My husband purchased a new Chevy truck in August of 2019, and was re-ended a month later. Sadly GM was on strike so the truck was not repaired until November of 2019. The repair was done at Penske Collision. 2 weeks ago, he noticed some rust around the wheel well where the repair was done. I took the truck in to Penske last Friday 4/3/26, along with all of the paperwork from the repair, to ask about what can be done to fix the rust. The asked if they could keep the truck and made the repairs in less than a week! No charge! We are very happy they stood by original work and repaired the rust. I truly appreciate the quick turn-around in getting my car fixed. Brock was adequately responsive as well as pro-active with updates. One thing that I was not pleased with was that my car was parked out in the parking lot for most of the day and was not locked. I only happen to notice it through the app on my phone. I hate to think what might have happened if it had been left unlocked all night. Another thing that I feel should have been done better was putting the items in my trunk back to the way they were. As it was, my trunk looked like it had been ransacked to get to the spare tire tools to get my tire off. Not huge deal but when it comes to overall customer satisfaction and positive lasting impressions, details matter. Although I hope I never have to, I would bring my car back here over any local collision companies near where I live. read more

Optimist that I am, I'll imagine the repair work will be as excellent as my initial experience. Backstory: my Honda Accord was minding its own business parked in a Panera Bread parking lot. I'm sipping a drink while a female delivery driver in a white Jeep Wrangler whips into the spot next to the parked Accord damaging the passenger side. I wasn't aware of the damage until the next day. Penske Collision is a preferred provider for my auto insurance. I called and made an appointment, no problem. The damage assessment and Penske's communication with the insurance company was seamless. Yay! I'm here at drop-off day and the car intake is already underway. I'm sitting in the Penske Collision guest lounge 30+ minutes due to a snafu with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. They conveniently have a well-staffed (I counted 3 employees) location inside Penske Collision. Although the insurance company arranged the rental, there was no record that I would be at the repair shop and no car onsite. So, I wait. However, no stars off Penske Collision for Enterprise's contribution to the experience. read more

My husband took our Civic in at 1:00 - by appointment- to replace one tire that had been ruined by a pothole. After waiting 2 hours, he finally was given an estimate. Then he waited another 2 hours for the repair to be complete. When he asked he was told that they had a lot of walk ins and they couldn't control the wait time. So beware that appointments mean nothing here- you can make an appointment and still sit in their waiting room for 4 hours for a simple (overpriced) tire replacement. Considering dropping your car off and coming to pick it up when it's done instead? Well, you can only drop it off when they're open- so in our case since we work, we have to drop it off the day before and be without a car for 24 hours. And when you do drop it off, it takes upwards of 20 minutes to get checked in (we have done this before too.) And then after they call you to tell you the car is ready, and you arrive 20 minutes later, it takes them another 20 minutes to actually bring the car around so you can leave. Staff is not at all courteous about any of this. Our car is less than 2 years old and has needed much more service than expected. It seems Civics at least are not made as well as they used to be. read more

Horrible!!!! Do not recommend this place at all. It took weeks to get an appointment with them once. I was able to get an appointment. I was told the parts they needed would be ordered and I should have my car back with a week a week and a half goes by with absolutely no contact from them so I called they told me that they still have not received over five different parts meaning the parts were never ordered before hand even though they knew exactly what had to be ordered. I'm up to three weeks now and still no parts. They are terrible communicators. I am extremely disappointed. read more

This was my first time dealing with Penske up on 96th St in Indianapolis. I had been involved in a hit and run which caused damage to the front passenger side of the panel and bumper guard. Penske staff are extremely courteous, helpful and while it took longer for them to get parts, they needed extra time because they weren't satisfied with the way the decorative trim looked. My insurance covered the total cost of 5K except for my deductible. I was extremely happy with the service and professionalism of Penske. They have an arrangement with Enterprise Car Rental so I was able to leave my rental vehicle at Penske and they arranged for Enterprise to pick up their auto. I would highly recommend Penske Collision, they're the best. read more

