I have been going to Pep Boys for the past 8 years. Even took out their credit card to use for my 2 cars. In the past few years, Jesus was a Manager at the Osceola location then moved to the Celebration store. During this time, he has always provided good and honest service. At times, Pep Boys has maybe taken longer than I expected or made mistakes, but overall have provided good service. I also appreciated they being honest with me. I am very selective where I take my cars and who I trust. I keep my eyes open but overall trust Pep Boys and Jesus for his service, professionalism, honesty, and good service. read more

I have various things done on many cars , in the past this place has been epic. As of late however , if you want and oil change make sure to block off at least 3 hours . I mean that seriously , even with an appointment. They over book ( and when I say OVER book they OVER BOOK), the appointment time means basically nothing. So they hop walk ins for higher paying services , expect you to drop off ( but if you need your car that day you will sit and wait for hours) . This has happened my last two times ( and it has nothing to do with oil prices ) . They are the closest place to Celebration , so it is a captive market. As I was in there there were two women ( not happy) that were in front of me that had been for hours (1) and another for over an hour with appointments who hadn't even been brought in. The staff is cool and good dudes , but the manager and the company policy need a deep dive , as so many people I know locally have "not great things to say" about the business policies. Sorry to see it actually , as like I said the staff is solid, but they are slammed with over books and catch all of the angry customers. Look else where for faster and cheaper service . read more

The guys are nice, its a great environment. I can't tell if they are short staffed or under motivated. I hope everything internally is going well. But i had an appointment. And i waited 5 hours for my car on an alignment. There were plenty of techs listening to music and seeming positive in the bays, but i don't understand how i was able to do 4 hours of errands and my car still wasn't ready. I wasn't updated after sitting in the lobby for an hour either. i'm just unsure of the place. I guess if you come in super early, like opening you'll wait less than an hour. But appointments don't mean anything here. read more

I have been coming to this location for about 2 years now for basic oil changes. I decided to have them check my a/c too and apparently some small part was broken. It took 2 days to fix because i guess they had to pull the dash off and i paid $1,400. The day i picked up my car i drove less than a mile to get coffee and noticed my brake lights wouldn't turn off. I drove right back to pep boys and the mechanic told me I just needed to lift my brake pedal... everytime... what? So i left... but 2 days later my battery was dead because my lights wouldn't turn off. I went back 4 times my car died 3 times because they were doing quick little fixes. After all of the issues, all of the visits (keep in mind this is all within less than a month time frame) the only thing that was offered to me was a free oil change...i got my oil changed by them when i got my a/c fixed! read more

First you make an appointment through the website, then they are confused when you show up. Then they act as though they're doing you a favor by looking at your vehicle. Got a text as to what needs to be done, cannot respond to text and you try calling all the numbers you find on this location, and they're all the wrong number. I price shop. And when I called they told me that the Oil Change is $61. I did not mention a coupon, and they did not mention that that price is only after assumed discounts have been applied. Person behind counter seemed little interested in helping me check in. Someone else had to come in and help with it. When I went to pay for the oil change, he gave me the total of $62.35 and I told them I wanted to use the 30% off coupon from the website. They had said it was already applied. When I enquired about the price from the phone being less when I asked how much an oil change would be, he said it was the already discounted price even though that wasn't what I asked in the first place with the call. This location drawn in business with cheap phone prices, then tells you that the coupons are not valid. Do yourself a favor, do not go here if you look around for the best deals. And don't assume they will take their coupons. The full price for an oil change here is actually $83.85 for 0w-20. They are very expensive and practices bad business ethics. read more

That was then, now I have nothing but praise for their customer service, a GREAT deal on four tires and advice on what needs to be done next after Christmas! BELIEVE the other reviewers and save yourself and time and money and DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!! I came with a simple issue. Nail in tire. I got the car towed. They took three hours to get to my simple issue of just needing a small hole patched. They sent me home with no patch and just hole in the tire. Very unsafe and a waste of my money paying 150 for a tow truck for a service that didn't even get done. I called and the guy who answered said "oh well that's weird" and would not even provide me with a solution. read more

I would NOT bring your car here unless you have the entire day to wait around just to come back & they still haven't touched it . I brought my car here at 10:30am because I had a flat tire . The guy told me it would be about two hours so I could leave & they would call me when they have fixed the tire . Three hours go by & still no phone call so I return at 1:30pm only to find out they still haven't touched it . Waited 30 more minutes because they said they were "working on it ." at this point it's been 3.5hours & my tire hasn't been touched . I had to leave to pick up my kids from school with the spare donut tire still on there! Highly recommend taking your time & business elsewhere. read more

