I cook a lot of authentic Polish food and the Krakow spice mix is amazing! I use it in so many dishes I buy the large jar now!

Love Penzeys!! The store is so cute and welcoming. I also really appreciate how fresh the spices are. With so many worries about additives in spices recently, it's been really nice to have a place to get quality spices. Highly recommend. read more

Fantastic storefront! I miss the one in Oak Park but took the 45 minute drive out here to get some gift boxes. The staff was great about asking if I had the email that got me a free gift box and a free cumin too! I wish parking was easier as that structure is tight and crossing the road precarious but all in all a good experience. read more

I can't say enough about the quality of the spices. I use them daily. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. Parking is crowded, but there's a few spots for 15 minutes but you need to be focused on shopping quickly. read more

I've shopped at Penzeys for years; they have reliably good spices as well as interesting blends and good sales. I'd say the only challenge about the Naperville location is the parking, though it does have a lot and a deck across the street. On occasion they have run out of sale items but will give you a rain check. Staff is very helpful if I have called to make sure something is in stock before I drive over. read more

The place to go for any spice you need. There are great gift boxes with a small bottles of spice, that is good for a housewarming, host gift or any reason when seeing someone who likes to cook or bake. Everyone there is friendly and knows where to find just about anything you need if you are in a hurry. it is always clean, nice music and never feel rushed. read more

Penzeys is the place where spice dreams come true! They have a wide selection--from the basics like cinnamon & basil to the esoteric: India extra special bold pepper & juniper berries. They also make signature blends for grilling, dips & dressings. Highly recommend the "Chip & Dip" seasoning--it's a crowd pleaser at our house. They offer delightful gift sets that make the perfect present for the cooking enthusiast or flavor authority in your life! The service is the perfect balance of hands off & helpful, depending on what you need! They will let you browse to your heart's content, or have an en depth conversation about one of their over 300 offerings! read more

Cute shop! The girls at the counter were very knowledgeable. They have literally every spice you can think of. They even have explanations for their spice blends and a jar of said spice that you can open and smell (maybe even try?). We bought a small cheese blend that can go on top of salads/fries/pop corn. Definitely would come again cause we love supporting local businesses! read more

Penzeys Spices - 3/4 cup Florida Pepper lasts a long time $13.49 - Herbs & Spices Near Me - Naperville, Illinois

Their curry blends are amazing! The staff was attentive and helpful, and it wasn't long before my "in and out in 5 mins" plan had me with an armful of spices. The only issue I have is that I'd like to buy larger volumes as I can't make the trip here that often! read more

We shop here often. Service is attentive and helpful. The spices are the best! Also they are great gifts. Nice shop that has product well displayed and easy to find. read more

I buy all my spices from Penzey's. I'm lucky enough to have a store less than 10 minutes from me so I can pop over in an "emergency" and not have to waste money on grocery store spices. I really like that I can refill containers and reduce my carbon footprint just a little. Staff is always helpful and friendly, and always helps me get out in less than 15 minutes so I can park in one of the spots right in front of the store since the parking lot is small and always full. People whining about the political emails could just simply opt out of the emails ‍ read more

I needed some unique spices for a Christmas gift, so we decided to take a trip to Penzeys. We were able to get everything I needed, and some delicious smells for free. We had fun walking around and seeing all of the delicious sounding options. We enjoyed it so much, we have added Penzeys to our rotation of stores when we decided to take a stroll in Naperville. The staff has always been helpful and kind! read more

Love my Penzeys! They are now the only spices I buy and they add so much flavor to all the dishes I make! I also love that as a company they lead with love and equality so I am happy to support them. Favorite spice mixes include: mural of flavor, chip and dip mix, seasoned salt, roasted garlic, taco seasoning and their vanilla and almond extracts are amazing!!!! Love Penzeys and will be a forever customer. Also love that this location has an area for my kids to sit and draw while I shop. Makes it easier for sure. I follow them on social and get their emails which include lots of deals and freebies! read more

I've been supporting Penzeys for over 20 years, long before I knew their politics. Are they more expensive than the sawdust you get at the grocery store? Sure. But you get what you pay for. The spices and seasonings are always top tier. They taste fresh even if you don't manage to use them up before they expire. I love that they have many salt free seasoning blends. I have friends and family that are on salt restrictive diets and being able to serve my loved ones tasty well seasoned food is important to me. Also, they always have some deal running that includes free spices or reduced price gift cards. In addition, i have always been greeted kindly at the Naperville store. The employees are knowledgeable and helpful without looming over your shoulder. read more

I've bought from Penzeys for years, and the prices are fair, they have huge variety of top quality herbs and spices.