It wasn't awesome to have to deal with a collision repair in general, but I was really pleased with my experience with Penske Collision. The estimate process was very easy (I did it all online), they had an Enterprise rental car on site so I didn't have to worry about getting my rental, and they kept me informed via email about progress. It ended up being done more quickly than they estimated, which was a bonus. They worked with my insurance and so all I had to pay was a deductible. I would definitely use Penske again (though sorry, guys - hopefully I won't need to!). read more

They did a good job, but dealerships bother me with their lack of ability to tell you how long something is going to take. The estimate had 10 hours of labor but I was told it would take 4 days. When asked why the answer was because that is what the system says it should take. Maybe the same system that told them it would take 10 hours. As it turns out they were doe. By 3 pm on day 2. And the dealerships wander why we go to Jiffy lube for our oil changes. This goes for Penske device as well. But if you can overlook their lack of focus on the customers time Penske has great people and does great work. I read more

My biggest problem is the customer service or the lack of. I had to call to check status of the repair. When receiving a call back, the service manager Mark sounded annoyed and inconvenienced. When I picked up the vehicle there was a problem and Mark did the bare minimum to resolve. I've never had an issue with the service department. I expected the same high level of service from the collision side. Very disappointed. read more

I had a first rate experience with Penske collision which I expected based on my A1 experiences with Penske Honda's service dept. They had to repaint the passenger side of my 2014 Honda Accord after I was side swiped by another driver. The car came back looking excellent. I was told I could wash the car right away which is great. I'm really pleased by their work. I feel like they went the extra mile to do a factory quality repair and make the car look like new again. I was recently in an auto accident that put nearly $7K in damage to my Honda Civic. Penske was very quick and helpful with their services. They explained things I didn't understand, gave me some updates in a timely manner when it was going to take longer than originally told, and the work done was great. I'm giving them 4 stars because when I gave them my car, it was spotless (no dust in the vents, etc), but after I got it back, I had to go back in and clean out my air vents and all of the dash because of the dust that the company didn't clean from their work. I was disappointed in this. Overall, highly recommend though! Just be sure that they clean out everything after their work. read more

Car was towed here following an accident. My little Civic was hit by a semi truck ("cruuuuuuunch"), causing several thousands of dollars in mechanical and body damage. They used original, new Honda parts, which included a new driver's side door, wheel, tire, wheel well, side mirror, etc. The work was completed within three weeks, even with the holidays (Christmas and New Years), which may or may not have been the result of my insurance company being pushy because they didn't want to pay for my rental car any longer than necessary. The paintwork is smooth and shiny and blends seamlessly with the original paint on the rest of the car. The car looked pretty bad after the accident and I was skeptical about whether it could ever look the same again, but Penske Collision was able to return it to its pre-accident condition. read more

As far as I can tell the quality of their work is fine. Cosmetic damage was repaired and it seems like all the internal repairs are ok. Two major problems with them. 1) They have absolutely no idea when they will get around to fixing your car. It took quite some time for them to actually get the parts they needed (probably not their fault), but even after they had all the parts, it took them almost three weeks to actually do the work. And during that time they kept giving me estimated completion times that obviously were completely made up. Either they don't have any scheduling system, or it's completely broken. 2) Their communication with their customers is horrible. I always had to call them, they never called me (until the very end when I was quite insistent and specific about my expectations for a call back). And leaving a voice mail is useless -- just hang up and try later to get someone to pick up the phone. I did seem to get action when I got in touch with the manager rather than the front line guy. read more

I had the bumper repainted. Was told it might be done on Tues. It was not. They'd had quality control issues. Was told on Wed, probably be done mid day or mid afternoon. It was not. Was told they had to redo part. On Thurs, at 10 till 3, I'm told, it is in line for cleanup, they'll call you in about an hour. They did not. 1 hour 40 min later, I call them. It is in line for cleanup, ready at 5:15. I arrive, car is not ready. The place is deserted. No other customers, no one even at the collision area desk. No one at Hertz to return the rental to. Finally at 5:30, they bring me my keys. The second I open my door, I'm assaulted with a horrid, sweet, cloying, cheap, air freshener sort of scent. My windshield is dirty on both the outside and inside. All my mirrors are dirty. I put my car in the garage with the windows open. My garage began to smell. I moved it outside for awhile. This morning, my garage still smells. I wish they'd never had my car. read more

