It's ok. Good serviceable place, maybe won't screw you over the other places, good quality, ok value, ok service.

Wish I would have trusted the reviews before coming here. Came here for convenience but they obviously took shortcuts to try & resolve my problem. They terribly overcharged initially to charge up my AC and put freeon in it, then a week later my same issue occurred and what seemed like should have been covered by the warranty from the initial visit was not at all covered. Tried to charge me again for "an inspection" a week after already "fixing my problem" and only removed the charge because I brought up that I was essentially getting double charged for that. As it always goes, what seems cheap initially will always end up costing more. Their supervisor, Mike, is pretty arrogant, not friendly at all. Kind of a pain to work with. read more

We got charged for looking at a tire! They drove around the neighborhood came back and literally charged us $400 over one tire! And then we told them we didn't want it we had to pay them $42 just to get it back! Totally ridiculous ! We can just to Discount Tired and get it for $200! Just a rip off! read more

Had to get a/c compressor replaced. The estimate was $3100. Got A/c work done for $950.00. Be very careful dealing with these people.

First experience with the Collierville store. Couple things 1) Received a quote to fix upper and lower control arms, agreed to the price. Later in the day, I received a call back, say they "forgot" to add the parts on the quote and now its $800 more. Claiming that I was getting the parts at cost now since it was inadvertently left off. I agreed to move forward with the service and was told it would be done the next day. Its now going on day 4. Last night I was called and told that they ordered the wrong part for the driver side and I would need to wait until today for them to get the part. Received a call and it's going to be another day. Zero accountability and I get "sorry". I have no recourse or ability to get my truck and take it to another shop. I also bought tires, so for a total of nearly $3500 to fix and get tires Im getting sub standard service, unacceptable accountability and an overall lack of customer care. I was ripped off. I ordered a set of 4 tires online and got an order confirmation with the total amount being $905 and some change. When I arrived at the store, Jeff told me the price was $989. I asked what the difference was for the same exact services and he told me it was basically because their website sucked and he would not honor the price after I showed him my online confirmation email with the detailed price breakdown and total. I asked him if I had chosen the prepay online option would it have been different and he quickly changed the subject and told me I was already getting a buy 3 get one free deal so I really should be happy with it. That's not the point. The point is that they would not honor the price in my order confirmation and baited and switched me. It's not so much the money but the principle of the matter. Went in for an alignment check. They recommended replacing tie rods (to fix the alignment issue). They also recommended replacing the rear dampers and 4 new tires because the worn dampers caused tire damage(according to them). I agreed to all recommendations (over 2k spent). BUT, The new tie rods did not solve the alignment problem and they recommended an engine diagnosis for 99 Dollars. I refused because it didn't make sense that an engine diagnostic would have anything to do with alignment. I eventually took the vehicle to Firestone who fixed the alignment for 100 Dollars. Pep Boys 1120 W Poplar did not deliver on this one. They made money but they did not solve MY problem. I have lost trust in this brand and I have learned to rather go for a second opinion. read more

Ever since South tire has closed. I was looking for another car maintenance place to service my Corolla. So I did a Google search & searched for oil change in Collierville. I came across the usual places I've done business with in the past. Which I was unsatisfied with them. Then I came across Pep Boys & saw they opened up in the old Goodyear location. I heard a lot of good things & read a lot of good reviews. So I decided to let Pep Boys service my vehicle. Every time I have came here. I've always had a good experience when it came to the maintenance and customer service. My first time here was to get an oil change. I was satisfied with the quality of their work & reasonable price so I came back again. When my next Oil Change was due. But I would be back sooner then what I thought when I had a regulator breakdown on my power window. So I took it to Pep Boys to figure out what was wrong with my power window. They took a look at it gave me a quote & had them do it right away. When they were done with the job my window was working condition. I was happy they replaced it because it was about to rain. But wait there's more I had just bought my Corolla back in Feb. & needed new brakes so I was once again back at Pep Boys needing new brakes. My brakes were installed in a timely fashion at a reasonable price & service to match. Now my tire has a nail in & I needed some patch work done so Pep Boys was here again the Save the Day. Once Again they offered the same Quality Service as they have done the 3 previous times. I haven't had any other dilemmas with my vehicle since the 4 trips to Pep Boys. So now I am. On the road again just couldn't wait to get on the road again but anyways my car has been doing great since getting all my regular oil changes & other services from Pep Boys & now runs like a dream. I will be continuing to do business with Pep Boys. Thank you Pep Boys you have yourself a lifelong customer. :) read more

