I'm very thankful for the prompt and honest service from Pep Boys. I brought my flat tire to a Costco appointment, but the wait was still 90 min. I called Pep Boys and they were able to get me in and assess the problem. The puncture could not be repaired due to its location- it would be unsafe. They could have plugged it or sold me a new tire, and I would not have known better. Instead they reminded me of my warranty and recommended I bring the tire back to Costco for a replacement. Although, I was still stuck temporarily, as I await my next appointment, I was not ripped off. I was treated with respect and kindness. read more

Oil change. Put in all the info for my vehicle and scheduled an oil change. Got there after a pain to get there and they said oh we don't do Audis. They went on to say they dont do most European vehicles because the oil levels are confirmed on the vehicles instrument panel not a dipstick. Made an Appointment online for 3pm. Got there at 2:50pm and heckled in but was told they couldn't get to my car for atleast an hr. So an hr later yep they started on my car, then another 45mins later it was done. They claimed you get a tire rotation with any oil change. Guess they thought I wasn't waiting for my car because they must use the quietest air compressor I have ever heard! I was around the corner and watched them, they never did the tires but put on my receipt they did it. As I sat there listening to everyone call in with problems the front desk would just say drop your car off tomorrow we close at 6pm but all the tech leave at 5pm. The place over all is just dirty. Who ever owns this place needs an overhaul. Explains why it's the cheapest oil changes out there. They also have a $3 supply fee added into your bill. read more

Sunday, June 9, 2024 I had two flat tires. One was replaced by my spare. I had the car towed to Pep Boys. I approached the receptionist about getting two tires. She didn't greet me at all. I asked her if they could replace my tires. She said No, they didn't have my tires. No offer to order them or anything else. She had a very mean demeanor. I went into the filthy waiting room, sat down and cried because I didn't know what to do next. It was 100 degrees outside and I'm a 77 year old woman that uses a cane to get around. When I got myself together, I walked in front of her desk, I told her she was very mean. She told me that I was mean because she didn't have my tires. I said I wasn't angry, I was disappointed. Some nasty words were said between the two of us. My insurance company called another tow truck. I went outside in the heat rather than sit in that filthy place. read more

Let alone Pep Boys employees lacking empathy, but also they demonstrated rude customer services by disrespectfully responding to our questions from the very first conversation to finally hanging up the phone abruptly in mid-conversation when I asked for his name for the negative attitudes throughout the encounter. Poorly trained or uninformed representatives miscommunicated with us frequently during our brief encounter (store was closed before the advertised business hours, told to pick up the vehicle, but when I got there, I was told too soon to pick up, etc. Miscommunication between the employees about my request on specifics of inspection and also about the exact inspection results, in addition, they couldn't find my key upon completion of service). Sadly, lack of resolution on my end as to what's wrong with the vehicle after all the work and money I spent. I came here to get a tire repaired (thanks Charleston roads). I called ahead to make sure my car could be taken care of that day, as I was leaving town the next morning. They said it could be so I dropped it off. I received a text message that said I could follow along with the service which seemed cool, however by the end of the day, my car still hadn't been assigned to a technician. I gave them a call and was put on hold for a long time while they tried to figure out what happened. Apparently whoever I gave my car too dropped the ball. They quickly told me a ridiculous price and said none of my tires were under warranty. I know for a fact 2 of them are since I added it at their location but they seem not to have a record of that. They also said they wouldn't be able to finish my car until the following day. Took my car in on a Saturday morning 10am to have my front tires replaced. Greeted by several very cooperative and helpful salespersons. Chose some suitable tires and was informed a few hours wait time. Not a problem, so I sat around for a couple of hours and went out to have a second look at my car. Upon inspection decided to have one of my front tires saved on the rim as-is to use for a spare, and have my spare tire discarded and use the rim for my second front tire. This is where the problems started; The two helpful salespersons were no longer present and the one that was seemed to have an issue with understanding my request about which rim to use for the second tire. He said sure, but you'll need to pay an extra 20 for another tire mounted and balanced. I attempted to explain to him there was only two tires(the new ones) that had to be mounted and balanced, just use the spare rim instead of the second on the front. He started getting argumentative so I waited a few minutes and tried to explain again, but he insisted on talking to me at the same time I was talking to him and communication was impossible. I canceled the order at that time and having wasted my entire morning, drove off to find another tire store. Bottom line: Seemed like a nice place to do business until the front was turned over to a clerk with 0 communications skills and an ugly attitude. read more

The selection of products ranged much wider than typical auto parts places I've been and the store was clean and well organized. If you go here to get an oil change, make sure you watch them. There oil change service is suppose to include tire rotation. Well needless to say they didn't rotate my tires even though I asked to make sure it was going to be done. The mechanic had to my car back on the lift and rotate the tires. He was pissy about having to do this. The front desk girl Sarah ended up discounting my oil change by 50%. Well I'm glad I did! I had the pleasure of talking with "Jason" at the service desk and told him what was going on and about my unpleasant visit with their other location and that I simply needed help installing some bulbs I bought for my headlights. They have a small little customer lounge with coffee and a tv. The guys are always super nice and helpful for me and my car is always serviced properly and if anything else is wrong with it, they let me know and ask if I'd like it fixed before charging me. Made an appointment and they did a good job. But I thought the final cost was a little high. Well, they charged me $147.99 for each tire, then took off $147.00 for the "free tire". That trick cost me an extra $90.00 for the tire and a small amount more for taxes! I called to ask about the price, and she argued that the price was correct. Went in the next day in person, and the woman at the counter kept saying "you don't understand". Basically saying I was stupid. She got really ugly with me because I had all the facts, including a picture of the ad stating the price was $117.99. She ordered me out of the store, and almost pushed me out of the door. I went to Pep Boys today for an oil change and had a pretty good experience. They're open on Sunday, which is hugely convenient if you're busy during the week at work or on Saturday (when everyone seems to suddenly need an oil change). You can also find coupons on their website to save you money. Everything went well... they were really quick getting my car in and out and not packed on Sunday morning. I did a 4 star review because while it was great, the service really just didn't "wow" me. It's just an oil change, though, no big deal, I would definitely use them again. As far as smoking by the entrance goes, there is now a designated "smoking area" behind the building for the workers. I'm not a fan of smoking at all, but at least they have done that rather than allowing them to smoke wherever they want. The magazines in the "comfort area" could use some upgrading, though. read more