BEWARE! Do not take your car to Penske Collision. We had a very severe rear end accident with our 2017 Honda Accord and after the accident decided to have it towed to Penske Collision as we thought a Honda dealership would be most knowledgeable as far as fixing it as well as be the most honest as far as if it should be even be repaired. After the car was towed in it took them just over 2 weeks to get the estimate completed and car most of the way tore down. Our point of contact was one of the managers named Mark who was okay to deal with at first but as the deal went on just seemed to be very deceptive to not only us but also to our insurer. Penske Collision is an approved repair shop with our insurance so there aren't any checks and balances as far as fixing the car or not. Whatever Penske says goes due to them being an approved shop and in my experience, it becomes fraudulent at best. The original estimate on our car was around 13K which seemed very high for a 2017 accord that at the time would sell around 18-19K on the fair market with no accident history. The sticker price almost two years prior was 24K. I was told by the shop, an email to show this, that there would be no further supplements added and that would be it. Fast forward and the final repair bill paid by the insurer was almost 16K. At the 13k we pleaded with the shop to have the insurance company out to take a look as we didn't feel a car that is only worth 18k should be repaired especially when there's a chance for that repair bill to go up once the car is torn all the way down. Penske tried to state the car was worth 21-22K with 35K miles on it and almost 2 years old with original sticker price of 24K that we paid 23K for brand new! We went back and forth and explained how a car that is worth 18-19K on a good day should NOT have 16K in repairs as that is not safe to drive on the road at that point if you're running an honest business. They kept telling the insurance company the car was almost done and in paint when it in fact wasn't and I had pictures to show that it wasn't. They also didn't submit the supplement of the additional almost 3K that made the repairs close around 16K until the car was completed so it wouldn't be sent to the total loss team for potential total loss. I even contacted the general manger of not only the collision store as well as Penske Honda via email to voice my frustration in hopes they would get involved to at least get more eyes on my situation to which they never even replied. Long story short they want to make money on the repairs, so they will repair a car that shouldn't be no matter the cost to assure they get those large repair bills. I even purchased this car from the Penske Honda dealership as well as many other Hondas from them over the years. NEVER AGAIN! Meanwhile I'm now stuck with a car that shows severe rear end damage on any report pulled and I couldn't sell it now for over 15K if I wanted to. Bad business to say the least! read more

I had damage on a quarter panel of a car and they cut out the rubber around the window with a razor and put it back in all jagged, asked them to fix it, they fixed it, but the paint on the quarter was rough, easy to see sanding marks all over it through the paint and it wasn't smooth. Also there was fish eye in the paint, asked them to fix it, then it came back looking ok. Less than a year later the paint bubbled up and cracked. I talked to a person in collision and the person told me to come in and drop my car off that they would warranty it. I arranged for a ride but when I dropped my car off Tom said they wouldn't warranty it even though they did body work on that very spot. read more

Had a friend back into my car in their driveway. Their insurance gave me a list and I picked Penske Collision. After the estimate, Mark the service manager, also suggested I use my insurance to repair hail damage while the car was in. As far as I could see the hail damage was minimal. I declined. The repair took longer than said on the estimate- 3 weeks rather than the 1 on the estimate. I picked up the car and got home and then I started to notice things. Molding around the repaired door was off track. The seats were dirty in the area where work was done. The door didn't close just right. A cover for the fixing of a roof rack had come off. I took the car back and Mark immediately cleaned the seats and fixed the molding. He promised me he would order a new cover/cap for the roof rack. A month later nothing from them. Their paint job and repair work look good. The problem was the details. I will give two stars and probably look next time for another body shop. read more