We have been buying our spices for years at Penzey's. They are by far the best, and we are lucky to have a store so close to us. Their contactless pick up is always very efficient. They truly care about the health and safety of their customers and employees. Love that they always keep us informed with regular emails that contain amazing specials. Got "Foxpoint" as a gift years ago- still one of our favorites! read more

Excellent spices, friendly, knowledgeable staff and amazing selection! The cinnamon and pepper selections as well as hard-to-find spices are readily available. The salt-free selection is superior! read more

I discovered this little gem while waiting for a restaurant reservation in the area. We walked around the little stores nearby, and I smelled the spices through the open door. The shop is open, airy, and beautiful. And it smells like heaven! Since then I have continued to stock my extensive spice rack with Penzey's herbs and spices, using their convenient mail order when I can't make it back to Naperville. The quality and flavor of every single item I've received exceeds expectation and has raised the bar for other spice suppliers. While I generally buy individual spices and make my own blends, the Mural of Flavor blend is a favorite of everyone in the house. read more

Always like shopping here. Their sweet curry blend is the best and the cinnamon is good for baking and topping. Less expensive than the Spice House and kinder too. read more

I love everything about this store. The set-up is very user friendly. They're grouped together in ways that just make sense. Because of the set-up, I can find spices faster in a Penzey's storeroom than I can in a single isle at the grocery store. The variety of spices here is staggering. --do I want cinnamon from China, Indonesia, Vietnam or perhaps Ceylon Cinnamon? Maybe a blend of all of them? Frequently, you receive free herbs, spices, or blends if you spend more than $50. -which is an absolute given to me. With jars to pop open and smell, I always find myself walking out with much more than I intended. Best of all, they are not that much more expensive than buying from your local grocery store -yet they're so much fresher and a much higher quality than anything you can find there. read more

Penzeys Spices - A Penzeys cupboard is a happy cupboard. - Herbs & Spices Near Me - Naperville, Illinois

This store in Naperville is now our go-to place for spices, herbs, seasonings, extracts and the like. Penzeys used to have a location in Oak Park but that one closed up a few years ago, and now Naperville is really the main location out south. All of Penzeys stores are company owned, so you won't get any variance like you might experience at franchises. Besides the obvious (that they have scores of offerings), they generally offer three sizes of most items. Small one-inch tall bottles for the occasional user, larger half-cup sized bottles for a more convenient portion, and usually an even larger bag that big users go for or use for refills. This is all wonderful stuff - and each station where they present their wares is usually accompanied by an open container that is there just for the customer to sniff - neat and simple idea. Penzeys is located in the center of downtown Naperville - the oldest portion of the city. The area is bright, busy and full of people shopping. Parking is problematic in front of the store - 15 minute limit - but you can sometimes find parking in other areas or the large downtown parking facility. Penzeys is worth the visit for cooks and people who like to try spicing up their daily routine - pun intended. Give this place a try. read more

This location is smack dab in the midst of downtown Naperville. This is a great place for spices. As others have said, it is really cool that there are sample jars out for you to see and smell the spices available. If you are looking for a particular spice, you will definitely find it here. They also have seasonings you can top your salads with, soup bases, and dessert things. I think the price is worth the quality of what is sold here. Customer service was great too. We were able to save a few bucks on our order, once one of the employees noticed that we had bought a few things on special. I appreciate her telling us that. Yup, Penzeys is a cute little spice store with quality products. I will definitely come here first if I am looking for something in particular, or if I just want to try something new. read more

LOVE Penzeys spices! They are a great company and the spices are wonderful. I have been shopping with them (online and in person) for over a decade. My spice cabinet is full of their spices. I would recommend going elsewhere. The spices are constantly dry and without flavor. They are essentially selling overpriced dust

A great place to spice things up! I'm talking about your food. This little shop has lots of options for adding flavor to your food whether you cook it in your kitchen or out on your grill. Hubby had to load up on pepper as he is a pepper snob. We have white pepper as well as black pepper and he has to get the whole peppercorns and grinders for authenticity. I was looking around for some ideas and found 2 different multi spice rubs for chicken and pork. I'm all about slapping some spices on it to add some great flavor! We stopped in on a Saturday and there were plenty of people to help us and not in a high pressure way. They had some good suggestions. We will be definitely be returning! read more