I live across the street, so this location was convenient. I just needed a simple oil change and for them to pop a piece that came loose next to the tire back in place. I dropped the car off at noon for my 2PM appointment. This location doesn't win points for customer friendliness and is on par with the DMV. Lady I spoke with said it would be done at 3PM. I came back at 3PM and asked about my car...supposedly they were working on it then. So I went outside to see it just sitting inside with the hood up and no one around. Walked to the bank, then Publix to waste some time. At 3:40 I came back and asked what was going on. The lady came out and I told her I needed an update and she just said it's being worked on. I finally got my care ten minutes later and I asked if they got a chance to look at the loose piece. The lady said I don't know and just gave me the keys. I checked, and they did pop it back into place, so that was a nice surprise. For actual services rendered, I would rate it pretty high, however for bad timing and mediocre customer service, it gets a 3 star review. read more

I went to this location (09/12/14) despite being warned by co-workers that they have had bad experiences. My vehicle has been having an ongoing issue that I was told by another mechanic was the alternator. After first being told they would have to keep the car over night they finally took a look at it (and charged me $52 for diagnostic testing) and came back to say it was the starter. I told them to go ahead and replace it. 3 hours and $400 later I was told that the car was unsafe to drive and needed an air mass sensor and an ignition coil as well which would be another $600 not including labor. The car drives worse now than it did when I took it in. The staff was very nice and friendly but it seems like I was taken advantage of. I am taking it to another mechanic for a second opinion before I have any other work done. read more

Went to pepboys to get my car checked out and there was this older lady at the front desk eating pizza with the box right on the counter in front of me. Extremely rude! Also when she was about to hand me a clip board she licked her fingers...gross and unprofessional. When I was waiting to speak to a mechanic she was extremely rude to the person on the other line. Never had such bad customer survive. Also they scammed me and my girlfriend on both of our cars. I called the 1800 number to express my bad experience, but it was an office somewhere in the Middle East. I told the person I couldn't understand what they where saying and to have someone that spoke better English to contact me. She Said in 5 minutes I would have a call back..Still haven't received the phone call.. One piece of advice, go to another mechanic!! read more

I thought I talk about my bad experience here so you don't think the other review was an isolated incident. About 8 months ago I brought my Toyota Highlander in for an oil change. When I picked it up after the service the salesperson said that I needed a special order air filter. He said he could order it and call me when it is in. I said okay. He said it would take about a week. I never heard from him again. A few months later I scheduled another oil change a week in advance. When I called to schedule it I mentioned that my air filter needs to be special ordered. The salesperson said okay. I thought, "this time I'll get it for sure." When I arrived for the oil change I again mentioned the air filter. The salesperson said it was taken care of. When I came back to pick up my car after the service, I was told by the salesperson that my air filter needed to be special ordered. I explained that I knew that, and that is specifically why I mentioned it when I scheduled the appointment and when I dropped off my car. "Oh," was the response. So again I was told that the air filter would be ordered and that in about a week they would call to have me swing through. A week and a half past with no phone call. Finally I called them and said, "can I have my air filter replaced yet." At that time I was told that my air filter cannot be special ordered -- I can only get it replaced at a Toyota dealership. I am not even going to speculate what's wrong with this place. All I know is that it took about every salesperson in there over the time period of about 6 months to figure out that they can't order my air filter -- and none of them figured out that they should actually call after promising me they would call. As the previous reviewer pointed out, if they can't even figure out whether they can change the air filter on a car, and if they can't figure out how to pick up a phone and call me, what they heck are they doing when they actually have to use their minds to fix a car problem? Scary. Anyway, I'm never going to this place again. And it is really a shame, because I live so close, and there isn't other similar auto shop near Celebration. PS. If you just need an oil change, I highly recommend Valvoline Instant Oil Change at 14007 Town Loop Blvd. I know it is a little further away, but they are very professional and very proactive. It's a shame that this shop lives up to the up-selling, overcharging stereotype. Had an idea of what the problem might be when I brought my car in, and they correctly diagnosed the issue, but then said that the same work needed to be done on the drive's side as well, and "while I was down there" I may as well replace my tie rod. Total estimated cost: $750.00 I called Agner Auto Parts, the best in town in my opinion, just more out of the way to get to, and they quoted my "worst case scenario" at $300. He then told me I would need an alignment afterwards (probably another $100 at Pep Boys) and recommended a place up the street where it could be done for only $50. So, $350 said and done. And that's if Agner agrees that I actually require all the repairs Pep Boys said. 2 stars for free diagnosis. read more

