of issues that your vehicle has or was discovered while be maintenance. The store manager has no customer service experience and has poor work ethic. pep boys should just fire this guy. I'm hoping the district manager or higher management will help me with this issue asap. PLEASE DO NOT USE PEP BOYS IN THE INDIO LOCATION!!! Avoid avoid avoid read more

Thought i would give this location another try ! Years ago i had 6 vehicles they took care of ! Ours, kids, and work vehicles. As managers changed so did service ! Got real bad and i quit using them ! Made an online appointment for oil change at 4:30 ! on my way at 3;30 i get a call they can't do oil changes at 4:30 because the workers quit at 5 and that is not enough time ! Looks like not much has changed! If there was a negative star, I'd give it. Horrible service, inept mechanics, indifferent front desk, specifically Benjamin. I spoke to Denise who answered the phone before I brought my car in asking if Pep Boys could install and program Lexus tire sensors. Oh yes, I was assured. But oh NO, they couldn't and I wasted 2 trips to their shop for a total of 7 hours between the 2 visits. On the 2nd visit, the sensors still were not working after waiting 4.5 hours and paying over $400 dollars in parts and labor and guess what? Pep Boys Benjamin and his boss didn't give a F**K!! Benjamin said there must be an underlying condition, there's nothing they could do, and they won't refund my money. I drove off the lot mad as hell because you'd think when you take your car to a mechanic and they can't fix it, they wouldn't charge you right? These imbeciles didn't think to put in Lexus sensors so generic sensors were never going to work!! It was their fault all along. I wouldn't bring my skateboard to these idiots after burning through time and money. Plus their shop, especially their bathrooms are filthy. Overall, a horrible experience. read more

Booked online for a smog check on a Friday at 11.00am Got there just to be told they don't do them on Fridays or saturdays. If this is the case do 1 of two things. Change online booking system or 2, call the customer and explain.... I'm so sorry out master tech doesn't work Friday and Saturdays to do smog checks can I rebook you for another day. You know. Customer service? Looking after your clients?! I appreciate you're am individual store and you probably can't change the national wide online booking service just for your store.... however you CAN and SHOULD use option 2. You have lost my business. You wasted my time, energy money and petrol driving out to see you for no reason. Could have been avoided with a simple call. This place is not even 1 star but it didn't let me put what it really is a minus 20. On March 12, 2022 we took our car to get an oil change and tire rotation. Louis the so called store manager calls my fiancé and informs her that the tires on the car are real bad and need to be replaced. That they were not drivable. So we told him to get us a quote on 4 new tires. He called us back and told us he found the tires and they would be there Sunday and the car would be ready by 2pm. But before he could order the tires we had to pre pay. So we drove there and paid. He did not give us a work order explaining what all we were paying for. Instead he took screen shots of there computer and using his personal cell phone and text them to us. We went on Sunday at at 4pm and they were closed even though the store hours said 6pm. Went back on Tuesday and talk to Louis and he said they only shipped two tires and he doesn't know when they are going to send them. We didn't even get a call to inform us about the tires. Long story short today March 17 we went to pick up the car and the tires were still not there. Our car was there for 6 days and only two new tires. Tried to talk to Louis about giving us our money back so we could go get our tires somewhere else. Louis stated I can't give you your money back you have to call corporate. Louis became very unprofessional and told us to do him a favor and never come back. We told Louis we would never go back and we were going to tell everyone not to go there. He became anger, starring at me very aggressive than Louis walk around the counter wanting to fight. Stating It doesn't matter anywhere we are at its on. You don't scare me. There were customers there and his actions represent PepBoys. If that's what you Pep Boys want representing you brand name. That's real sad. Your so called Store manager Louis should be fired. If you see the reviews on yelp you should get rid of him. If you don't believe me look at your surveillance video for March 17, 2022 at approximately 3:50 pm. If it is erased I got the treats he made recorded. SO DONT GO TO PEP BOYS AT 81-246 State Highway 111 Indio, CA 92201. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSE WHERE.
