Went in for a simple oil pan replacement, had to go back every day due to the oil still leaking from pan/bolt/plug...incompetent mechanics, now after 3rd time...they promised me it was fixed, only to find out this am...it still isn't fixed. Having to remove oil off my driveway 4 days in a row, having to be inconvenienced, missing appointments, and having to leave work on multiple occasions. Again, this was for a simple changing of the oil pan... now I have to take to a more reputable mechanic to fix . If they are not able to switch out an oil pan without stripping the bolts, then they are not competent to do any work on any Car/SUV/Truck. Waste of my time...don't let them waste yours. read more

Said we needed 4 new tires but we had just gotten 2 new tires a month back. Then they changed it and said only 2 tires and when we asked which 2, they said the front (those were the new ones!!!) needless to say, we told them to just do the oil change. This has been a long time coming for me to write this review. Let me first say that I am so thankful for the professionalism and friendly service at this location. I wanted to replace my tires on my Chevy Malibu. I really felt it would be a good decision sense My family was moving to Tennessee. I have been a resident of Clark county for over twenty five years and wanted to make sure I went somewhere reparable. When I got to the new location on horizon I spoke with a James Campman who recommended a good quality tire. I explained I was driving over 1700 miles and wanted to make sure the tires could handle all types of weather and roads for our relocation. He advised my husband he would use the Kumho tires. They are good for our trip and can handle rain and snow as well as rough roads. Let me say you are so great James. Thank you sir for your professionalism and taking such good care of me and my family. The car drives so smooth and we made our trip to Tennessee safe and sound. Pep Boys is very blessed to have James and I am so sorry I did not get the gentleman's name that put the tires on and had my car ready for me. They were also using all the proper COVID safety rules and guidelines. So if you need tires or anything done to your vehicle call James at PepBoys you will not be sorry. They may not be the lowest price in town however, they stand behind their products and they are honest and hard working to get the job done right. Took my girlfriends Chevy Traverse in for a basic flat repair, screw in the dead center of the tread. Was told that the tread was low but not enough to warrant new tires just yet. Paid $30 to repair the small screw hole and it has leaked for a month straight, filling with air weekly to drive. Took it into a trusted repair shop and was told they had used a mesh repair and they are unable to properly fix it at this point. Had to buy two new front tires. Sounds to me like they intentionally did not make the correct repair in hopes of me bringing it back in for new tires. This location has serviced my vehicle before and did a decent job with decent customer service. However, my recent experience was dreadful. I booked an appointment on their website which specifically asks if you will be staying with your vehicle. I selected that I would be. When I arrived 10 minutes early I was approached by DJ and asked if I was dropping off. I said I was not to which I was told he had several other appointments which had been booked for months in advance and he flipped out a clipboard to show me and that he couldn't control the web. I asked to speak to a manager that I didn't like the flippant tone he was having with me and he very arrogantly stated with a chuckle "I actually am him." It was at this time I looked down and noticed the business card that shows the actual manager Jonathan, it seems this DJ must be an assistant (poor choices, Pep Boys). Anyway, I asked what the point of booking an appointment was and why it asks about staying with the vehicle if it was going to be several hours before they were even going to get to the vehicle as they really don't uphold the online appointment slots. He shrugged and again stated he can't control what online does. This is unbelievable. It's a battery cable. I so wanted this to be a 4-star review, I settled on a 3-star review when it really should be a 2 star. The staff is friendly; the shop is clean and no long wait for service. That keeps it from being a one star. Last week I took my 2004 Ford Explorer to Pep Boys for some needed repairs. Earlier in the month, I had another mechanic do some minor work and he handed me a list of things that needed attention. SO going in I knew it wasn't going to be quick or cheap. Chris, the manager, was nice, easy to talk with and seemed knowledgeable. We agreed on what needed to be done now and what could be put off until later. It would be a two-day job. Ok, agreed, left him the keys and went about my business. Following day, I had an update in the morning then silence. So I stopped by to see how the progress was going. Chris informed me that they hit a snag. A problem that seemed like it did not have a solution and if they progressed on it any further, they may never get it fixed. The problem you ask? The battery cable was corroded. "Ford no longer makes parts like this for your year of the vehicle and there aren't any aftermarket parts out there." Let that sink in for a minute..... battery cable for a 2004 Ford Explorer. Apparently, they don't make anything like that anymore... .. They cut a few inches off to check to see if the entire cable was corroded or just the tip. It was the entire cable. If they tried to cut anymore, it would not go back on and connect with the new battery. I thought he was joking. A battery cable stalled an expensive repair project? A $5 piece of cable, with a metal connector on each end. (Actually, it's $11.95 retail) How hard is it to make one up? I asked and he said that making a new one is a custom job and they don't do custom jobs. Now if it were a 20004 Maserati or some other exotic car, I would understand better. But a piece of heavy duty insulted wire with a metal connection at both ends is not fancy, no computers attached or need for tuning the resistance bearing component. It solves a problem. I don't call making a battery cable a custom job, for a business that has "repair" in their title; I would put that under "customer service". Earning my repeat business by problem-solving. Doing what you are being paid to do: repair my vehicle. When I walked into the nearby Pep Boys store as well as neighboring AutoZone , they had a whole wall of battery cables. I was told to just bring in the old one and they would size one up. No Problem. It's not "custom" or a unique job that requires any fancy machinery or tools. In fact, look at the photo of my new battery and the battery cable; they cut and crimped a new end on there. By Chris's definition, that is a custom job and they don't do custom jobs. SO how did that happen?? A new connection to a bad cable that will soon fail. The time it took to tell me that line of garbage and to put the new end on - if you spent that time making a new cable, you would have never had the problem with time to spare. Being a "repair" facility, I would think they would have suppliers or people who could do it quickly for them if they could not. But instead, I learned all they do is point to a bad part, call up the dealer, get the new part (no matter the cost) and pull it out of the box and replace Yes, it's the small things that come back to bite you in business. For what Pep Boys is charging in labor, they are glorified parts replacers, not repair or problem solvers. If it weren't for the fact that you could not fix a simple battery cable, I would have made this a 4 star review. But a simple little problem stalled the entire project?? Unbelievable. read more