Hands down one of my favorite places to shop. The staff are always amazing. Super friendly and very knowledgeable. Amazing variety of spices and spice blends. We do all of our spice shopping here! I also love how transparent the company is. ( be sure to sign up for their email newsletter) before raising prices on vanilla, they let their readers know when the price would go up and explained why it was happening. What other company does that?! Love this place read more

The spices are good. The blends are good. There really isn't a better place nearby for spices or specialty food stuff.

Customer for years---but, bye, bye for now, so DISAPPOINTED! I was 2 miles down the road from the Michigan store on 13 mile Rd. My husband was doing tests at Beaumont Hospital, and because of covid I could not go in. We are 1 hour drive away and I wanted to purchase the Vietnamese cinnamon. The salesperson would not help and said I had to order on line and pick up the next day. I explained my situation. She did NOT CARE! I asked if she could make any exceptions, just so I could obtain the cinnamon my husband loved. She literally threw a sale out the window. Super disappointed, especially when I spent many $$$ with your store. Peggy read more

Besides having the most delicious spices I've ever tasted, I appreciate that they put their politics front and center so I know what kind of business I'm supporting. I wish more businesses did this because I'd happily direct all my money to the places that believed in human rights. read more

Spices are amazing! BUT as someone who has their own political views, I get annoyed with the emails and political agenda the business has. That's great that you are passionate but spices have nothing to do with politics. Unless if you are campaigning then the owner should think about not including his views whatsoever before they lose us as business. Its a free country but not everyone agrees when it comes to politics (I am completely opposite of what the shop stands for). This Would be 5 stars if politics weren't involved. read more

I was worried when I heard they were moving, but I really love the new location! Excellent choice! The new location is huge and has an adorable oldie time kitchen display in the back with all of their cinnamons. Also, they have restrooms, which is great since I often take awhile to decide on what to get. Parking tip: there is parking (and an entrance) behind the building that works out perfectly. I wish I could describe when to turn in, it's the alleyway behind Rosebud that gets you into the lot, and it's a bit hard to see but Penzey's has their name on the back door that you enter through. It's best to call them and I am sure they will tell you exactly how to get in there. read more

I was so excited to finally shop here and it did not disappoint. It was worth the trip just for the smells alone! Penzey is a socially responsible business with fantastic product. I agree. A winning combination, going there even motivated me to go home and cook. Yes. Me. I cooked! If you can't make it out to Naperville, shop online. This enterprise will, wait for it, SPICE up your life. read more

I made my first visit to Penzeys the Saturday before Christmas. Walking in, I immediately loved the layout and how each section was clearly labled (Herbs, Chili, Seasonings, etc). Initially I wasn't looking for anything in particular (I had recently stocked up on spices at Geneva Spice House), but I ended up finding the perfect gift set for someone. The part I like about Penzeys is that the smell isn't overwhelming when you walk in. GSH has a very strong smell; enough to give you a terrible headache. Not Penzeys. There was a very pleasant aroma that was just enough to entice you spend your money there. Well played. Their prices may seem to be a big on the high side, but it seems the quality of the spices makes it worth it. You can also get small "test" jars, so you're not overspending on something you're not quite sure about. It's nice that they have multiple varieties of gift sets, so you're bound to find the perfect gift for any occasion. I myself had my eye on the "Spicy Wedding Set" (if I get married, that'll be the first thing I'll beg people to get me. Ha!) I do NOT like parking in downtown Naperville, and I spent nearly ten minutes ciricling the parking garage ten times, waiting for a spot. I know there's immediate lot parking by Penzeys, but I didn't even bother looking over there. Once I parked, I looked around the private lot and sure enough, all those spots were full. So you'll certainly need a healthy amount of patience if you plan on visiting here. Or, be smarter than me and go during the week and not during the holiday season. read more

An AMAZING selection of spices! No matter what you're looking for, they probably have it. For every type of recipe and from all types of cuisines, I saw cilantro to fenugreek to kosher salt flakes. The only con would be the little parking lot, but there's a parking garage across the street for those busy days with no princess parking available. **Sign up for the mailing list, the catalog often has coupons for free spices.