Beware of attempted fraud.... While passing through Collierville, TN we discovered a rear wheel brake cylinder leak on our minivan. I normally use a PepBoys store in Palm Bay, Florida for all of my repair work and have been very happy, so I immediately called the local store. We took our van to the store at 1120 W Poplar in Collierville. This should be about a $200-$300 job max. These folks tried to sell me a full blown rear brake job replacing drums and shoes that were less that a year old AND the cylinder on the other side that wasn't even leaking at a price of about $850. I asked for a manager and he of course was "unavailable" and the area manager never bothered to return my call ........the guy working the phones was too busy yelling over me on the phone to listen to what I was saying......so rude on top of the attempted rip off ..... They tried to tell they needed to "do it right" and replace the whole syste and tell me it was a risk of fire from the brake fluid ? Well since operating temperatures of drum brakes are WELL BELOW the ignition point of DOT 3 brake fluid ? That would be interesting to see...... When I walked in to get my vehicle back they offered to do it for $370 and I said no thanks .....I got it done down the road in an hour for $244.......where the mechanics laughed about the "fire" scare tactics and simply cleaned the leaked brake fluid off the parts. read more

Terrible job at diagnosing issues with my vehicle. Misdiagnosed my vehicle two separate times after they stated it was fixed. Only gave me a partial refund, and after posting a BBB complaint and attorney general complaint still have not came to a resolution. Would never take a vehicle here. I am so glad we have a pep boys in town. Since they came we have had oil changes, a break job, new tires and they have been professional, friendly, reasonable and just all around great to work with. I really like these folks at this location because they have been outstanding with all of our cars. Toyota, Jeep & Hyundai with oil changes, tires, brakes, lights and other repairs and maintenance. Just recently the motor and full assembly for a window was in the fritz and the dealer part was $241.00 but I could get a lifetime OEN warranted part for only $98.00. David said that if they bought it from Autozone that their system would mark it up but that I could purchase it myself and they would put it in with exactly the same price as quoted but saving $139.00, boom. They took it the car and got it repaired and ready to go, same day. This is isn't the first time that they have gone out of their way to help me get the best deal possible. Of all the services that they done for me it has been quick, reliable and done right the first time. They have honored all coupons and have accepted my parts for repairs. Nice people and great service! I fully recommend them for an honest and transparent service that's timely and professional. read more

I only went here because I had a tire leak on a Sunday and my regular tire place was closed. I waited an hour and was told I needed a new tire. I was wary so I decided to go to my favorite place the next day. It turns out I did need a new tire. The difference in the two places is the service. I was in and out in no time with a new set of wheels. read more

Horrible experience. Vehicle has extremely slow leak. Took vehicle to Pep Boys in Collierville. They said it had nail in side wall. Replaced tire. Picked up tire and took to 2 other tire dealers in town. Did not tell them any details but asked if nail was bin side wall. Both just laughed and said not even near sidewall. Mgr at PB was nice but said Pep Boys would not plug or patch tire CLOSE (1.5 in away) from sidewall. Mathis Tire would never pull this slick one. read more

Here for an oil change. Was told it would take 30 to 45 mins. After an hour and a half, the manager asked for my phone number. After giving it to him, I asked how much longer it would be, to which he said 30 more mins. About 30 mins later, he finally explained to me that he didn't have enough people there working and they were about to get to my car. 30 mins later (almost 3 hours total). Once they finished with my car, it still took the manager (name tag said barclay) about 20 mins to get my paper work complete and payment. They gave me a half assed sorry and no acknowledgement to the amount of time I had to wait.... terribly managed business with no respect for customer. I will never return and will make sure every one I know doesn't either. read more

The bottom line is they overcharge for poor and unreliable maintenance. If you bring your car in for something as simple as an oil leak, expect to have to go back 3 or 4 times before they find and fix the problem. Unfortunately I didn't realize how bad they were screwing me until I went somewhere else to get a second opinion. Don't let them work on your car. read more

I sent my wife in to get her new tires installed and alignment. She was told she would receive the alignment and the paperwork confirming the alignment. She got a phone call 30 minutes later that her vehicle was ready - she was shocked by the quick turn around and asked to confirm the alignment was done. She was told, sorry, they had not done it they will get to it and call her back. About an hour later she was told her car was finally ready. Here's where I give my 1 star. She leaves with her paperwork and calls me. I ask her if she got paperwork confirming the alignment. She did not receive it. I informed her to call back and let them know you wanted a copy for our own peace of mind. She was told unless you ask for it we throw them away. So she drives back to the shop location and asks in person if they can reprint the copy. She is told no, that only managers can reprint the alignment charts. So I tell her to go home and I will go in the morning. I arrived at 8:20 am this morning to be told in fact there would be no alignment chart at all. They don't keep them at all unless you ask. So, now I've been lied to 3 times by Pep Boys. It's my belief they never actually did the alignment and this is their way of getting out of trouble. Don't do business here, ever. I will never return. I'm not going to be lied to three times. The story cannot and should not change. That's when you start covering your own behind. read more
