The food was absolutely fantastic. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, with a soft, fresh bun that held everything together beautifully. Every bite was delicious. The sweet potato fries stood out as some of the best I've had--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned just right. The ranch was thick, creamy, and so good I ended up dipping everything in it. Portions were generous, the food came out hot, and there wasn't a single thing on the plate I didn't enjoy. It was one of those meals where you're already thinking about what you'll order next time before you've even left. To go with the meal, the beer selection was solid with a nice range of options, from easy-drinking choices to more flavorful craft pours. Everything felt thoughtfully made, and the staff added to the experience by being friendly, attentive, and easygoing without being intrusive. Overall, it's a great local spot with excellent food, great drinks, and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back again and again.

Keep that whisky safe! See what I did there? Safe?

My waitress informed me that the list was not valid as the board had not been updated in weeks, despite an eraser and piece of chalk sitting there. So, that wasn't super helpful, especially since she had no idea what was on tap and had to run back to the bar to look. (Table waiting 101 in a restaurant, let alone a sports bar, is to know what you serve... even if you have to write it on your hand). I usually give a bad experience another try, but this was so egregiously foul I'm not going back. I hear it was good at some point in the past. This experience was probably July or August 2026. It is a historical site, I didn't read too much in depth about what it was, but if it's for hot chicken sandwiches, then I can see why. Walking into the place was like walking into someone's home. Literally. It was super warm and inviting, had kind of a rustic feel, and just Good vibes all the way around. I got seated at a table, and started looking over the menu. There was only one waitress there, and she was running around like a crazy woman trying to take care of tables. Tables. She did a great job though so my hats off to her for making sure that every table felt like they were taken care of. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich with fries, and a diet Coke. Because hey, I have to watch out for my girlish figure. The sandwich came out, as well as my drink right on time. And so I Dove right in. For starters, these were some of the best french fries I have ever had. I'm pretty sure they're using Lowry's seasoned salt on them, but I can't be sure. Whatever it was. They were super tasty and super crispy without having to be asked for them. Crispy The chicken sandwich itself was great, had a great buffalo sauce on it and had just the right amount of coleslaw and pickles. Every bite was a wonderful experience. I love finding cool new places that I can share with the world, and this is definitely one of them. If I am ever in the Post Falls area again, this will be one of my stops to get a bite to eat. Bottom line? If you are ever traveling through Idaho and find yourself in Post Falls, I would highly recommend you go to this place. We went into this establishment on the way to the circus and were very excited to try a local place we had heard good reviews from. My husband was at home getting ready so my mom and I asked if we could get our order to-go. We were handed a menu so we sat down and started looking. The waiter came back and said, "dine-ins are our priority" and walked away. We tried asking if we were allowed to order because it sure didn't appear they wanted us to. With no response we ended up leaving after that awkward scene. We were followed out at this point and told "you can order but all dine-ins we have will come first." What's the difference between ordering in person, waiting our turn, paying and eating in our car vs. at a table? We wrote a review on their Facebook page of our experience and instead of having any sort of apology or kind words from the manager we were criticized by them as well as their "loyal" customers who knew nothing of the situation . They made it sound like we demanded we have our food before anyone else because we were in a hurry. We simply asked for a to-go and instead of having a simple "I'm sorry but we don't take to-go orders" or "it will be a 30 minute wait" or "there are 6 dine-in orders ahead of you is that OK?" we were simply told we weren't their priority with no other explanation. So unless you want to experience the rudeness of this establishment I would suggest skipping Penny's and eating at Capone's instead where customers actually matter. read more

Forget about your New Year's resolutions -- for now-- the burgers at this place are too good to give up! I'm a big fan of the Elvis, both with Penny's signature beef or substitute a chicken breast. Always piping hot and just messy enough to feel decadent. The fries are amazing, just be sure to ask for extra hot. I've had many servers over the years at Penny's, and they are consistently good. It is small, with fun decor, suitable for kids. The restroom situation is a little dicey, but not a deal-breaker. Thanks for the Calories! read more

The Order: General (burger) + Loaded Brisket Fries…read more First off... Online ordering... aka ScrollFest 2026... worked great, even if it felt like filling out a mortgage application. A heroic amount of options. I'm sure some folks love that level of control, but by the end I half-expected a personality test. On a phone? Absolutely unhinged. Desktop was survivable... barely. Pickup: Online said 30 minutes (6:23pm). Reality said "Nah, we're done already" at 6:09pm. Credit where it's due... glad I went down early so the food didn't turn into sad leftovers before I even met it. Presentation: Burger and fries looked good. No shame there. Instagram wouldn't have laughed at me. The General (Burger): Unfortunately... dry. Not send-it-back dry, but definitely "thank God for pickles" dry. The pickles did some real heavy lifting, adding the only noticeable zip. BBQ sauce and ranch were apparently present in spirit only... I saw a drip, but my taste buds never got the memo. Result: A decent burger. Not bad. Not memorable. Certainly not something I'd text a friend about like "BRO YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS." Loaded Brisket Fries: Flavor? Good. Sauce? Tasty. Execution? Eh. For $12, the portion felt a little "is this the appetizer?" The fries could've been warmer and better mixed... instead it was more like scavenger hunting for bites that had everything together. The deep-fried cheese curds were legit but borderline fork-vs-curd death match. That plastic fork never stood a chance. Outsides were pretty crusty... almost too committed to the crunch. Overall Verdict: Good food. Nothing offensive. Nothing that screams "come back often." If I'm nearby and hungry... sure. If I'm choosing a place intentionally... probably not. Final Score: 3.5 stars... rounding up to 4 because I believe in grace. Solid effort. Some wins. Some misses. No fireworks. Would eat again... but only if someone else picked the place and I didn't have to scroll for 10 minutes first Ambiance: N/A.