I see the same workers in there and they are friendly. If you join their rewards system you can also get further discounts. They are also close restaurants and a grocery if you want want to blow off some time while you wait. I have only used them for tires but they do other things such as brakes, shocks and general maintenance and I can't vouch for that. read more

After spending $3334 less than a month ago on new tires, tpms sensors and air conditioning compressor and condenser i took the car back to have the tpms sensors reprogrammed / reset the sensors. At 1st they gave me a $400 estimate on leaky valve. . They called and now the estimate jumped to $1000. They returned the car back to me without fixing / reprogramming the tpms sensors. They are always selling up and racking up the price. I worked for Ford motor for 15 years and I know the game. Dont go here unless you want to get ripped off. The worst one of the bunch is Johnathan he has lied about tpms being programed and the other one is MIKE D he pretends to be helpful but the socks it to you by racking up the prices. While I was there I had them do a brake Inspection as I was told I needed new brakes elsewhere. As it turns out I don't need new brakes and the staff was so honest about it that it saved me $550! I went in, without an appointment to see if they could change my brake light and headlight, and how long it would be to fix for me. First he checked the price for me, which was very reasonable and first said I could come back in about an hour. Then one of the mechanics, said, " you know what, I have a small break before my next car, I can do it right now". They took my car right in, fixed both lights and done perfectly. He even cleaned the fingerprints of the light! Super nice, very welcoming, and did not try to sell me anything etc. Excellent service and honest. Perfect, beyond expectations! DO NOT GO HERE!!! The manager Roberto is rude and will definitely rip you off. He quoted us about $700 for just the front brakes. He said the brake pads, rotors and calipers needed to be replaced. After the whole job I asked around and everyone I talked to said calipers should not ever need to be replaced especially in a 2011 car. They said the job would take about 2 hours. When we went back, 5 hours later, they said the total was $950!!! Outrageous. I brought along a mechanic friend to talk to them and he looked at the old calipers and they were still brand new. They refused to refund any money and threatened to call the police if we stepped inside. We also called the corporate office and he was an asshole. He said there was nothing he can do, he basically said they did nothing wrong. read more

Get there with time to spare and was told my appointment would not be honored because their online appointment scheduler wasn't working and they didn't have it down. Although the employee was sympathetic and asked me to come back in the afternoon it's just not my problem their online stuff isn't working they should've honored my time I scheduled. The manager broke my oil stick off into my car and proceeded to tell me it was like that before but literally 5 min before I got there I checked it and it was perfectly fine. He then went on to tell me a new oil stick would be $38. When he was saying this I looked online and they were literally $12. And then proceeded to tell me to get it out and everything with labor it would be $267. FOR SOMETHING HE DID!!! I took it home and my dad and I got it out in less than 2 min.