I brought my car in today because I assume I have some kind of fuel system issue. I tried a fuel cleaner, but no luck. I called at 2:15 today and spoke with Rich. He told me to bring my car right in. He was waiting when I got there and remembered every detail I gave him on the phone. He already put me in the system and they were ready to go as soon as I walked in. I rate them 3 stars and not more because after an hour, they couldn't figure out what's wrong with my car. Rich was honest with me and said we could try one option, but it was a pure guess if it would solve my problem. He didn't want to see me just throw money and it not be fixed. So I left and will either wait until I can bring it in at the moment it has the problem or I can drop it off for an all day diagnostic. I want to get a quote to swap out my air intake filter in my Camaro with a KNN air intake. They wanted to charge me almost $600. The dealership is only 200, speed shop is 125, a mobile mechanic was going to charge me 160. But Pep Boys want it almost $600. I wound up doing it myself in under 45 minutes. They may not all be like this but this one for sure I would be careful with. Because the person on the front desk didn't know anything about cars and the woman that was his supervisor didn't know anything either. read more

I unexpectedly damaged my tire. I called to make sure they had the tire needed. they had the tire. It took AAA almost nearly 2 hours to get to me. I pulled in at 6:50 but they close at 7. They helped me and stayed after closing to make sure I was on the road again tonight! Everyone was professional and courteous. This was my second time and I will be making it a third time. Came by with a screw in our tire with twin one year olds, a 3 year olds, and a six year old, car stuffed full of luggage trying to get home from vacation. I went in for an engine diagnostic as my car randomly shuts off and makes a rattling noise/vibrates. I dropped my car off for a few hours and they were not able to replicate the issue. Frankie was very nice and helpful and showed me the battery testing process and gave some recommendations but they were unable to make any repairs as they couldn't find the exact problem. The team was so nice and didn't charge me for the diagnosis and was very apologetic that they weren't able to find a problem. I really appreciate the honest feedback rather than trying to rip me off by recommending unneeded services that wouldn't solve my problem. While the mystery is still unsolved, I still appreciate the great guest service from Frankie and the team. I will be taking it back again if my problem continues to happen. read more

Are all Pep Boys locations rude? Oil Change alert came on and didn't want to drive home (Austin Texas) without having oil changed. Went to a couple local joints...then decided on national name...Pep Boys. Uh, WRONG! Walked in and stood by counter...four employees standing looking at computers/phones. An employee from the garage (don't get me started about how messy and disorganized it looks) came in and asked if he could help. When told it would be two and a half hours (with five open bays) I decided to move on. I thanked the one gentleman for acknowledging me, then the manager type (no uniform shirt, a BMW performance driving polo) decided to get rude...didn't hear what he said, as I was out the door. I had a terrible experience here. I'd been using them off and on for little things purely because of their proximity to where I live (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.) But a few months back I started having overheating issues with my civic. I took it in and they told me I needed a new radiator ($800 though a friend at another shop says I got screwed on that price.) The next day the car started unexpectedly overheating again. I take it back in and they tell me the radiator they put in the day before was bad, and they put in a new one...again. The next day, it overheats AGAIN. I go in there and the guy who'd been helping me was like "what are you doing in here? We put in a BRAND new radiator. Why are you back?!" I tell him it's overheating again. I spend the next two days getting the brush off and run around everytime I call or come in. Eventually, they have some older woman who I've never seen before come out to tell me the head gasket is cracked. So i'm a bit pissed. I asked if they tested for that when I first brought it in, because I wouldn't have sunk $800 into a car with a cracked head gasket. They say they tested and it wasn't cracked. So I say, "I brought it in. The head gasket wasn't cracked. You put in a bad radiator, it overheats again, now the head gasket is cracked. So either you screwed up the test the first time, or the faulty radiator you put in cracked the head. Which is it?" The guys stammers a bit but essentially says that cars are complicated and these things can break at any time. So I've been without a car for a few months, having recently moved I didn't have the money to pay for a new engine or buy a new car. This Pep Boys sucks. They took no responsibility, offered no solutions, and made off with Nearly a grand of my money when it was all said and done. DON'T GO HERE! read more

I took the car in to have the clutch checked out because we could not get it to shift in gear. I ask for an estimate so I would have the worst case numbers. The estimate was $650.00. When I saw the mechanic test drive the car, I ask what was the issue. He said the clutch was good for 150K miles. It just needed fluid. I told him to add the fluids and would be back to pick up later. When I came to pick up the car up the counter clerk presented me with a $1,000.00 bill. He said they replaced the entire clutch assembly because thats what we told them to do. My bill is now $1,000.00 vs: $22.00. I am not sure how this will end up... Hoping they do the right thing. I have filed a complaint with corporate Pep Boys and will learn more in 3 to 5 days. Caveat emptor - LET THE BUYER BEWARE - Lets hope they do the right thing. Don't go here unless you're set on wasting time and money and getting ripped off. I noticed one of my tires was flat and decided to go in for an oil change thinking they could fill the air back up on my tires - which they said was no problem. They changed the oil (possibly, how could I tell if they didn't?) and said they had filled up the air on all my tires but the one that seemed flat had two nails imbedded in it and quoted me $130 to get it fixed. Excuse me? Since when did flat repair cost over $100? I paid for the oil change ($26) and then left, had an acquaintance that used to work in a car shop fix the flat for me in less than 20 minutes for free and said most places charge $10 for that kind of repair - which is true, because I looked up other chain shops that quote flat tire repair for $10 per tire. My friend also decided to fill up the air on the rest of my tires because apparently Pep Boys failed to do so or they got the tire pressure wrong by a lot because my friend could tell my tires were still flat just by looking at them. Long story short? Unless you want to get ripped off and lied to then stay far, far away. read more

