I took my 2017 Toyota Corolla to Firestone Complete Auto Care on 3/9/2026 and was presented with an estimate totaling $2819.90 including tax that included major suspension work (bushings, $1190.38), rear rotor replacement, and numerous additional services. They also wanted to add another $134.98 diagnostic/service procedure that I had already done the previous year, which only improved my fuel economy by about 0.2 MPG and clearly did not justify repeating. The estimate immediately felt very excessive, so I sought a second opinion from Al's Automotive, a highly rated independent shop in Indio. I paid $180 for a thorough inspection, which I found expensive, and their findings were dramatically different. They documented very precise measurements for everything including the suspension, and stated there was nothing wrong with the suspension and that the rear rotors did not need replacement. The actual necessary work totaled only $895, including front brake pads and rotors, a brake fluid flush, and other legitimate maintenance items, and including the expensive diagnostic. What is especially disappointing is that I had been a very longtime customer of Firestone for oil changes and basic service. Unfortunately, the service quality has noticeably declined over time. Wait times have become unreasonable -- during my most recent oil change visit, I lost essentially an entire afternoon waiting, despite making an appointment in advance. Combined with what appeared to be a heavily inflated repair estimate, it completely broke the circle of trust for me as a customer. I understand that repair shops can have differing opinions, but the gap between nearly $2,800 and under $900 for the actual needed repairs is difficult to ignore. I feel that Firestone tried to take advantage of me, and I strongly encourage customers to seek a second opinion before authorizing any expensive repair work from them, since they seem to have changed their long time advertised culture based on honesty. As for me, as a customer, I unfortunately cannot legitimately go back after having experienced what I see as an extremely abusive estimate from them. read more

I had a scheduled appointment for a wheel alignment this past Saturday at 1:00 PM. I arrived around 12:43 PM and found one other customer waiting, with no staff present at the front desk. He mentioned he had already been waiting about 15 minutes. After approximately 10 more minutes, two staff members came out from a back room. The first customer was assisted and informed that, without an appointment, the wait time would be about two hours. When I was called up, I explained that I had a 1:00 PM appointment for a wheel alignment. As the employee began to check me in, I asked about the expected wait time and was told it would be approximately three hours. I was surprised to hear this, especially since I had scheduled an appointment in advance. I understand that staff need to take lunch breaks and that delays can happen, but a three-hour wait with an appointment feels unreasonable and disrespectful of my time. The purpose of making an appointment is to minimize wait times and ensure better time management for both the customer and the business. While I understand waiting about 1-1.5 hours for the service itself, being asked to wait three hours before the service even begins is unacceptable. I was very upset by this experience and ultimately decided to leave. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration so that scheduling practices can be improved moving forward. read more

WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER FIRST AND LAST TIME THERE!!!!!! I walked in for a tire patch when the worker said the tire had to be replaced under warranty and never mentioned anything on cost, he scheduled me for the following day because they didn't have the tire in stock. I get there the next day and wait for them to tell me they dont have the tire so they rescheduled me again for the following day and i leave the car for a couple of hours and come back at closing time and the tire still hasn't been replaced. I asked the worker and he said that they were not going to be able to get to it till tomorrow, to leave the car over night and will have it ready by tomorrow which I couldn't do because its my only car and wouldnt have a ride to work. I came in to get my power steering pump swapped out. It was supposed to take 1 day to do this work. Then it was 2. Then it was 3. Then they got the wrong part. Day 4 finally I drive it home. I wake up on day 5, and there is a huge power steering fluid puddle (stain) on my driveway. So, now I'm sitting here 7:00 Saturday morning in the waiting room, again, waiting for them to fix whatever they screwed up. I'm visiting Palms Springs from Los Angeles. Prior to leaving I had my Two Front Tires changed in Los Angeles. While stopping at a rest stop, I heard and felt something rubbing or scraping as I was going into reverse. The sound went away so I thought nothing of it When I went to the market, I had the same experience, so I was guessing the Firestone in Los Angeles may have done something causing this issue. I called the Firestone 800 number to make an appointment, but as I was speaking to the sales rep, I thought maybe there was something wrong with my brakes. I made the appointment and went to Firestone on HWY 111. They told me they would check the car out, so I decided to take an Uber back to the Airbnb my wife and I were renting. Just then I saw the issue and so did everyone inside. Turns out the under front plastic protection cover was loose, twisted and dragging on the ground. Now I looked under the car numerous times and saw that. The sales rep and I wish I could remember his name was so honest and offered to remove the cover, at least what remained of it. He suggested removing the under pan because it would vibrate when driving fast and would be annoying. When I asked him how much I owed him, he laughed and said, no charge. This is the reason why the locations gets great reviews from their regular customers. If only we had this above and beyond service and caring in Los Angeles. Wish I lived here. Apparently my tires did not appreciate spending the day on the dirt roads of Joshua Tree. One of them let me know this fact by going flat in a windy canyon highway halfway back to Palm Springs. Since it was late in the day on a holiday weekend, pretty much every tire place was closed, except one. Firestone! And they had the unique tire size I needed. But they were going to close in 45 minutes! It was definitely a nail biting experience waiting for the tow truck to arrive, and traveling the 20 miles to get there. If we didn't make it by closing time - it would be three days until we could get it fixed! Fortunately we arrived just in time, about 10 minutes before they closed. I usually try to avoid being "that guy" that comes in with a huge order just before a place is about to close but in this case I had no choice. Melissa at the front desk was still cool about it and got the job done. The price of the tires was also reasonable and they were pretty efficient in getting me back on the road. 10/10 Experience and we highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a mechanic in the area. We have a 1990 Ford Econoline Van and needed a few issues addressed. We are doing a cross country road trip and thankfully found this store as we were stopping by. We called a few days in advance and talked on the phone with Donn Pike about the troubles we were experiencing. He was very helpful over the phone and even more so once we arrived to drop the van off. He walked us through everything about our van and gave us excellent and sincere customer service. My wife and I had work done on our car at an another location in Arizona before we headed to California for a vacation. During the trip, another item recommended for service rendered our car not able to travel more than about 45 MPH on the I-10. Visited this shop on a Sunday after 1 PM while I was on my way to Phoenix. My dashboard was lighting up like Christmas tree after driving for 120ish miles. This shop was the nearest thing open. It was about 108 degrees outside, but the guys at this shop saw me in about 10 min even though they had several other cars they were taking car of. They scanned my error codes and determined something was off with my engine's fuel/air ratio. In another 10 min they determined the error codes were due to software updates that they can't even make only dealer can. They gave me great guidance and determined a trip through the dessert wasn't worth the risk. I turned around and went home to get it done. I really appreciate the staff's urgency to my scenario and how communicative they were through out this process. Although I didn't have any official work done through them they gave me proper guidance and didn't try to cheat me. I would trust them with any service they were reliable and truthful. I do not recommend you go to this location. My car overheated 10 miles east of Indio on a Sunday and I was able to bring the car in. We were on a road trip to New Mexico for the holidays, so we had to leave the car here for 2 weeks. Had to call several times, but it was found that the radiator cap needed to be replaced and the symptoms made sense. They told me they replaced the cap and said that they ran several tests including a load test and pressure test. I pick the car up 2 weeks later and head out onto the road to get back to LA. Well, the car overheats again after 15 miles. I had the car brought to the Cathedral City location and heard back the next day that the cap that was currently installed had almost no gasket seal! I have no idea if this Indio location ever performed tests or ever actually replaced the cap. Go to Cathedral City instead. read more

Today I arranged to have my vehicle's wheels aligned. My appointment was at 7:00am, and the staff at Firestone was already on-site when I arrived early. The work was completed within an hour. What struck me was another customer that was demanding that her vehicle be serviced before others that were in line ahead of her. The manner in which the Firestone representative dealt with her was skillful. He was in a difficult position as the customer was claiming that her son was in pain and that if the work was not performed on her vehicle, she would miss her son's medical appointment. She went on and on and on. The entire conversation was unpleasant and I felt that she was pressuring the Firestone representative unfairly. He kept cool and tried to meet her needs. I came to this store in a panic. My positive battery terminal needed to be replaced. I was leaving on a trip the next day and needed to drive to LAX the following morning. I had to get this fixed today. It was 4:30 when I called them. Richie said to come right over. I got there and he took a look at it. It was a mess. It took him a while to get it off. It was broken and crumbling. It was really bad. He spent a good hour on it and finally got a new terminal on it. He and Isaac were so nice and friendly and accommodating. Firestone has been there for me since I enlisted in the Army over 5yrs ago! Their helpful service and dedication at their Fort Lewis branch guaranteed my business for a while. With that being said, this location is nothing like that of Fort Lewis. They lack exceptional service but get the job done at the given time! A summary and explanation of recommended services would be helpful, regardless if the customer will go with them or not. Also had a few times where they forgot to leave an oil change reminder sticker, which I prefer to have. I have their Firestone card and get my oil change here every time, but still somewhat feel like a stranger here haha They have free wifi that slightly works and coffee as well that I have not tried. They have a waiting area and a TV. You can schedule appointments ahead of time too. I would still not recommend this Firestone to friends just yet, because of the lack of comparison to their sister store in Fort Lewis. read more