I went here because at the time, I lived in Celebration. All I needed was a replacement tire put on. I sat for over an hour with no one approaching me to update me. I asked the men at the counter (I interrupted the movie they were watching) only to find out my car wasn't even in the bay yet. After another 45 minutes, I was shown the bad tire I had and advised to put two on and add an alignment. After asking three times for the price for just one tire, the gentleman shaking his head and sighing eventually told me the price. I said to go ahead with the one tire for now and waited for another 30 minutes. They did not tell me my car was ready, I had go to the counter and ask. My car was outside waiting for who knows how long. Not to mention that the lady behind the counter was smoking indoors while I was waiting. I have worked in hospitality for over ten years so I know customer service. Their tone and speaking was professional, their customer service was horrible. I beleive in constructive criticism. If a guest is waiting for 30-60 min, approach them just to give an update. People like to know that they haven't been forgotten. Also understand that spending money on car repairs is not fun and that people have limited funds to spend. The worker huffing and puffing because I couldn't spend $400 is rude and unprofessional. Super slow and it's not going to change.... This is a location that apparently has all the customers they need already. It's not the kind of place that you can go to to get a quick oil change. Heck, even if you make a reservation and come back days later, there's no guarantee that they will get to it within a four-hour window that you signed up for. Don't leave the waiting room. If you tell them you are dropping the car off..it goes to the bottom of the priority list. Bummer. read more

I live locally and needed an oil change on my Honda Fit. Typically I would go to my Honda service center but my oil level was extremely low. I was aware of the poor reviews at this location but was in desperate need... it's an oil change, what could go wrong with a late-model car in otherwise perfect working order? I made an appointment just after New Year's. Extremely ill, but needing to get this done, I took the vehicle in only to be informed (at about 10am when I arrived) that I might not get my car back until the next day! Supposedly several mechanics had called out. No one called me in advance to let me know. I do not normally get days off to get services like this done. I complained to the manager about this customer service issue and he offered me a free oil change at a later date of my choice. About a month ago I took him up on his offer. The service was done in a timely manner and I was on my way. Yesterday, however, I noticed that my engine oil pressure warning light flickered twice on my way home. I checked the oil dipstick to find it bone dry! THERE WAS NO OIL IN MY CAR! I had to tow my car to a Honda service center where I am now waiting to see if it was simply underfilled or something worse. This review will be updated once the issue is known. UPDATE: The filter that was used in my oil change was visibly crushed and caused all of the oil in my car to leak out. Mechanics at Honda confirmed there was no oil left in my car. Bottom line: don't bother with these guys, even if you need help fast. Guaranteed the moment I can drive my car again, my first stop will be their shop to show them just how unhappy I am in person, had this been left unchecked my car would have been permanently damaged because of a stupid filter. Went in for an oil change then they said I have a oil leak they WERE gonna charge me $750. It all sounded kinda fishy. I had no oil leaks on the drive way or anything. But after I read the reviews on YELP and said no way and cancelled my work order. I hope they did not puncture a whole themselves. We were about to head home from vacation when we discovered a nail in one of our tires. We pulled in to Pep Boys and one of their employees (really nice guy, sorry didn't catch his name) not only stopped what hw was doing, took out the nail, and plugged the tire, but he wouldn't take any money from us. We made sure to tip him but I wanted to take the time to write a review and say THANK YOU! We got home safe and sound. Thank you for not making us wait hours to fix it. Not a place I recommend. I have serviced my car there a few times due to location convenience even with no so great service but they are never touching my vehicle again. Made an appt on Wednesday for an 8am Saturday morning oil change. Dropped my car off Friday at 5pm so it can be worked on on-time. Came to pick up my car Sat around noon and vehicle was still sitting where I left it. Manager offered to give me free oil change and said my vehicles work order got lost in the pile. The free oil change offer does not make up for ALL the time my vehicle sat without being touched. My point - offering "free" services does not make up for "lousy service". I refused the free oil change and left with my vehicle. read more
